- SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - A “Lady of the Evening” was shot while working on Fig near 69th St. She could be seen surrounded by other “workers” as LAPD and LAPD arrived. The victim was taken to the hospital by LAFD with CPR in progress. LAPD blocked the area off with yellow tape. All lanes of Figueroa are blocked due to the incident.

Cpr in America looks different don't think your supposed to stop and start as you fancy and where's his team to back him up
Ou never transport like that while people still stopping and starting cpr, you have to get them stable at the scene first even if that means putting them in an induced coma. You only move them in that situation for a specific reason and your only allowed to do it if you have a surgeon and doctor on site. This was shocking to see. American ambulances watch some videos on the UK life or death collisions and see how quick a surgeon is sent when things are bad. They can even perform syrgery at the roadside to make sure the person makes it to hospital. The way that was handled I wouldn't be surprised if any of those personnel contributed to things being worse

I'm not in the health care field but I believe in the US doctors are not sent to the scene of the accident. You only get to see the Dr or surgeon once you are transported to the hospital by ambulance. The only care you get at the scene of the accident is by paramedics and they will try to stabilize you. Sounds like much better care is given in the UK than US

Healthcare is not something we worry about as far as having to afford it, also the charity saint John's ambulance offers free cpr training to anyone who wants it. As a parent I go every year so I ensure I'm up to date with all the latest policies as they change so often. I feel very lucky to live in a country where we have government sponsored universal health care system. Granted its not always 100% but they are amazing they always do their best your always able to be treated no matter what is wrong and I'm not in a lifetime of debt over an inhaler

I'm from the UK we don't have fire dept doubling up as paramedics, I get why it's necessary in the UK because of the amount of crimes, the vastness of the country and severity of car crashes however I would not want to be treated by this set up, many lives must be lost the amount of traffic accide t I have watched in America no aid is given until they are out the vehicle in the UK, paramedic, doctors and surgeons are on scene doing the same work on people as the would in a hospital, it's totally different but obviously this could not work in America, too much going on so very sad
