I understand the disappointment with BB, but honestly, they were always priced too high on physical media. If others get more aggressive, I don't think we'll miss BB in the long run.
No one else will get more aggressive lol. Target barely has anything. Walmart is carrying less n less blu rays n 4ks and they don't carry many steelbook exclusives. Walmart is 60 to 70 percent dvds. I'm calling it now, by 2025 no physical media in Target and Walmart.

I don't want digital movies. I demand physical media because I get to own my movies forever without having to deal with stupid licensing and internet connectivity issues.

There are many rumours supposedly from store sources that JB HiFi - essentially the Australian version of Best Buy - will stop selling movies in 2024. Our Target and K-Mart already have, and Big W (essentially Walmart) too. So if JB HiFi pull out of selling movies, no major retailers will sell movies anymore in Australia in physical stores.
We had a store in NZ used to sell movies but then they stopped selling Blu ray and DVD movies but have one shop at a shopping centre still selling movies
I imagine it's very somber walking into a Best Buy now. There's still the light at the end of the tunnel though: online retailers selling physical media.

It's been a while since I've been to my local library because I have a graveyard shift and have to sleep during the day. One of these days, I should just wake up early to go to my local library and walk through the DVD section to see what movies they have there.

I watched Aquaman 2 and I liked it a lot. I watched the color purple musical movie and it was pretty good. Also, I watched poor things and it was a wacky wonderful fantastic movie
The "no music" playing in the Walmart, is by design and part of a recent move by the retailer to promote a less hectic, more pleasant shopping experience (and usually reserved for morning hours). Were you there before 10 a.m.? It was widely reported in the media. 🤓
this really will be an era ending without physical copies (Blockbuster closing was another one that kinda hit me..) i am german, i watch you since 2006ish - i discovered your channel when i lived in san diego for 3 years while studying abroad.. hence i thought it was so cool when you later moved there in ‘my area’😅 ..the don & murph days, the vlogs, the vids with your fam, your weight-loss journey, your routines, your reviews.. you just give me a sense of nostalgia, it kinda feels like home watching you🥹 i love you Sean! keep up doing your thing, being YOU.. the main core will always support & love seeing you🫶

It's going to be interesting to see if getting rid of physical media will have a noticeable effect on the amount of people going to Best Buy, if it does they'll come crawling back. Anyway I saw The Holdovers and really liked it but I don't see myself watching again. Not seen The Iron Claw yet but I'm a wrestling fan so I already know all about the Von Erichs and the so called curse that was on them. Dark side of the ring did a great episode on them.
I do really wonder if they will down the line do some exclusives but I hate that Best Buy acts like they are gods for physical media and can speak for what people want which is totally untrue
Im surprised best buy in America sold physical media for this long before calling it quits. Best buy in Canada stopped having a stocked physical media section as far back as 2011 in favor of one small section. Then by like 2017 it was only one small kiosk until they stopped selling them completely during covid. Its good to see your Walmarts still going strong as Walmarts here have significantly shrunk their physical media sections and ill be surprised if they even will still sell them within a couple of years sadly.

Hey Shawn! I picked up Saw X and Exorcist Believer the other day on dvd at Walmart. I have a store discount because my husband has worked for them for almost 30 years so i don't mind shopping walmart. Blockbuster has always been too expensive anyway. I also FINALLY found WNUF HALLOWEEN on dvd on ebay and haggled down the price and received it. Its out of print and not streaming anywhere so its hard to find. I also bought on eBay The Walking Dead season 11 to complete my collection. I'm very disappointed in it though because it's like they said oh well it's the last season. We're not going to make it special. There are no special features. Just a few deleted scenes. 😡😕😥

I agree...BB thinks a lot about themselves. I never went there to buy movies anyway. I'd buy movies at Walmart or online.

My local Walmart is cutting out physical Media and I'm not sure why I guess they don't make enough money from it to justify floor space for it

They didn't get rid of all physical media. Just movies and shows. Video games (at least at the moment) are still at BB.
