How much CO2 is used to flush a full 19L keg? Is it worth it? Yes it is! Unless you hate fresh hops!

Dude you are still the king of coming up with super useful original content. I do it this way or more often I use fermentation co2. But to know how little co2 I’m really saving is super useful! Plus I use a 20lb co2 tank, it’s about half the price per keg!
Thanks very much mate, Cheers!
I found I'd just hook up gas out from my fermzilla to my keg full of sanitizer and by high krousen, all the sanitizer is back in the 20ltr drum and blowing bubbles then, I'd disconnect the keg and attach my sounding valve. Worked a treat
I dont use sanitiser, well not traditional sanitiser, I like to use SMB for extra Oxygen killing insurance, and I often dont like the aromas yeast can throw even though most gets pushed out of the keg on filling , I dont want it in my keg, and I find it clumsy and in the way in my brewery to have kegs sitting in front of my keg fridge.. and.. lol I dont always have the keg there ready to sit through the ferment. I could add more reasons hahaha I like to do it just as Im about to use it, it just works for me. Though this was really just to show how little CO2 it actually uses since I hear these ridiculous numbers people come up with saying much CO2 they waste. In the scheme of things, it's bugger all. I have done it your way before, I think I had it in a video somewhere, but I stopped using star san. Cheers mate!
Or could purge it from your spunded fermenter for free
I'm not telling anyone what to do.. lol.. Still good to know it's not that expensive
Would lower psi use less? I would have thought that you’ll use the same volume, just slower.
yeah it does use slightly less, not much but its less, i couldnt go into much detail in 60 seconds, but ultimately you bring the whole keg to the pressure you want it before transfer, its 2psi compared to 12psi then yeah the kegs going to hold slightly more co2.
