- I felt I HAD to do a vid about this wonderful machine! How the hell I've managed without one for so long, gawd only knows. I'm not a pro and certainly not a proper woodman (ain't it obvious?) - just a punter that's chuffed to bits with this great bit of kit!
I have just bought one and your video explains and demonstrates it much better than the official site - thanks!
this looks like a beast, I just bought the 7 ton model. great vid.
Thanks for this. Have been wrestling with which splitter to go for, but this has now tipped the balance in favour of the duo-cut so cheers!
still using mine after 5 years only got round to changing the oil this season ,great machine i have to say
My allen key bolts were really tight and I had hell of a job undoing them even with the cutter moved half way along. Also on mine the clamp was already fitted. Great video, helped me greatly.
Just about to buy a splitter ,Your vid helped a lot
Thank you,
Just bought one of these seems quite a good machine the stand was a bit of a bugger fitting some of the bolts were difficult to get as spanner on .also didnt realise the bleed screw had to be open all the time you were using it ,also had 3 nuts and bolts over dont know where they were supposed to go
Excellent review down to earth sort of chap thank you
Now on my 4th year with this splitter had no problems at all make sure the front of the machine is slightly tilted backwards to allow the oil to flow
Backwards? Is that up or down?
Like the reminder writing on the deck. Important to save your machine
It's an age thing, Matt.
Very god jod, good guy (and funny) any way, ame French and seriously your explanation for use this Logmaster it's very good. Many thk Juan (sud de France) ;)
i want one ,great vid thanks
You don't want to start with the lever down and then turn the motor on. That's a good wat to burn out the capacitor. Always start the motor (or better yet let it run steady) until it's fully running, then push the lever down. I'd actually wire the motor so it stays on all the time. It would be easier on it instead of turning it on and off all the time.
looks a good little tractor youve got
+ronatholl Massey Ferguson. Few teething troubles to begin with but now some of the 'safety measures' have been tweaked, it's a goodie!
Hi m8 hows your splitter performing ? mine seems to be losing a bit of power and seems to be struggling a bit theres no oil leaks on it i wonder if you have to top up the hydraulic oil
Have better system with out the wedge , its called a shear and 8 inch x 3/8 wide and makes kindling plus rewired for using just one hand ,larger tires and so on. Patent filed in 2014 .
details ! what are you talking about.
Do you have a link?
Didc you ever get round to fitting the Stand ?
+ronatholl Nope! Instead, I mounted the thing onto a small trailer so I'm able to tow it around the place to wherever it's needed (remembering to shut off the bleed screw whilst doing so, of course). Neat idea, eh?
+TietjenUK yes sounds like a Plan , the Stand was a bit awkward getting to all the nuts
do you need to use oil with this and if so where dose it go?????????
+mmattys30 Er... I fear I'm not a technical bod (as the video shows) but I do know there's oil in it somewhere because that's why you have to tighten the 'bleed screw' before moving it around. Personally I've not had to add oil and wouldn't know what kind or where I should put it (no naughty suggestions thank you). The Forest Master team are very helpful and I would contact them if I had a problem; use this link to get to them (there's a phone number at the bottom).

I'd be grateful if you'd post the info here when you get an answer - it'd help everybody. Kind regards, Pete
+mmattys30 comes already filled with oil 2 and a half Litres i think the FM10 they recommend changing the oil every 150 hours so probably will never need changing . the drain plug and combined dipstick are by the Bleed screw
