Wow, looking back at seasons 1-3, Dean's really changed. His sense of humor was so child-like and playful, now it's mostly deadpan. He's still funny, but god he's so much more serious. I can't tell if it's from maturity or the new kinds of shitfests cooked up for him every new season.

I don't think, btw, that it would be more depressing - on the opposite, it would be like Dean is mocking death or something. The Bon Jovi version is better, because Dean is not actually feeling OK during this moment, he is scared to death and he should be. The look in his eyes when he stopped singing... that was really great scene.

the last one always makes me want to cry,because even when the end is near they both have that spark in their eyes; they have that little spark of hope. I hate that it's not there any more, it got replaced by anger, sadness, and guilt. Plus I feel their moments of happyness even the small ones have started to fade with it.

I think Jensen Ackles And the writers of the show should get more credit for creating one of the most iconic characters to ever be on television. Dean has so many different facets to his character. And Jensen Ackles performance is always superb. He makes you feel everything with him. Your happy when he is happy, devastated when he is devastated and every other emotion he portrays. When the show first started they tried to make every emotional moment with someone they saved be with Sam, but it seems that they eventually learned that it just has more weight and emotional depth when it’s with Dean. I sometimes feel bad for Jared because he hardly ever gets to do an emotional or deep scene where he can really stretch his acting chops. If the boys need to connect emotionally with a victim they always give the scene to Jensen. The best scenes with Cass and Crowley their mom and even Jack and Rowena are always with Dean. But I have noticed that Jared has gotten to show a little more range in the last two years than he has in seemingly a decade. But Jared, I hate to say, is just not as good an actor as Jensen. He has gotten better over the years but he still can’t compare to Jensen. Bat I am NOT saying he is a bad actor, Jensen has just taken Dean to another level over the years. He just gets better and better!!! What will we do without him? All our lives will be a little less full without new episodes of Supernatural to look forward to. 😿I love you Jared and Jensen. Always have, always will.
