Love this, going to try it. Can you use extra virgin olive oil to fry in?

For frying it's usually better to use a neutral high smoke point oil, if you use olive oil it will make em taste a bit more like olives of course. Veg oil is usually what I use cause it doesn't tamper with the flavour too much and can withstand the higher heat with deep frying! Hope that helps a little bit!

It's been said but a neutral oil is best for fries. Olive oil is great, but it will add its flavor to things. which is great most of the time. Not so much for Fries if you ask me. And anyplace you go and get fries isn't cooking them in olive oil. That might be for cost but I'm sure if it were amazing people would be preaching it but most of the time people recommend against it. Now if you are asking scientifically could you fry a potato in olive oil, yes of course you could, and if that's all you got and you want some fries go ahead. But I think you will think it taste funny.

not sure what you mean exactly but I'm sure if you froze them right before you fry them, like after they were in the sauce. They would last a while and you could fry them like any normal frozen fry. You have to freeze them in a way they wouldn't stick together. Like on a tray. after they are frozen put them in a bag.

Just plain kosher salt works fine...
Add some freshly ground black pepper for a punch!

I hate deepfrying on my gas range... Makes a holy mess.
    Clutch using the butane stove.
I have big gas burners, but that is waaaaay messy and gotta be outside.
I'ma get 2 butane stoves and give this a try with seasoned fries and Lake Erie walleye!

same happens for me, so I deep fry in a big tall and deep pot. Works great and no oil splatters out of the pot!
