I love the interaction between David and you. Long-time subscriber here. I will always be grateful for the Cosy Reading Nights you did during the Covid times.
Yes! Same for me - also when they put the printed 'stickers' on the front saying it is now a Netflix series etc. At least when they used real stickers I had a chance of peeling them off!
I’ve enjoyed the cake/cookie making in the vlogs and have now bought “The Sweet Roasting Tin” - you have baked a lot of from it - any favourites you can recommend? Thank you for another lovely vlog - my weekly comfort “show”😂
I just bought a lemon ginger cheesecake and was a bit hesitant of the ginger part 😬 Make egg salad with all those eggs!! I don’t like movie tie-ins either. Also, I hate those covers with a single woman looking off into the distance or maybe they’ll show her in side-profile. There’s soooo many like that in HF books. And…..if it’s an “ugly” cover, I’m turned off. I’m a cover snob 😅
I'm quite turned off my the new style of contemporary romance covers with cartoony illustrations. Mainly because I'm not a fan of contemporary romance so this signals what type of book it would be. I used to say I never like books with a man holding a weapon on the cover but The Stormlight Archives changed this!
I dislike book covers that are tie-ins with film/tv adaptations. And I’m not really into photographs of people being used on covers - except for Anne Tyler books, where for some reason it’s ok! I like old paintings on covers the best, especially when there is garish text juxtaposing the art (like you mentioned in one of your other recent videos).
Covers - I hate covers that are actual photographs especially of faces. I also can’t stand tv and film covers - the only exception being The Book Thief which in the UK is like an oil painting of the main character

I love ginger biscuits!! My favourite
I can’t stand it when the cover has the picture of movie/series 10:46

Yay my favourite UA-cam content, books, baking and chat ❤❤❤
Hurrah another vlog 🙌❤️🙌
"are they new on the scene" 😂😭
Also there’s a playlist on Spotify for The Year of Wonder book. 😊
Our dog is obsessed with bees, shes currently sulking by the back door because I made her come in and leave them alone! Loved the video.
In the classic movie Casablanca, there's a famous scene where they start singing the Marseillaise -- great movie!

Find out the detergent your sister used on your pjs ❤
I agree with everyone else and not a fan when they use film/TV image on the book!
Great vlog, thank you.😊
I really don’t like books where you can only see the back of someone

I hate stepback covers and any with a permanent sticker.
Not being much of a romance reader any covers with cartoon or illustrated couples on them are an immediate turn off for me.
We are book cover kindreds. I am also tired of the covers that show the back of a woman with the titles in neon.
