Good video. I adjusted the detente the day after I bought mine. It made a huge difference. However I can't middle finger flip mine. I own 30 Spydercos and can flick all of them. I haven't mastered knives with thumb studs. Can you give me any tips? Maybe you could do a video showing how to place your middle finger.
Do you know how to blast the scales to get that dark natural grey (Sebenza) colour? Just got some stonewashed flytanium scales blasted but they are not as far as grey as my sebenza. CRK uses 60 grit alu oxide as media. I have a theory that the result might differ cause of differen ti alloys? Any thoughts? Love the 229 but the missing "jimp" on the blade is just odd.
Jorgen Sandstrom sure, I mod knives, check out my IG: AR.knifemods. I offer a course blast that is similar to CRK finish. Got some pics a few post back on IG.
Did you have to take it completely apart to tune the detent? If so, did you remove the lock bar insert and over bend it past the normal point to relieve some of the pressure? Is that how you did it to make it easier to flick?
Rebekah Mullins yes, take it down all the way. I measure lock bar travel at full lock up, disassembly knife and adjust lock bar until it’s about .3mm past full lock up measurement
How do you tune the detent? Mine is crazy stiff too. I can flick it with my middle finger but not with my thumb. Part of the reason is my hand puts pressure on the lockbar. But it’s still super stiff. Love the knife overall

David Lane I adjusted the jock bar pressure. About .3mm past full lock up.
How’d u fix the drop shot issue of it being too tight, by just bending out the lock bar?
Yes, I got a vid on my page
Blade length? Nice review
