    Here's a little snippet of recordings I was asked to play for Silva Screen Records. They have kindly allowed me to upload these for you guys. This was rock hard to play, tiring and loud, but SUPER fun :) I hope you enjoy it!

      That’s because no one today takes the time to listen and enjoy live and well performed music. They just care if it has a beat. My state symphony gives free tickets to students for their classical concerts. I attend as many as I can and ask many of my friends if they would like to come. Yet I typically end up going by myself. The sad reality of people and music today.

      Dominick Wade I can get to an A-flat over the staff in practice but never in the context of a song... in my opinion I cannot make an aperture small enough to blow a C over the staff even if I blow Softly...I even had to temporarily start playing the saxophone because I was frustrated not being able to play songs I want because my range is not high enough or easy enough to get to, I’ve tried many different strategies to get there but maybe a different trumpet that’s more open would be easier for a higher range? Don't worry about high notes. Make the lower registers super strong and slowly add a note each few weeks. Keep that throat open, long set tones and learn pedal tones to get that throat and belly working together. Doc can do a 10 minute plank and he's in his 80 s. And believe me, he can still easily play this. Get your abs in shape. Maynard swam a mile every time he could.

I went to the attic and pulled out my noble steed Bach Stradivarius. I went out to my back yard at high noon. Click...Click...Click.. I placed my lips to the mouthpiece, took a deep breath in... What the Hell was that??? As best as I can explain it was between a elephant, a donkey, and a dolphin. With defeat in my heavy heart, I simply handed her my trumpet as I walked by. She gave me these words of support," And you had to play the damn thing in our backyard!"

    I played trumpet through middle school, high school, college, and then for several years after, up until my 30's. At one point, due to financial hardship, had to sell my beautiful Holton trumpet. I've been searching for one to replace it for the past several years with no success . But, it's been close to 40 years since I played, so it might not be something i can expect to recapture. I played along with the record on this soundtrack a thousand times. But, my composure for the high notes was NEVER anything close to you. You're amazing. New sub.

    En tous les cas félicitations pour votre talent. Il faut dire aussi quelle musique ! quelle musique ce Ennio Morricone . Wonderful composer & wonderful trumpet... Thanks...

    Guys the key to play high notes is the way you put the mouth and the way you blow, not pressure or to blow so much. It is “””easy””” to play the third C of the trumpet. Before I knew I could not even achieve a second A

    This must have been so tough, endurance-wise. Sounded great. Just curious- why do you sometimes use the 3rd valve and other times valves 1 and 2 for a A above the stave? I'm sure you have it thought through - just wondering as I've always struggled with tuning when using 3rd valve for A. Anyway, great playing as always

    • @TheKingB11
      @TheKingB11 4 роки тому +1

      Sometimes it’s just more convenient to use the 3rd valve. For example when he went from the G# to A it was probably easier to go from 2-3 to 3 instead of going from 2-3 to 1-2

    • @joshandrews8913
      @joshandrews8913 4 роки тому +1

      @@TheKingB11 Also, if you having tuning issues using the 3rd value for A, you can just kick that slide out. Unless of course, you're flat, but in my experience, most people are sharp if their A is out of tune.

    • @Funkadelic3
      @Funkadelic3 4 роки тому

      All depends on what is easiest for the phrase. Sometime the 3rd valve can be easier to achieve at softer dynamics and easier to execute but the sound quality can be different imo. Just depends on what is easier for the individual player.
