- Опубліковано 31 тра 2024
- In this video I am getting the RC374 ready for a track demo (short carpark track) at the Sammy miller motorcycle museum in the New Forrest UK. I remove the fairing to clean the clutch plates and show how I made the aluminium and Titanium fairing screws and a little look around behind the fairing. There is a short running clip at the end in first gear but hopefully its gives an idea of its sound Thanks to Tracey, and Matt (www.altomedia.co.uk) for the riding clips.

It would be funny if Mrs Millyard had a baking channel on UA-cam and then during a video went outside to comment on Allen doing bike maintenance in the garden.
That'd be great maybe one off special episode! Food for thoughts there, mr Allen.
picture this, Mrs M is baking a cake, sees the mixing bowl has done a runner, looks in the front room to find Allen washing bike parts in it
I thought that's what it was.
Brilliant ! :)
@@johniksushibar165 I reckon Allen is far too clever to get caught that easily. Probably waits until she visits her sister in Land's End.
Brilliant, I don't know any other UA-cam channel where you have a mixture of motorbikes, baking, and wildlife, interesting and entertaining, thank you...
And a mechanical toy to boot; how did you forget Charlie Weaver?
@@SubTroppo And the lawnmower episode.
@@northlandrider5396 My first job was repairing mowers, so I try to forget them.
And machining!

I think Mr and Mrs Millyard should adopt me, as I could watch them all day. (I’m nearly 60 but that shouldn’t affect the legal process!) It’s tiring just watching a genius at work, let alone two, but I’m willing to make that sacrifice. Keep up the fantastic work! 👍
“Kinda like putting grease in a grease gun” - truly the mind of a mechanical person!
Need a screw:
Me: Goes to Screwfix
Allen: I put a 25mm bar in the Chuck.
What a guy.
Ironically that was a pretty easy task to make that screw. All you need is a lathe, vise, hacksaw and a buffing wheel and a few months of machine shop classes. BTW aluminum being a soft metal is a joy to work with the titanium maybe more a challenge.
Also I forgot to add you need the die to cut the 6mm threads. LOL.
Made me laugh Dan
We learn about bikes, engineering, manufacturing, cooking,… thanks for sharing!
... and wildlife.
I love how the cooking segment was narrated just like an engineering project. Food engineering.
The attention to detail is incredible & the sound, marvellous!
You never fail to stagger me with your attention to detail Allen
Agreed - but then forgot to put a helmet on!
@@b3knn forgot? He's cruzing about an enclosed paddock.
Devin
Allen's (genuinely) so sure of his months of work building the bike that he's happy to properly rev it. Sign of a true engineer who's confident in what he does.
@@davidelliott5843 I imagine he's very confident of his work being very good but I still think he loves the sound that would be the impetus for revving the engine. For being under 400 CC's it does sound like a beast.
'We need some screws" Everyone "I'll pop down to Halfords". Alan " I'll get the lathe out..." Genius.
I never liked that screw anyway ,next time I'll make an extra one to put a side with others called spares 😀 , and then one day I will count up all the parts for sale as a flat pack and other lucky people can nock up their own bike , excellent thank you Allen much love me old son
Reminds me of Brands Hatch in 1967 when I watched Mike the Bike ride a 250 six to victory in the 250, 350, 500 and unlimited races in pouring rain. As I recall Minter pushed him hardest until he fell off at Clearways.
Stonking stuff. Sammy Miller's is always worth a visit for the bikes, the people and of course a good cuppa with cake! Cracking day out!
As a frenchman but a motorcycle enthusiast, I already knew your name and some of your bikes of course, who doesn't ? But I only discovered your videos today and it's a revelation... I never thought it was possible to achieve this level of perfection with only basic tools. In fact it's impossible without your talent. I hope we'll see a lot of your now famous "hacksaw precision engineering" in the future. Thank you for this and the cupcakes !
Wow the sound that thing makes is just fabulous. Thanks Allen 😊
Oh god that noise, that noise is the stuff that dreams are made of
A man with a so soft of a voice that carries a big stick . That thing is bad ass .
Thank you for sharing a look in your mind...
Really a beautiful machine with an amazing sound!
I wish Allen Millyard was one of my next door neighbours.
And Sam Lovegrove was the other one...
We finally see how Allen Screws are made. Har har. Excellent video, thank you for sharing.
Only Allen could include, cooking and wildlife in a motorbike video and get away with it 👍👍👍
Another of my ‘most anticipated’ UA-camrs👍😎
I love the little break where you show us how Mrs Millyard makes Viennese whirls and then you show us how to make a 6mm Titanium screw; amazing engineering skills, something for everyone! Fantastic 👍
I bet the resident alpacas at sammy millers jumped when the RC barked into life 👍🏼
Top work as ever Allen👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
They did
The pigeon was in awe looking at the Millyard screws.
I've run out of words to describe the engineering brilliance!!!!!great to see Charlie out and about 😂 and the baking made want as well!
I always was (and remain) awestruck by Allen's fantastic engineering skills...
...but I'm beginning to think Tracy's cake-baking is even better!
I always wince every time I see your thumb nail, the one on your hand that is, the video thumbnail makes me go yayyyyy 😊
It’s getting better now, it’s 12 months since I hit it with my 2kg hammer making the H1 crank seal bid 🙈
Watching Tracey baking made me hungry! Another great episode.
You never fail to amaze me with your fabulous skills and love for motorcycle's , brother it's very special that people like you excist , big up to you
It’s apt that Tracey shows all the skill and attention to detail with her baking as Allen does in his workshop. Cake baking is a precise business, just like making an RC374.
Allen may appear to be a hugely talented engineer but in fact he is an alien that can create anything with basic tools in his shed, even his hacksaw can saw a straighter surface than a human can achieve on a milling machine
You’re the kind of guy I wish I had for a neighbor growing up as a kid. 🛠🇺🇸🛠
That is the most two-stroke sounding four stroke I’ve ever heard. Fantastic!
That is an insult, not a compliment and simply not true because it doesn't sound like a sack of nails like pretty much all two-strokes. :)
@@worldhello1234 some do, and so do some 4 strokes do too aren't that great either.
@@worldhello1234 sorry but I do hear that two stroke rip an I like it😁
Rubbish. The Honda 6 has a very distinct sound.
That 6 sound is mesmerising but there appear to be only a few recordings of one "disappearing up the mountain" at full throttle with that haunting howl wafting on the wind, now that is truly memorable! Thank you Allan and Mr Honda for both showing mechanical genius.
This series is great Mr. Millyard. Sharing your hard work is greatly appreciated!
An absolute master piece of engineering. That's the Viennese whirls of course.... only joking!! Brilliant bike and sounds fantastic Alan, your skills and attention to details are off the scale. Thanks for a great video.
What an honor to restore and run Mike Hailwoods bike. ❤ Wonderful rescue!
That pigeon was totally saying, "WOOHOO!!"
This was simply terrific, what a machine! Loved the creature cameos and the baking demo too. A joy to watch from start to finish. Thank you!
Thank you for the kind words 🙂
Imagine Julia Child saying on her cooking show "While we're waiting for our oven to heat up to 400 degrees, let's use our welder and our hacksaw to make a V-6 Suzuki GT750". This is the only channel where cooking tips are a natural fit on a motorcycle channel, and the only channel that makes removing screws actually interesting to watch. Loved this video!
She would have a load more viewers tuning in
I just can't get enough of these video....Keep them coming please..
Beautiful engine sound, which I’m sure the even attendees could also feel. Now that’s something an electric bike will never be able to truely copy.
i love the sound of that mate, just perfect!! cheers for the share.
Excellent bit of work Allen and I could watch you all day all the best Tony
Just bloody brilliant mate,,👍🏴🇬🇧
Hi Allen, what a beautiful machine.! Honestly a work of art. Great video, cheers, Alex.
I find using brass rods (with different sized tapped holes in the ends) make nice mandrels for polishing fasteners. Much better for your fingertips (and also your knees, when a screw catches & pings across your workshop floor!)
Hope the Viennese Whirls came out perfect, btw!
there is no doubt about it,this man is a pure genius in every way,and while we are on it the world needs a 6 pot yl1 with extra gears and alan is the one that can pull it off
So so clever so laid back this man is genius on another level
Motorcycles bakeing and wildlife ,brilliant love these vids.
When you cut the slot in the screw you made I noticed you used a great trick of 2 -3 blades in the saw...great trick used it many times,,, cheers Ian
good spotting, but I couldnt help but wonder why he didnt just cut the grove in on the lathe cross slide. Its already set to dead centre!
@@tigertim20 The cross slide method is an option I use sometimes but this time I wanted to show how easy it is to use a hacksaw
strangely I only used one blade, but I agree it looks like there is two
I love the way this dude talks. It’s almost like I was watching a documentary
Can’t beat a sunny day tinkering with a motorbike while the mrs. does some baking 👍🏼
Another riveting instalment in the Millyard saga, always a great watch and fills me with awe. I made my own screws just priceless.
Allen you amazed me so many times. Great video 👍🇬🇧
The best fairing I’ve ever seen on a motorcycle. Quality work
The next video explains how I made it from a sheet of aluminium
@@AllenMillyard watched it👍 the rest of the bike is a work of art😀 great sound too
Crikey, Tracy is a clever cookie, too. The old subtraction measuring trick to save on time and dishes. Black belts, the pair of you.
I imagine that would be an amazing sight on a full size circuit. If Tracy is taking orders on the baking, I’m in 😁
When your homemade hand built motorcycle sounds like a modern F1 engine.... WINNING.
Never mind that Dood Banksy You are a True Artist, Sir. I love watching lathe work I have the same Zeus measurement chart booklet, My Late father gave it to me 35 years ago.
Motorcycles, machine work and baking. Excellent combination!!
Brilliant video Allen lathe work and cookery I love it - the bike sounds unbelievable - itv will be ditching Henry and offering you prime time
It's been a long time waiting for it to finally upload, Mr. miliard, keep the spirit, sir, if you can upload videos often
I’m sorry I have a lot of ideas for new videos but it takes me a lot of time and it’s often weather dependant.
@@AllenMillyard Yes, it's okay, Mr. miliard, the important thing is to keep the spirit in making videos, greetings from Indonesia, because I'm from Indonesia
Great advice... from a man with no subscribers... 🙄
@@FoodFestTelevision who doesn't subscribe ?
@@AllenMillyard you mean to say there’s bad weather in the U.K.? Here in Oregon it’s 100F and fires everywhere!
I really enjoy your soft voice and demeanor when contrasted against the RC374. Brilliant machine, Mr. Millyard.
Brilliant video. You are a Genius Mr. Millyard. Absolutely and throughly enjoyed your story. ❤
Thanks mate it’s a pleasure and a privilege to watch you work. 👍🇦🇺
Always next level Allen. It's never that will do. Your a perfectionist. Great watching you work your magic
I think "he didn't make the faring screws did he?" only to follow with of course he did. Amazing work, an inspiration to humanity.
I've been watching this series since freakin 6AM. its so cool!
I watched you to learn motorcycle building...... Now, bonus content... I learn how to bake! Double whammy!
I want more of that wonderful sound!!!........and at FULL song!!!!!.........can't get enough!!!!
I've never seen anyone make their own screws before, it was beautiful to watch
The same carpark at Sammy's some years ago, on a random Sunday, that Agostini rode his MV around the same carpark dressed in his italian leather jacket looking cool as xxxx. It was amazing, the Rossi of his day.
just love your videos so much. funny, plenty of know-how, and your voice is very relaxing.
brilliant manufacture skills.
Awesome craftsmanship!! Looks just like my 1/12 Tamiya RC Honda I built about 55 years ago, but so much better and wow, a lot louder!! Thanks for your teaching us how the impossible can be done. Cheers, SC Van Swearingen, PE, CEng
Another gem by the genius himself
Great, just great. And happy to see you have memorialized old "'ear 'olin' Mike Hailwood", too. Great bike, great rider.
Nobody else in the world would use a vernier caliper to check the thickness of baking dough. Mr Millyard you are beyond genius. I would think you and Guy Martin would get on well!
The motorcycle show and great British bake off combined!!! Perfect!!!😂😂😂😂
Sounds awesome Allen, thanks for the bonus footage with the cakes as well!!
Motorbikes, cupcakes, and hedgehogs, oh my! This is a lovely little corner of the internet to come and visit. Keep up the great work!
Takes me back to Bray Hill in the IOM in the 60's with Mike Hailwood and Co at their best.
That may be the best sounding ANYTHING I have ever heard.
I was just talking yesterday to a friend about my time as an apprentice in the machine shop some 60 years ago. Seeing you making the aluminium screw from start to finish was a reminder of my time on a few lathes etc over the 6 months in the machine shop. I really enjoyed the complete job making the screw, not so interested in the cake making though. I saw Mike Hailwood at Brands hatch on a 4 cylinder Honda I seem to remember. An enjoyable 15 minutes watch.
This bike is stunning, a thing of sheer beauty. If I had your skills, I would build a second one to hang on the wall.
As an elderly Dane of 75 I do remember the Legend of Mike the Bike and his absurdly running competition bikes, sometimes at the very edge of the possible! And, as a former craftsman, it is always a joy to see someone who really knows how to use his tools!
I can't describe how loud that 6 is! Alan ran it indoors at Alexandra palace about 3 years ago. It actually killed the microphone on my phone. It's beyond loud
It sounds gorgeous, I've been lucky enough to see and hear it three times, and have actually touched it! (with Allen beside me)
Fantastic engineer, great guy, and amazing machines!
I now know how to take a fairing off and bake Viennece whirl biscuits! Awesome! Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
Keep coming back to these vids every so often. Every time I watch them, I'm just amazed by the pure genius that is Mr Millyard. Fantastic.
This channel, and build series is a true treasure. So glad I found it.
Nice to see the wizard back, Cheers
Wicked sounding bike. My neighbours would love to hear me coming home from work at 3am on this.
Attention to detail 👌 flat headed slotted screws...love it allen
Only in the UK you see a very interesting video off a true technical wizzard, and the making off some cookies. Thumbs up and what a humble man.
Always a pleasure to watch❤️
Love the baking shots too. I sure wish you were my neighbor. That bike is phenomenal!
I enjoy watching both you and your wife showcasing your craftsmanship.
The ASMR quality is astounding.
Awesome wish to see Mr Millard bikes colection live I'm really impressed
All best from 🇨🇦
I thought i was alone with how i think, but then you appear, proper old school engineer. Man to my old heart. Thankyou for sharing your genious👍
i love the contrast - beautiful shiny screw and Alans fingers!
The Allan millyard we see here is only a handbuilt replica by the real Allan Millyard, made to look and act human.
You never seem to stop amaze Allan
