- "Country House" is a song by English alternative rock band Blur. It was released as the lead single from the band's fourth studio album, The Great Escape (1995), on 14 August 1995 by Food and Parlophone. Released on the same day as the Oasis single "Roll with It" - in a chart battle dubbed the "Battle of Britpop" - "Country House" reached number one in the UK Singles Chart (the first of two Blur singles to reach number one, the second being 1997's "Beetlebum"). The song is the band's best-selling single, with over 540,000 copies sold as of May 2014. Its music video was directed by Damien Hirst and nominated for Best Video in the 1996 BRIT Awards.
Played on my Fender 56 NOS Custom Stratocaster fitted with Kinman Impersonator 54 v3 pickups on Middle position through an an Alesis Quadraverb Q2 with EFTP patch 1-66 Abbey road reverb..
Sound recorded in Cubase SX6 and edited with the three 4K Video takes made with 3 Panasonic VX870 4K camcorders in Song Vegas Pro 14

It lines up perfectly with Blur’s official video which was dead handy !!

Nice take on ‘ Blurr’s ‘ hit song, a great rendition with a good strong driving sound and beat, one I would have never guessed you would have come up with. A good cover and you played along well with the bt like it was all recorded together. Excellent post, full marks my friend .

Hi Ian - so pleased I've found someone who remembers it !! If you remember back in the day you either liked Blur or Oasis - you weren't allowed to like both. Hi Krishna - funny and spooky is a good way of describing it. I remember when it first came out and was quite unusual then but not quite as unusual as "Parklife" their other big hit which came out a year earlier. - It's still a bit damp here for spring guess it has to improve soon.. Hi a funny song and i think Blur was a good band but it came a lot of British bands at that time and they were stuck in the middle. They was not so populare in Sweden. You play the song so great and dont think anyone can do it better.

No Phil! Love your playing but Blur are shiiite. Please learn some Oasis songs instead? Have a listen to Champagne Supernova by Oasis, absolute masterpiece, would love to hear you play along to that. Also, do you like Madness? I think you would do a beautiful cover of "It Must be Love" by Madness, so check it out and see what you think?
