Let me know what you thought of this video!
You should also play dumb with a dealer so that you can see what kind of bs they're trying to put on you. Like ask about it and ask what causes it and they'll give you either something you knew was right or you knew was wrong.
+IAmHawkeye316 yes! Definitely.
If that's your prelude, mad props.
•Enoch• love the look of the 5th gen but love my 4th gen more
Trevor Philips the 4th gen front end is cool.. And the dash. That's about it.
E-blue-P Lude I fit easier in a 4th gen over a 5th gen. Currently own both but my lady drives the 5th
Tip: If the seller can't shut up and let you see things without saying a random shit about the car, he's most likely hiding something.
this guy was definitly nervous about selling his hidden problems..... you can clearly hear he´s trying to sell it as quick as possible. None of the problems was in the add
Kevon Boss yeah. You mean your best friend that will lie about the car for you for a cut of profits. Right
I agree with you.. If the seller won't shut up about the car and all the shit he's done to it the whole time you're trying to look at it and inspect it then there is definitely something wrong there.. Anytime I've ever sold a vehicle, I meet the people, say hello, introduce myself, I tell them that I'll be right over there if they have any questions about the vehicle and then I go the fuck away and let them look it over and talk amongst themselves! Nobody wants the seller right there breathing down your fuckin throat telling you about how they only use synthetic oil and how they changed it every 2000 miles just to be on the safe side and how they used "ONLY OEM" parts but don't have a single fuckin receipt for it.. Sorry, but if you've changed any parts that move pretty much, you should always keep the fuckin receipts.. I bet it is an OEM clutch, he got it straight out of the junk yard! He probably does have a receipt, he just doesn't want to show them that it's a receipt from U-Pull It! Lol
Tip: pay attention to body language
First of all I tell everything that’s wrong with the shit i sell than i’m clear! And stop talking
Bad sensor= I don't know what's wrong. Needs a tune up=runs like shit and I can't fix it. Needs a thermostat= it has a bad head gasket. Needs transmission filter = trans is shot.
0xXAllForNothingXx0 thats a trash can soon to be on the side of a road
0xXAllForNothingXx0 craigslist one o one.
Lmao SPOT ON!
Not always, depends on who the seller is. You can learn a lot just from talking to a person. Friend had a car that overheated...it was indeed the thermostat stuck closed. The owner was s mart though, he parked it when that happened.
But at a dealer, fuck yeah they are full of shit lol
never trust a guy wearing a Yankees jacket in Florida
Ha
There are a LOT of new yorkers in florida.
Can't trust any of 'em
i thought the same thing lol

You gotta be careful around everyone these days. I was walking down the street yesterday and a guy walked towards me and pulled out scissors. I'm sooooo happy I was agile enough to reach into my pocket and pull out a rock. Cus if I had pulled out paper, shit, I would have lost.
Cyanide Word Haven't geard of this joke yet, nice.
First time I heard this joke. Nice
Thought this was real until the "paper" part. Not sure wtf this has to do with this vid (ie, nothing), but still funny.

Two tips on buying a used car:
1. Have a mechanic inspect it
2. Buy from an old person (they almost never drive their cars hard and don't drive further that the grocery store).
Cheers.
Hard to find granny w/ an STI tho xD
you actually want a car that was driven by a old person who takes good care of it but short trips are not good actually
I ran into this same seller just a few weeks ago. He had a Ford Explorer Sport for cheap. Pictures looked great, clean, leather seats, etc. Arrive and vehicle was completely different than pics. I walked away right away. He was using pictures from another dealer on the west coast.
Orlando has a lot of shady dealers. I've been noticing a lot of flood vehicles popping up lately too.
I know this is an old comment but do you know where this dealership is by any chance?
I'd love a vid about buying used cars and what to look out for
LOVETAP TANDEMS not really necessary. Common sense shit. Bring a trustworthy mechanic to get it fully inspected.
ChrisFix has a great set of videos on that, step by step. Really informative and easy to watch
LOVETAP TANDEMS go check Chris fix' channel
Jan Martin Johansen Not one by Taylor though
yeah, and he asked if anyone wanted to see that type of shit at the end of the video fucking moron.
7:50 "you hit a deer?" "nah the deer hit me" 😂😂
Deer do run into vehicles quite often actually.
His point was he sounded dumb as fuck. It's not like it matters to the buyer whether the deer was at fault or not. He hit a deer plain and simple.
Thats how you say it. NEVER say you hit anything.
Tell that to the insurance company.
i came looking for this comment, too funny lmfao 😂😂
"The clutch is kinda high"
"Yeah you barely have to touch it to change gears"
He says that like it's a good thing lmfao
That's how those Infinitis are set up.
Sheehy how much pedal should you have to push to make it better ? I’ve had a couple Ford that once you are driving you only have to push pedal down 1/2” to shift
Krom Life you should always push it all the way down neverthless
Juan Rios hell no, you wasting clutch. only put it all the way down when trying to put it in first gear.
@@TrickyRayGamingg i dont think u understand how a clutch works
Guy is talking too much. This is a bad sign. A good car will sell itself. A bad car needs someone to make excuses for it.
yu should start a "used car salesman bullshit" segment where yu go look at used cars and bust their balls for everything they lie about like that guy! lol
Don't bust their balls so its super obvious, but small subtle things that make no sense and see if he agrees.
Haha hell yeah! That would be worth while and funny to watch.

WHAT FUCK THE
That's not a legit dealer, that's a flipper probably selling cars with rented dealer plates which is illegal in all 50 states. People get scewed all the time by these crooks. You should go to the DMV with this video.
mleindek A lot of dealers are scams. Man I got a car from a dealer and broke down the next day.
jamar bell you must be a kid lol
Dealer talked waaaaay too much and tried to justify what was wrong with the car he was talking to both of you like neither of you had prior knowledge of cars in general, probably how he gets most of his sales. A car shouldn't crank over like that , especially a car that is only 10 years old with 130k.
BRO that was painful to watch(the car seller) you and Marco are super patient because I wanted to tell that seller to STFU like 12 seconds in.
evan mm same xD
after he started talking tooo much I would've walked away lol...

Yes pls make a video on how to look for cars or Craigslist! It would personally help me and I'm guessing many others too.
Anthony Aguilera Chrisfix has a really good video on it
Anthony Aguilera I bought an RSX off Craigslist without test driving or getting inspected. Dumbest shit ever, I know. But so far all I've done is replaced the battery which I think was my fault. Had 96k. Has 107 now. I put about 30 miles on it a day from highway driving.
Hasnt maybe maybe some battery last 4 year or chargering system anit working probably
Javier Herrera nah, there were a few times I left my lights on
Anthony Aguilera best piece of advice is find what car you like and hit up some forums to see common issues with the car. Also just learn the basic mechanics. Or make friends with a mechanic and never ever go alone to buy a car salesmen are slick.
Quit making those dope intro cuts with the music, i don't wanna compete with that

I think a used car buyer's guide episode would be great from your perspective. Also something that I see a lot of youtubers ignoring is sourcing parts. You should do a video on how to source everything from tires to bolt ons and teach people about what to look out for. Where you can cheap out and where you can't.
Good call! I'll add that to the list.
I bought a g35 sedan recently for 800 dollars but it's an auto lol it needs body work that's all
Henry The Heartless I doubt that
David B you can't give away g35's here in Ontario lol. I believe him
did u swap it yet paco
that dude seemed seriously sketchy Taylor lol.
My dad got an 04 g35 4 door with a stick for 10k with 60k miles and it rips. We took it on a road trip all around the country too and it gave us no problems. Watching this video showed me just how lucky my dad was to find that car.
I wish there was a way to ban brokers and dealers from using the for sale by owner section instead of dealer. They flood the owner page with their bullshit cars.
Chris Atkinson You can tell by 3 things.
1. Dealer cars will be detailed and have foot protectors on the carpet.
2. The license plate is a dead give away. If the plate is off the car then it's almost always a dealer. If there's a towel over the plate or a finger/edit then it's almost always a legit seller. Of course most ppl don't seem to care and they show their plates anyways.
3. If the price is like 6995. Or 4945 or some weird price is sometimes a dead giveaway.
Once you get some one who talks a lot while buying a car. That's a red flag
subie_cuhh ya definetly. when i sold my car few months back i didnt say a word unless asked a question. you dont have to if everything is good with the car.
Exactly plus the person who came to see the car most likely did his research before coming lol
Yeah, the car should speak for itself.
subie_cuhh gud to hear..
subie_cuhh lmao I don’t want someone to not talk at all you lil wierdo
Bottom line rule. Buy a car with a clean title, no wrecks, and original engine and transmission. Have an OBD scanner to scan any codes. If it's something suspicious, shut the car off and walk away.
Chevyblock 550 what if it's pre obd2?
Kato Felix drive it and look at the engine with you're eyes
This is bad advice. Buying a car that has been in a minor crash is not a big deal at all, as long as it was fixed ok. Engine and transmission replacement are also fine if they were done by a reputable shop and everything looks good.
Chevyblock 550 So basically a brand new car?
Chevyblock 550 If you know the history of the car buying a previously wrecked car could be a good deal, depending on who did the repair work and where they got their parts from.
I always tell my friends to go with me or I go with them to buy a car. It's always great to have somebody else to ask questions that u never thought of.. Great team work👍👍👍
My formula is buy a 4 or 5 year old car from NEW car dealers. They are dying to get rid of them. They will not be able to sell anything older. Got some great cars this way.
weldrocks that's a good way right there. probably low miles and a couple owner's
New car dealers CAN sell older cars. They just refuse to price accordingly & those older models dont "fit" into all the nonsence games the salesmen play. U can only mark a $3000 car up so high.
Depends if you finance it or not..because brand new cars go for 0.9-3% interest maximum...
Used they are 4.9-6.9%+
Sometimes you have better payment buying brand new..they also dont finance for more then 8years if im not mistaken...if you buy cash then no problem
@@vincevegacustoms754 if you buy cash it's never a problem to any dealer I bet

A heavy clutch can make your car drive like shit when you daily it.

If it doesn't start during the first 3 to 4 seconds. Something is wrong, lol. Nowadays, you need to bring a code reader just to buy a used car. That was a good looking car though. Worst case scenario you would have to put a new motor in it. But the rebuilt title means he got it for cheap and fixed it himself. Usually the wheels end up with bad alignment and you have to replace lots of bent parts that they overlook. Best thing is to look at the blue book value and shop from there. You can find a 10,000 from a private owner and talk them down with a good conversation.
6:37 Oh, jeez.
yeah that would already make me go "no thank you"
YITT sounded like shit 😂
Lmfaoooo if I heard that I’d just walk away
I always make a mental note of, "worst case scenario." when a dealer says, "It's just a sensor."
I bet that guy paid around 500$ fr that car when it was crashed at an auction
you won't even get ripped off like this on Craigslist Lmaooo why do dealers think we car guys are straight stupid or something Hahahaha

JakeSFN that's sooo true haha
Rebuilt title I would have just left after that
Dick Wolf most do but then when you find a good one it's cheap asf and just as good
Exactly LOL
My policy with rebuilt titles is "If im not the one who wrecked it, I dont want it". Some buyers just dont want a rebuilt title case closed.
What about re built engines

That's what I was going to say he's trying to distract you with BS talk that's a sign that he's nervous you're going to find out what's really wrong with the car
I sold a project car once, and I didn't shut the hell up because there WAS so much wrong with it that I wanted to make sure the seller was aware of. Dude appreciated the honesty and drove the car home that day, no negotiations, no bullshit.
13:34, I completely agree with you. I never get close to automotive dealers like the one in this video. I will rather deal with a private individual wanting to sell his/her automobile. This is a great lesson. Thank you sharing this video.
oh my God this guy can write a whole book of the history of the car lol
My dad used to be a dealer self employed and ever since I was little about 6 I've been looking at cars and he still occasionally buys and sell them. So listening to this dealer was painful he was such an ass to about everything . Good job not buying it.
Dang that dude was sketch!
This guys shut his friend down quick. Thats what true friendship looks like lol
Ismael Alvarez
of course warning alarms should be going off right away since the seller is a gentleman of persuasion
Dude bro! Being someone who buys cars on a national level. A lot of Florida cars are just as corroded as northern cars. It's due to the salt air.
That thing is totally a rebuilt wreck in the front. Look at the gap from the hood to the bumper. Or the obvious color difference between the bumper and fender.
Same. Flipping cars in HI is hard from all the salt water and constant sand and red dirt stains.
yeah they said the salt water thing was bullshit but its not. i live literally right next to the beach and most cars that arent brand new have rusted brakes.
Luke Rodgers doesn't matter is just superficial rust, it won't do anything, but if your ass wants it, go ahead and get it cleaned and then protected which will costs hundreds
Thumbed up. In some ways the constant "salt air" of living even several miles from a beach is damaging to a car in ways even snow+salted roads in the upper Northeast isn't. Whereas a NE car typically gets eaten away at the lower half (up into its shock/strut towers), a beach car can see damaging rust EVERYWHERE, including to its roof and window areas. Also even if you park your car in an enclosed space, any kind of ventilation can let salt in. And you better not drive it in the rain... In the NE at least, you don't have to worry about salt 3 out of the 4 seasons.
Really though, regardless of where you live, most of this kind of stuff can be mitigated with attentive cleaning. I've also noticed that certain manufacturers' cars stand up to the test of time and elements better than others. German cars, for all the flack they get, seem to have way less rust-problems on their body panels and structural core components than most Japanese and domestic cars.
so was it one of those buy here pay here places?
It's a good idea when going to look at a car to ask the seller "can I have some time alone to look at the car" or maybe bring a friend and let your friend talk to the seller while you give the car a good check out.
Lol yeah rebuilt Florida title. Run! Water damage 😜
The idle on the G sounded like a diesel lol
Taylor's uploads make me so happy man
That engine startup said it all.. when it takes so long to start a petrol when its not really cold something is wrong. engine knocks slightly, rough idle, loud when coasting.. this looks like a true lemon, and a rebuild of the engine is not worth the cost
Dont be scared to buy rebuilt just know what to look for when buying. Check under the hood for anything, scan obd2 if possible or if the check engine light is on, test drive it, and if possible ask what was fixed to make it rebuilt. Most used dealers get cars from the auction that come with a salvage title but when transfered it turns into rebuilt. It might have been stolen, repossessed or involved in an accident. A piece of paper is just a piece of paper at the end of the day.
Please make a video on buying used cars. I'm almost 16 and I started saving up for a car but obviously I can't afford a brand new car so that video would be great help when the time comes. Thanks Taylor your videos are amazing. 🙏🏽👍🏽
Aslan Tate look at Chrisfix's buying guide it's pretty close to Taylor's I got a mazda 626 for $400
this was last year when I was 17
Today I went looking for a used car to get me back and forth to school. The car I wanted to buy was really nice but looks can be deceiving. I let the car run with the ac on for about 10 minutes to make sure there was no smoke, leaks, or smells coming out of the vents. Everything seemed to be ok so we took it for a test drive. While on a straight flat road I took my hands off the wheel to test the alignment. It was horrible, it pulled to the left after 2 seconds when I let go of the wheel. I was still determine to but the car so I kept going with the test drive. After a minute I start smelling oil coming from the vents meaning there was some type of leak or no oil at all in the car. I told the seller about the problem and he didn't offer to go lower on the price or offer to fix it (bad sign). I then pulled back into the dealer ship and lifted the hood of the car to check the oil. The car had zero oil and it was steaming pretty bad. I was still determine to get the car (idk why I just likes the looks of the car and thought these minor issues could be fixed) I asked if he had any oil that I could put into the car and he went to get some. He then proceeded to pour the oil in the car and when he was done I went to cut the car on. That bitch didn't even start man I was so depressed because it was my dream car and I saved so much money to get that car but that just goes to show you that even though the car looks good and the dealer made it seem to be good it still could be shit. The seller didn't even want to budge on the price even after all the issues I told him about, not to mention that it had a cracked windshield so that already threw a red flag up.
Jst sayit bruh, idk about you but that car doesn't sound like it looked good to begin with. I mean there's a car you look at like a project car and a car you look at like a daily driver. Back and forth to school, man that's a daily driver. And if the "dealer"(In this case slime bag) isn't even smart enough to know to check the damn oil before someone comes to look at the car, there's a problem anyway. That means it's not been maintained well and more than likely mistreated. I'm glad that car didn't start because if it did and you bought it, I'm almost positive you'd be regretting it bro. Best of wishes, I hope you found something a lot better.
seriously? a car with that many problems and you were still gonna buy it? duuude
My pop was a mechanic. The amount of people that still buy the vehicle/motorcycle he clearly tells them is not worth the price or headache is astounding. Excitement and desire takes over common sense. People show up with junk and pay decent coin for it.
After having my last few EXCELLENT cars im astounded by all the just over 100,000 mile cars gushing oil everywhere & not having ANY maintenance done on them whatsoever. & sellers lying. I saw a motor FULL of sludge seller said "oil was changed 500 mi ago". GTFO here.

In my 14 years experience buying and selling used cars, ive learned that it all comes down to how much you are paying that reflects on condition, however there is always those scammers out there that will try to sell you a beat up car almost for the price of a new car,
#1 rule to buying a used car,Stay away from delaerships or people that work at dealerships trying to sell cars on the side.
#2 Do your research on the car that you will be looking at.
#3 Always look for signs of bs that sellers do to keep your eyes away from finding a major issue, never go alone, its always good to have an extra pair of eyes when buying a car.
#4 Always look carefully at the paperwork.
#5 Test drive, test drive it hard, that way you know if something is about to break, leak or overheat.
Johnny Rodz Rule number one should be pay a mechanic before buying a car to inspect the car. Friends aren’t car experts and usually only look for cosmetic damage

It made for a pretty entertaining afternoon.
In today's upload Adam was just talking about the perfect miata episode where you guys basically do a video on looking for a good used car. Coincidence?? Lol
good video. My 2009 accord coupe was a rebuilt title. Great car and got a good deal from a private sale. Huge difference in my seller and the one in the video. You can tell he was hiding so much in the video by non-stop talking. Rebuilt titles aren't even that bad if the seller is honest and you do your due diligence. I never had any issues with my rebuilt accord and drove it until early this year when i got hit from behind.
+arjunsecondary I've never worried about rebuilt titles. They just kill resale value because everyone else does.
couldn't agree more!
Oh for sure I love my Rebuilt E92 had it over a year now and only repair I did was an alternator which took me 15min (other than reg maintenance oil, fluids etc.)
my sister's car was rebuilt after a MINOR accident. Rebuilts can be a stealll
yeah i just bought a G37S sedan its a salvage title but my cousin built it and so complete trust in him lol
I would've walked as soon as he said rebuilt title if he hid that who knows what else he's hiding
A lot of those small dealers buy wrecked cars at auctions and patch them up. That's why he mentioned he had parts cars so he had put that infinity together himself. That's why a legitimate bank will never finance you for a used car out of those dealers.
I knew once that guy started talking he was gonna be sketchy

Why don't you sell your friend one of you reliable cars if you have too many?
Many southern states allow dealers to rebuild salvage titled cars-there was a case where a woman was killed (the roof of her car collapsed in a rollover). Turns out the new roof was welded on improperly.
Priceless (9:28-9:36)

I remember when I bought my LS400 right off of 192 in Kissimmee.. Guy was really honest but the car needed way more work than I thought. Best thing to look out for is body language and intentions.. I bought a good car in the end. Still drives like it's new at 206k miles.
Before u buy look at a used car with a cheap price tag, always ask the right questions. I always ask if it's rebuilt, because plenty don't list it. Also ask them if you can look under it on a hoist, it will tell you alot. Usually if someone sells a car cheap with one or two problems, you have to add 10 more to the list
I'd be interested in a how to buy a used car video. I'm 0 for 2 at buying good cars so I need help. lol
Before buying it? Look it up on the You Tube for Reviews about it and prearrange with a Dealer to have them Inspect it for you, most will charge $25-$50 to do so..Sometimes, the Dealer will buy it for you and resell it and finance it back to you..
JJM certified preowned
JJM you can also hire a nice mechanic who can come inspect the vehicle with you. and also do lots of research on recalls and reviews on the car. homework can save you money
Selna Goodhead dealers would really buy a used car and finance it too you 😮😮 I did not know that interesting info
michael miranda this is what I do for all my friends. I have walked up and just from smelling the car called out what is wrong with it.
Recent new subscriber. My first comment here! That salesman was a total BSer! Little did he know, that he was trying to BS a master mechanic! Lol! You both handled it very well though and were very polite to him despite probably the urge to tell him like it is. Love your channel and I'm having a great time browsing through all of your old vids that I missed before I found this place. Keep up the great work!
BTW, what is that black car body shell that's hanging above your workbench in the background? Looks like a pretty large Porsche body? Looks pretty cool!
I wouldn't go so far as to say master mechanic, but we do know our way around a car. Mainly from experiencing of making the mistake of buy POS cars. lol
It's a porsche I believe. It's my roommates.
Wow, thanks for the reply. You definitely know your way around a car to say the least! Those cars that need attention are thankful to guys like you, as you give them a "new lease on life" and a chance to be on the road again! Love what you're doing with the Vette. I currently own a C4 and looking to step up to a C5, which is how I found your channel. I'm also a Porsche nut and that car body above your workbench caught my eye. Looks like a 993. Any other info on it? Manufacturer? I'd love to have one of those myself. Thanks!
Al ex unless you are getting paid to fix car, you aint no mechanic son
I'm 63 and I've bought over 30 cars in my lifetime. This car has a weak engine that sounds like a 4 cylinder instead of 6. And if you're buying from an individual and he keeps talking, that's a bad sign. If it's a good car, the owner/seller will let the car do the talking. If it's a hot day, turn the AC on full blast and start the car w/o pushing on the gas. If there is a lull, something is wrong. Now, get the car on the open road up to say 50 mph. Depress the brake and take your hands off the wheel. If the car comes to a full stop w/o any sounds and doesn't move either left or right, it stays straight until you come to a complete stop, that's a good sign. If it veers either left or right, it's out of alingment and could be damaged in the steering mechanism. Finally if you get the car up to say about 70 and it shimmys, it has probably been in a front end collision. So get the feel of the car. Feel if it's tight. That's good. And finally finally open all the doors and push them shut, If they swing freely and close tightly, that's good. If the interior looks like it's been well cared for, that's a sign the owner has probably maintained it well, regular oil changes, greased up, flush the radiator. And look at the battery posts. If they are clean with no green acid residue, that means it's been taken care of. Your welcomed.
Look at the MASSIVE gap in the body line all around the hood lmao
used car dealers are crooks 85% of the time in my experience. The nature of the business is just slimy. Basically they buy dealer reject cars at auction lol. I mean that is a lot of there business anyway.
Andrew Kerman I got a $1600 grand am gt with nothing but bald back tires and some iffy power steering fluid. 140,000 miles :)
Zachary Smith-Clark how has it been running?
"their" business.
Andrew Kerman i probably found the only honest used car dealer in texas. bought a 2003 ford f150 with 120000 miles for 5000. he told me all it needed was front berrings replaced. did that and now have almost 300000 miles and drives like new. no problems with anything. this guy does a lot of buisness because of his honesty.
Andrew Kerman they're not dealer reject cars.. my boss/partner is in this business and sells over 20 cars a month per location and majority of the cars are rebuilt but minor damaged cars (bumpers, fenders) small hits or just bodyshops that mess up paint jobs and shit and they're all 2015+ cars. Mainly accident cars or off lease cars. I don't think you know much about the auctions or this business. I got my 2016 frs with 1200km (Canada, kilometers, so like 700 miles I think?) For $8500. Minor fender and bumper hit. No frame damage, everything intact. Needed minor pull and suspension was replaced. $11500 after parts, my labour and some other people's in our shop and paperwork and gettingthe sticker for the plate and tax. Saved over 15k plus taxes. Original owner had the car for a month and paid 30k+tax for it. Now I drift the car and daily it in the summer. Also got my 2016 Sentra sv for 11500 all in which i drive as a daily. Saved a ton on that too. Auction cars are great. I've seen Bentley's (2014-2015 ish) and other high-end cars with no major damage (literally just needs a new bumper and a few small parts and paint and it's fixed go into auction and sell for 40-50% of what it's worth.
