So why do new year's resolutions fail? This is a question that's been revolving around my head for some time. As I did my research, I realized that majority of people will fail their new year resolutions within 19 days. January 19th is considered quitter's day.
In order to follow through with our new year resolutions, there are some mental shifts that must occur in order to succeed.
In this video, I share:
1. Why most people fail in their new year's resolutions?
2. 3 illustrations to help better understand why people fail.
3. What we can do to incremental see long term success.
Enjoy.

I hope everyone's staying strong with their goals! Keep grinding! 💪
For me, my biggest downfall is time management. With studying and working, it's hard to keep up my creative and language learning goals, but I definitely live by the 1% rule. If I can just do one little thing each day for each of goals, it's at least a day not completely wasted. (As I scroll through youtube and avoid being productive haha)
Yes exactly, it’s the small incremental wins man. They win out long term
this is exactly why I start my new hears resolution on the 20th, then I miss that dip
THATS GENIUS.
*For me, the reason why I can maintain with something that I have set for myself is because of all of the failures that I have made or all of the resolutions I have made and couldn't stick with them...I would be SUPER analytical and ask WHY did this not work and recognizing a pattern*
I love that! Good take!
Your editing is soo good keep going you Definitely need more views.
thank you so much! for sure, I love making videos too much to stop! :)
omg that's a lot of journals in 7 years.... I started journalling 4 years ago and I only filled 3x A5 notebooks (similar size as yours)
Haha yeah, I love to write my thoughts on paper, i look forward to it every morning haha

it's a brilliant habit and its great to keep it up. It improves your writing as well (translating it to becoming clear in articulating ideas)
I used to write a lot to get my thoughts straight. Now I can be crystal clear when arguing with my own mind, I don't need to write as much anymore.
What motivates you to put such awesome content for so long while not getting the reach you deserve...... Hats off I stopped making videos after my 23 videos 🤦♂
Haha, actually all of my views and reach has been growing month after month so it keeps me going :)
I think it is because we get unmotivated after 19 days and tend to get lazy at sticking to it that we give up easily. Of course, that's what I think and it has been my experience as many others.
Hey thanks for watching :) and yes I totally agree
Two great books, "The Dip" by Godin and "Atomic Habits" by James Clear
100 percent. Such powerful concepts
Great video but I have to mention this ... the graph you showed doesn't illustrate the Dunning-Kruger effect, someone on the internet made it up and it spread like crazy. If you download the original research paper, the actual graph is completely different.
oh snap! thanks for the catch. I should have looked at your video before making mine ;)
Makes no sense why you’re so underrated
It's a combination of things I think. But as I post more, that could change :)
