Truck Description
The TC8-Marksman is our first ready-to-run 1:8 scale trail crawler. The Marksman uses the new Redcat TC8 1:8 scale platform, which includes XR247 axles, superior electronics and a scale body.
The Marksman is a highly capable RTR scale trail crawler that includes our trusted RCR-2CENR 2-channel 2.4GHz radio system, HobbyWing QuicRun WP Crawler 80A ESC, and Holmes Hobbies 13T Crawlmaster 550 brushed motor. This amazing electronics combination is reliable, super smooth, and has incredibly accurate low end throttle control for the most technical trails.
The Holmes Hobbies powerful 550 size 13T Crawlmaster brushed motor uses a 5-slot rotor, for industry leading smoothness, and a 1/8th inch diameter shaft. This motor, paired with the Marksman’s precision gearing, provides loads of power and more than enough wheel speed to make it over stubborn obstacles. The Hobbywing QuicRun WP 80A programmable electronic speed controller is all-weather, waterproof, and dustproof. This Hobbywing ESC has fifteen different programmable parameter items. This enables the driver to tweak the Marksman’s ESC performance characteristics for the ultimate driving experience on any trail. The programmable parameter items include the running mode, battery type, cutoff voltage, initial start force, maximum start force, maximum reverse force, initial brake force, drag brake percentage, drag brake rate, neutral range, start mode/punch, PWM frequency, BEC voltage and freewheeling control. The Hobbywing QuicRun WP 80A ESC even has nine levels of drag brake adjustment. We understand that this level of tuning capability may sound a bit overwhelming to some but don’t worry, we’re making it easy by including an official Hobbywing ESC programming box. The Hobbywing programming box is easy to use and allows Marksman owners to make all of their ESC performance tweaks while at the bench or on the trail. This allows drivers to focus on the pure enjoyment of driving a TC8-Marksman that is electronically tuned to its fullest potential. Take full control of the Marksman in minutes.
Love my marksman as well. Very good car in the motor system can't beat it, love it to death. Wouldn't take nothing for it. So glad you didn't get hurt when you fell in the video. Thank you for the video
They really did a excellent job with the electronics on this one, normally RTR electronics leave a lot to be desired.
No doubt it's Nice for that price
For sure!
@@YARCWest be cool to see stock tires on those wheels , see how it works
Yeah I was just so tired of those wheels sitting around I had to use them. But the stock tires look much better on it. I’m sure they’re adequate
Just ordered mine on the 29th cant wait to get it
I think you'll love it, what you get for the sale price is a really good deal
I love my Marksman
It’s pretty dang solid!
I saw the sales.Nice score. Crawls great. 👍🏼
Yeah it's pretty capable!
Congratulations nice pick up & Welcome to the Marksmen family. 🎉 I’ve had mine since they came out & I love it. I’ve taken it out on 2hr. trail runs before & it it drives over everything. And yes the steering angle is not great but it’s not enough to take away the fun & there are a few things you can do to get a bit more angle out of it. I love the sound of it but I think it doesn’t get the credit it deserves for sure but it doesn’t matter because it’s just a fun rig to have & if you wanted to go out all day on a run it’s a reliable rig you can just grab & go have fun.
Yeah it had not trouble at all, looking forward to running it more and getting the real feel for it.
That's an amazing deal! Great truck!
Yeah it's really tough to pass up
Hello,
Great video, super nice area! 👍
Greetings Seven🖖
Thanks for watching, Seven!
Picked one up today. Went to check out the Scout on sale and saw this. I've been pretty pleased with ally Redcat trucks. The steering servo seems to be the one thing every video mentions as needing an instant upgrade. Looking forward to it! Great video, as always. (I gotta post a video of the Ridgerunner, it is actually a decent performer now!)
*all my Redcat trucks
Yeah the servos are where they tend to save some money, this one isn't too bad but it tight spots it's going to struggle and since you need to adjust the dual rate pretty drastically we'll see how it holds up.
For the price it's a good deal. Upgrades can always be done. Even necessary ones
Yeah for sure, it’s a steal at that price
Excellent video!! I did see this deal and really considering picking up either the gen9 or marksmen. I was surprised to see a comes with a HW1080 and a Holmes Hobby motor. Both of which are great components. Hard to beat that.
Yeah half your upgrades are already done!
👍
Thanks for checking it out!
Where is it available at that discount?
It was available on the redcat site for the month of September
Just not a lot of upgrades for the parts that are on it. If you want to make upgrades you have to completely change the parts to something completely different instead of upgrading the parts
Yeah that’s a good point, outside of electronics it doesn’t seem there a ton of upgrades and I would like to upgrade the rear links
