    I'm a novice who recently started my first strength training program and your videos have really helped me go a long way these past few weeks. This video on leg drive is like a mind-reader, something I was looking for as well. Cheers!

    Amazing content Brendan, you have one of the best educational youtube chanel. I love this type of videos, i really appreciate. I bench same "tension" style as you this is work for me too. I start benching sink/push "Mark Bell" style, but as you tell, loose my tension, stability and i miss higher intensity sets.

    I believe Jen does still hold the world record. So weird question, why does leg drive make my butt cramp after a while? Am I doing it wrong?

    I'm not sure if you already have a video about this, but do you have ayny tips for no losing tension in the lats while benching? I struggle with this a lot and it's what causes me to miss reps. I tipically try to reset between every rep but as soon as I start pressing the bar off of my chest I kind of "forget" about it unless I'm using lighter loads.

      Pull the bar into yourself instead of just letting the weight come down. Pretend you're trying to pull the bar apart, as you bring it down think about bringing your chest to the bar.

    And for someone who is only into bodybuilding, tension style would be the most optimal?

    • @BrendanTietz
      @BrendanTietz  6 років тому +4

      Dino Locker yes imo! I’ve heard arguments for why not but I would see no reason to overload anything besides the upper body while creating stability and tension throughout for maximal overload with incremental potential. Which that would be perfect for

    I point my feet sideways and only half of my foot is on the ground. Is that bad? Should I change it to one of these?

    Hi Brendan, recently I’ve been including pull-ups into my program and I notice that it causes pain in my sternum when I bench, especially when bringing the bar down to the bottom position. It’s like pull ups is causing the tightness in my inner pec and when it’s stretched, it kinda put pressure on the sternum. Any advice on this?

    Yeah, that's y I kinda hate the bench press... I am more of a explosive type of athlete, in fact very explosive but bc of my stupidly long arms I have to fpcus on stability as well bc I miss lifts when I do 'em explosivly.. Thats why I like Floor presses more

    Is arching the back like that allowable in competitions? It seems really silly to allow it. Arching essentially turns a standard bench press into a decline bench, and removes a lot of the chest from the movement.

      It's true!!! I thought he reminded me of someone but I couldn't exactly put my foot on it. I very much like the fact that he dosen't talk in absolutes. Some styles work better for some individuals based essentially on their morphology, strength and weaknesses. That being said, I am still trying to figure things out for myself.
