What blows my mind is how humble this guy is. I’ve watched many of his videos - he often gives props to people he has learned from, or emulates. The hilarious part is that he’s better than them... in my opinion. Regardless, he’s amazing
Just amazing! Makes me want to get my graphite pencils out and try this brilliant method... thanks so much for your time and uploading such wonderful work...
I saw your answers below so got my answer. Also wanted to say thank you for showing your early attempt vs what you get after much practice. That is more helpful than you can imagine!
I’m so glad to be able to learn from you! I’m often looking for better ways to draw but none of the people who are teaching how to draw are at the caliber that I’m at or teaching hyper photo realism
You are genius! thank you very much for step by step tutorial so detail, I didn't find in any other channel the way drawing the fur so detail until finished, so I lost the way about how to shade and erase before it finished to the end. But you show it to us so clear, you are generous :). Oh ya, I just looked around your website, all pictures are amazing, as excellent as Mike Sibley!
I have never tried this technique, being afraid that i will damage the paper..I always use tombow zero eraser and kneaded eraser which in my opinion takes double time.. After watching this video i don't feel afraid to try it,the opposite- i feel very strong urge to try it right now!
Hey there, great work! Very impressive as always! I would really like to see tutorials on your way of drawing hair on parts that are not indented and on rocks in general or in this case the rock below the tiger's paws.
Thank you for your demo!! I never thought to try my embossing tool that came with something else I ordered. Now I must go find it. I'm guessing you may be using a pretty good quality watercolor paper for the thickness?
I’m proud to say that after watching a couple of your videos my ability of being a art printer has increased :) I want to know how you can get such small details with the kneaded eraser! Whenever I try even with the smallest piece I always somehow manage to smudge it >_
Wonderful technique! As a beginner I have a question, will you able to answer please. I do pencil drawing only during day light, night its difficult to get proper details. Is there any lights set up we can use for drawing, it will help us to get proper details like in day light.
This helps A lot I bin looking how to draw fur so I was watching one of your speed drawings I was AMAZeD wow 🤩 btw can u show how to draw paws and legs?
Did you use a scraper art tool at the start instead of a pencil? And then thats why when you added tones there was endents and you could still see white lines?
Hi C Fiddler! I'm wanting to start a UA-cam channel for drawing, however I've never done this so I don't know what camera is best to use and editing software. Would you be able to lend me some advice? You're videos are so polished and crisp! Thank you!
Hey there, I use a remote Intervalometer for my DSLR camera to film my time-lapse. I use a canon 80D, but a more basic DSLR or other camera that you have on hand should be fine for quality as well. As for editing I just use iMovie. It was free on my computer and works well haha. nothing fancy. hope that helps
@@cfiddlerart3783 Oh wow thank you so much! I didn't expect you to respond to be honest... I'm so thankful! Wow I'm kinda shocked but wow thank you so much. It's been a dream of mine to start to put my art out there, and I'm thankful for your help and advice in the right direction 🙏
A4918 315163 LARSON JULH 100%cotton paper , is this a framing matboard or a thick paper? I live in a country where art supply are limited, so I am trying to figure out what is the best substitute, but first I need to know what is the A4918 315163 LARSON JULH 100%cotton paper feel like
Can anyone please tell what kind of paper do you need to draw this?? It's written in the description. Isn't available where I live. So what's the paper kind? What it's called? Is watercolor paper same as this? Thank you.
Hey there, It is not a normal type of paper, this paper is actually often used for picture frame mats, and so is quite thick paper. Something you can do is feel some paper at your local art store and find something quite thick, the brand or type doesn't really matter. Something thick like a Bristol or something about 2-3 times as thick as standard watercolour paper should do. Also if you can find actual frame matting paper that has a nice texture and is acid free, that should work well. Hope that helps! Caden.
@C Fiddler Art First of all I wasn't expecting you will reply. Thank you so much for taking time and replying to my query. And your art sir is ....AMAZING!!! I'm not an art student or something. Just sometimes like to draw. Next month I have post uni exam plans of drawing. But now I understood. I need a very thick paper for embossing purpose and a nice carbon pencil. Thanks once again. Have a great day!!
Great work very impressive .... tell me when scoring the paper does it have to be pretty thick to keep the indentations. Does it have to be more than 180 g thickness ( if the standard paper is 80g for general printer paper, how many sheets make up a good thickness )
Im not sure what gsm would be necessary, but thicker the better. I'd say at least 3-4 printer papers thickness or probably minimum 250-300 gsm. But I never look at my papers gsm, so i don't know its actual number, but maybe try that.
I use reference photos for all of my work. there are tons of copyright free photo website out there you can google it and get a ton. pixabay and unsplash are good to try. However it is important to always get the photographers permission to use the photos if you ever plan to sell your work.
Hey, so I recently started a drawing and for the first time ever I'm using carbon and I noticed that when I go over the indentations they get dark. Do you think that has got something to do with the paper (wrong side) or it's my tool? I'm using 100% cotton CP paper. Thanks in advance 🙂

This man's articulation of drawing realism has led to inspiration.

Do you have classes in patreon?
Did you use a scraper art tool at the start instead of a pencil?
And then thats why when you added tones there was endents and you could still see white lines?
Respecting you sir♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Instead of using an embossing tool, you could use a very sharply pointed 9H pencil.
bro u are epic
Thanks for the info

What type of pencil to you recommend shading over the scratching with ? charcoal or graphite? and what hardnesses
look up above to the "show notes" = the description area where he has listed all of the tools he's used.
What paper do you use? I can't find such big papers...

no problem! :)
Wow
What’s the best paper to use for this?
Wow you are so patient but the end result is worth it! By the way what kind of light do you use?
its just a small lamp with a 50W equivalent led bulb.
Can I see the end product of this picture pls?
What do you use to make the indents on the paper ?
How do you grid your work? By inch?
Where did you get your embossing tool?
You can even use a sim card tray ejector, empty ball pen, screw or even a toothpick. I found my embossing tool set (of 5) for 2$ in a stationary shop.
👌👌👌👌❤
So the areas that have been carved with the embossing tool do they stay completely white or can they become dark?
They can become dark as well, which is why a kneaded eraser is important to get into the cracks
I use this technique on paper 120gsm and it ripped. 🙂 what gsm paper should i use? Or did i doing it wrong?
I don't know for numbers, but the paper has to be quite thick, like card paper or more.
Dhobeat atleast 300gms
