Career Success when they ask how soon are you looking to start? Recently interviewed and they were on board with me giving my old employer two weeks notice
When the director told me that I'm gonna be working with these kind of people. When he said that this will be the things that we'll be doing. The hiring manager also said that I have a big disadvantage because of my background.
Applying for a position at a food processing company, the hiring manager got the production staff to send up a sample of a newly launched product, gave it to me to take home and then she asked me to reply with my thoughts. By the afternoon of the following day, an offer was on the table for the role.

Most interviews are already a done deal. My mother was an interviewer for many years and she revealed employers already have a good idea who they want to give the job to before the interviews even start. It takes an exceptionally bad performance by the chosen candidate or an exceptionally good performance by the others to change their minds.

One of my interviews was like that. We talked back and forth about other things like psychology, games, exercising, etc. The manager even offered to walk me around the office! He told me they will let me know again in the following week if I have been shortlisted. Unfortunately, I haven't heard from him for a little more than a week. I went to check the job post and it is still open. I am not sure what to think of this...

At the end of an interview for a job I was a bit lukewarm about, the interviewers said "We want you to know that we are still interviewing ...". Rather than giving a textbook interview response I said, "I understand. So am I." I got a call with an offer the same evening.
Congratulations on the offer,! We appreciate you sharing a great example of options for responding. However, it looks like your selection of response worked great.. Thanks for visiting the Career Success Channel. Best wishes.
If they tell you they're still interviewing other candidates means most likely they're wasting your time. Simple facts. I'm older now and will not do anymore than two interviews. It wastes my time. Either you want me or you don't.
A sign that I got towards the end of the interview was, the interviewer who was the department manager was, she waived my resume and said “I’ve already made my decision”

A lot of times, employers conduct fake interviews. Meaning, they already know who they want to hire, but corporate requires a certain amount of interviews. I've been on a few of those before. I've even been on interviews, where I thought i got the job and didn't. Why would an employer keep you in an interview for over and hour and not want to offer you the job? What a waste of time. Then, you find out who they hired and it's someone with barely an experience. Few months later, they called me back and offered me the job. Of course, I declined. Who wants to work for a company who thought you were second best and now they want me on their team.
Before my boss hired me, he said, “we’ve completed our interviews and we’d like to do a background check. Is there anything you want to tell me before we proceed?” I almost laughed, but I just replied, “No, my record is clean.” I guess that was my sign I got the job.

I had a interview today for Respiratory Therapist. The interviewer complimented me and told me she can tell I’m a calm person and that I was very professional. I also got the wide eye reactions and nods like you mentioned like she was astonished by some of my answers.
So my special perk was that a commission-based company pays $300 a day for training. And the same company a big saying I noticed that they wanted to hire me was that my third interview was 90% about filling out a new-hire packet
They said in a follow up replying to my thank you email that she agreed that I would be a great fit for the position. This is after she gave me a tour and introduced me to employees and asked when I would be able to start. Job is between me and three others. Got the second interview with the owner to meet him and they said they were impressed with my resume and was happy that I sent a cover letter which they asked for but apparently didn’t receive many. Just waiting for the final guy to finish their second interview and they said they will get back to me regardless of the answer shortly after that. One of the main signs is when she was highly considering me on her list of candidates. Also, she was asking for my advice on how I would feel taking on a mobile app project and multiple design projects. She also loved how I made a chart of all the accomplishments from my last jobs.
Just had an interview and she asked me, “what are you going to miss most about leaving your current job?” I answered just leaving the people because I love everyone I work with. Her response was, “it’s always bittersweet going to a new job!” This feels like such a good sign but UGH I can’t stop overthinking until I get the official answer 🤣

I had a job interview yesterday and it went pretty good. It lasted about a half hour but it isn’t guaranteed that I’ll get the job but I hope I do. Yesterday they told me hopefully they’ll call me Thursday (tomorrow) for some decision making. They only have one position. Keeps my fingers crossed. Had one last week too so hopefully I hear from them soon as well, whoever contacts me first.
I went to a job interview and they asked me when would I be able to start also they told me what benefits they have and introduced to all the staff members and gave me a tour to every single space of the facility and showed me the program that they use there. They also told me that I have a great resume and they think I be great for that position. I should hear back in a few days he has other interviews pending . The interview lasted more than 1 hour. I hope I really get this job.
Interviewer said they think I’d be a good fit, when I said my job is offer 13.50 for me to stay they said they can do better, and and they contacted my references called for a second interview 4 hours after the first
Saw this video today and I am in the process of hearing back from a company for the second round of interviews this coming week. I hope this is a good sign.
Hello and thanks for sharing the success of your perk request. We are happy that it worked out in your favor. We appreciate you stopping by the Career Success Channel. Best of luck.
Hi Carmen, Thanks for commenting! That is a great benefit to have! How has it worked out? Be sure to subscribe to our channel if you have not done so yet!
Hi Conor, Thank you for your comment on the Career Success channel. Sometimes, Employers get excited and passionate sharing the opportunity with a candidate. I've been in an interview where they referred to me in the role and I didn't get the position. Refer back to this video before your next interview to identify those signs. We also have videos on interviewing signs that things didn't go well. I recommend you watch both and look for the signs. Thank you again!
I had an interviewer just give up during my interview and say the following:- " I have interviewed quite a few people. I could do more interviews but what is the point. I'm sick of interviewing people". "You start on Wednesday!".
We spoke about 35 min, she gave me all the info I needed. We didn't talk about numbers. She wanted face to face the following day and I chose the earliest slot. I sent an email after the interview, thankging them for her time. They didn't respond back but I knew it was because they were busy. Interview face to face went great, she introduced me to her right hand and the boss. I have 3 job offers, "the one" and I will sign paperwork in 2 days. But I will wait to sign before I turn down the rest. My field is recruiting so I know how interviews go. One of the other offers I spoke to the Manager for a total of 1hr and few minutes. When interviews go longer than 20 min it's likely that they really do want you and want to find more about you. Always feel confident in your skills and if you lack on something work on it. And all the points she said are correct.
I recently had an interview on Friday. 1) The interviewer asked me about other interviews. 2) It went over the expected time 3) The interview became more conversational 4) I sent a thank you letter and received a response right away. However, I was told they are still interviewing other candidates. What does this mean?
Thank you for leaving a comment. It sounds like you had a great interview experience. It is normal that even if a company really likes you that they may still want to interview others, even if to only compare them against your interview experience. I would say to simply keep thinking positive thoughts and continue your job search. What is meant for you will definitely be yours. I promise.
hey @key House, I am in the same situation, they are telling me they'll come up with me with final division in 2 weeks. I wanted to know that did you get that job and how much time it takes to get response from them? Thanks in advance!
If an employer really wants to hire you, they'll start mentioning the benefits you'll receive aa an employee. They may even show you where your office is located and introduce you to your coworkers or to your employees.
Longer than normal interviews was the sign that they were interested in hiring me (2×2 hours). I also got 15 minutes 'private' time with an employee that would be my direct colleague to find out what she really thought of her manager. And tough questions about my knowledge and my ideas about the future direction of my field of work. The best question the manager himself asked was 'what was the last conflict you had with your manager'. I got the job, I'll be 50 next month - so don't let that discourage you in any way :)
Hello great video. Just had an interview last Friday where they ended it with “you should be receiving an email from Talent Acquisition for reference checking “ and then I was walked around and spent an additional hour with the current manager doing the job not the hiring manager. Fingers crossed. Perk would be paying all healthcare costs.
I've sent a thank you note. and this is their response. "It was a pleasure speaking with you and having an opportunity to learn about your interests and skill set. John and I will be discussing this position within the next couple of days and will get back to you. Have a great weekend! " I don't know how to interpret it.
Thank you, Karen. I'm glad you enjoyed this video and the content. If you haven't already, be sure to subscribe to our channel. I'd love to have you as part of our community!
The government shutdown threw a wrench in my interview process. I took a civil service test, scored really well , got invited to an "interview" that turned into a group hiring session. We were told offers would be extended in 1-2 weeks. I'm coming up on week two 😑 with no response! I'm super anxious!
I can only imagine how this has been affecting the interview process. It may very well have something to do with the wait time you are experiencing. At the end of two weeks, I would go ahead and follow-up. Good luck to you!
I had the interview today she asked me questions and she showed me around the kitchen and where they make salads she wants me to come back in for paperwork I've had service jobs before and I know I got this especially when she showed me where the service station is
I had an interview last week for about 1 hour. It was nobody from HR .It was with the executive director and the manager of the department. They asked me about when I can start....the salary...how I react in a stressful situation....and so on....the usual..... Fingers crossed! I really hope to get this job. Thank you for the video!
Great video!!! Phone interviewed for a job I really want to get. Got all the cues - besides sign #3 due to it being over the phone - and really felt a great bond with the interviewer. I’m really hoping everything goes well. I’m overthinking so much because of it lol. One of the best benefits that would get me hyped for a job is definitely a gym membership.

In my interview last week I was given a tour of the department, introduce me to The staff, the director was tell the manager that he would have to work with me and my school schedule and I don’t have kids so she would be here when we need her. But I am still not sure because I haven’t received a email or anything after I send my thank you note. If I don’t get a offer all those signs meant nothing.
Hi there & thank you for sharing your experience. Did they give you a timeline about their decision making process? Also - this video might be helpful ua-cam.com/video/unaUvfDwQK0/v-deo.html
I have a question to ask okay then employees calls you to come in for an interview and then tells u that u are hired then doesn't call you and tell you what day you start 😠. Is that company interested in you or they just playing with?

I'm applying for a golf Professional job at a golf course and there's a program you go through to become certified. This place pays for you to go through that program (which can be upwards of $8000) which is really nice for the field I'm going in. They showed me around the place, gave me just about every detail of what the job entails and what I would be doing, they asked me about my insurance without me bringing it up, I met another employee I would be working with, and they told me when they would follow up with me and when they would like to hire someone. They also asked me if the current place I work at knows I'm looking for another job (which they do) and if I would give them a 2 weeks notice (which I would and honor that 2 weeks notice). I'm still in that in between stage right now of hearing back, but it sounds like they are at least interested in me for that position.
Chippy1032, that is VERY exciting to hear. They did all of the right things which sounds like you must've impressed them. Did you ask them how soon the would plan to make a decision? Gives you an idea of when you may need to follow up with them (if they don't get back to you beforehand). Wishing you GREAT luck and keep me posted!
@@CareerSuccess yeah the director that interviewed me told me he would follow up with me in a couple weeks. He is on vacation this week. He told me they wanted to hire someone in August or the start of September, so they did give me a time table of when they wanted the hiring process to be done. Now I'm just in the anxiety driven waiting period haha. Thank you for the reply and everything you do on your channel!
Excellent Demonstration. Recently I had an Interview. The Interviewer asked me three major questions that indicated a sign they are interested in my candidacy.1. when can you join? 2.How much you are looking for a salary (and he answered me I am in the range). How soon you can join? Can you relocate? At the end of Interview he said If he has any doubt then he will call me again? what does it mean? Looking for a response.
Those sound like terrific signs. Kudos to you for doing so well in your interview! It sounds like the hiring manager was saying to you that if any questions or concerns arise, he will be in contact with you. Keep me posted on the outcome for this role for you!
It depends on the employers about those signs because most of job offers that I received in the past. I never seen those signs except one the duration of the interview. If you haven’t got the job offer don’t worry about signs😂. Until you got the job offer then you know well the interview went well.
my boss was straight to the point, LOL ''YOU WANT TO WORKK OR NOT...'' i said yes.... ''OK, YOU'RE HIRED'' =)) i work for the car dealership as a mechanic

It positive when they ask how soon can you start working because it sounds like they need someone who can start working quickly. Although the only 100% sign that they want to hire you is an offer, it does sound like you had a positive interview.

I I got a callback from the recruiter yesterday and I know that she was ready to extend an offer but my manager changed the location for this position and they asked me if I had other job offers on the table and asked me a couple other questions that kind of cued into what type of response they would get from the manager. I’m thinking that because my interview went so well and I got great feedback that they might extend an offer

Hello and thank you for watching the Career Success channel. This is a great question. Once the references are complete, then reviewed an offer would be developed. These actions take time to develop and need approvals. I would allow 5 days before sending a follow up to your point of contact.
I've known people who can execute interviews with good posture and etc. But would not keep the job for some reason and I know people who would probably do horrible at interviews but would keep the same job for years if hired (through connection).
Before the interview, the recruiter laid out the perks, like mon threw Friday, 10 holidays off ,2 weeks paid vacation and what I would be starting at. ,then I got call for actual interview to come in. Now I just waiting
This video is very informative but also scary. I went on a job interview a few days and I could not tell either way if they wanted to hire me or not. I have been at the same job for 25 years and I want to continue the work that I am doing in a different environment. I just hope I did well because I haven't interviewed in years. One of the main signs is when she was highly considering me on her list of candidates. Also, she was asking for my advice on how I would feel taking on a mobile app project and multiple design projects. She also loved how I made a chart of all the accomplishments from my last jobs.
That is great feedback to get during an interview!
Just had an interview and she asked me, “what are you going to miss most about leaving your current job?” I answered just leaving the people because I love everyone I work with. Her response was, “it’s always bittersweet going to a new job!” This feels like such a good sign but UGH I can’t stop overthinking until I get the official answer 🤣
any update?
I feel like this is a good channel for all Races, I mean I'm Caucasian and I use this channel for the last few weeks for my interviews and it's helped me greatly
I am SO happy to hear you are enjoying our content. We are an inclusive space so we are happy to have you!
Same here! Great advice
What does a race have in common with the hiring process?
@@VRGamercz it doesn't but the channel is branded for a particular race. All I was doing was pointing out the fact that this advice can work for all Races not just one
Perk: Simply my own office and desk. Each floor having their own refrigerator, microwave, toaster and copier.
In the current job I am trying to leave, they don't even have an employee restroom...in any of the 3 floors. Employees have to use the lobby or cafeteria restroom on the 1st floor unless they're from other depts
I'm rooting for you!
Did you get it?
ladycurl2xcel yes I am training now thanks for asking
Melba Bello congrats 🎉 to you!
ladycurl2xcel Thank you 😊
Congratulations! I am proud of you!
Working from home some days a week...longer than normal interviews
Interviewer said they think I’d be a good fit, when I said my job is offer 13.50 for me to stay they said they can do better, and and they contacted my references called for a second interview 4 hours after the first
Hi Veronica! Please give me an update!
Saw this video today and I am in the process of hearing back from a company for the second round of interviews this coming week. I hope this is a good sign.
I am rooting for you!
I had my over the phone went well, then I had interview, then they asked for references and gave her business card, I'm excited but not sure yet
Not having to clock in and out of bid/work orders
My 1 perk was .that i have my own private area with my own office. As an introvert its perfect..
Hello and thanks for sharing the success of your perk request. We are happy that it worked out in your favor. We appreciate you stopping by the Career Success Channel. Best of luck.
The must have benefit for me was that I could bring my child to work!
It was at Silverado Senior Living
Hi Carmen, Thanks for commenting!
That is a great benefit to have! How has it worked out?

I had all these signs happen to me during interview, I still did not get the role.
I had an interviewer just give up during my interview and say the following:-
" I have interviewed quite a few people.
This made my day to read. You've got this! Congratulations on betting on yourself.
Starts at 1:30
If an employer really wants to hire you, they'll start mentioning the benefits you'll receive aa an employee.
Good for you! I'm proud of you. Thank you for sharing.
Dam you r pretty and SMART you r helping me with job info
It's my pleasure to help you with your job search. Keep me posted if you have questions or need tips. Good luck to you.
That sounds like it went great! You should be proud. I'm rooting for you. Keep me posted!
Thank You!!!!! Awesome video. Tomorrow will be the second interview for me. Mid-Level Management/Advanced.
Hi Tanya! I am so happy you found the video useful. How did your second interview go?
No probationary period for benefits and get them on day one!🙏🏻🙌🏼
I've sent a thank you note. and this is their response.
"It was a pleasure speaking with you and having an opportunity to learn about your interests and skill set. John and I will be discussing this position within the next couple of days and will get back to you. Have a great weekend! "
I don't know how to interpret it.
I think you got the job!!!
Not only were they growing but they have a big sign on bonus! And you don’t have to wait long to receive.
Thanks for sharing in the Career Success Channel. We sincerely hope that you were successful with obtaining a new role. Best of luck.
These signs don’t mean they will hire you.
I always say the only sure way to know is when you get the job offer!
PERK: Your health insurance is paid for by the company at 100%…
Hello and thanks for visiting the Career Success Channel. For sure health insurance provision is a valuable perk.

Great tips! Your voice is so beautiful 🤩🥰
Thank you so much!!
my interviewer showed my whole office offered my lunch, and even dropped me back at my home - I didnt get the job...lol
💀
Ouch! Thanks for sharing.
I am so excited for you, Kuramaah! I also hope that everything goes well and please keep me posted. By the way, did you see my other post about "How to keep the conversation going after the interview" : ua-cam.com/video/JGsGyDoMv5E/v-deo.html
This may help you too!
Your video is SO useful. I just had interview for my junior receptionist and they were so hapy with me :) im so excited thank you
You are most welcome. Thank you for leaving a comment. 🙂
Perk hybrid, full remote, flexible schedule, work life balance, health incentives.
All great perks to ask for! It's great to know what you want.
What about when the hiring managers tells you at the very end of the interview. I’ll get in touch with HR
That could be a good sign. I always encourage people to follow-up as well. Have you seen this video: ua-cam.com/video/5-MZuYCkweY/v-deo.html
They’ll give you a precise date for when you’ll here back from them
In my interview last week I was given a tour of the department, introduce me to The staff, the director was tell the manager that he would have to work with me and my school schedule and I don’t have kids so she would be here when we need her. But I am still not sure because I haven’t received a email or anything after I send my thank you note. If I don’t get a offer all those signs meant nothing.
Hi there & thank you for sharing your experience. Did they give you a timeline about their decision making process?

Living close to my job
Omg I just had an interview yesterday! And I really think the interview went well. I hope I get the job
I'm rooting for you! Keep me posted!
@@CareerSuccess Hiii, I got the job! Thanks for the reply btw
I have a question to ask okay then employees calls you to come in for an interview and then tells u that u are hired then doesn't call you and tell you what day you start 😠. Is that company interested in you or they just playing with?
Hi Amy! A few clarifying questions - did you sign an employment contract? Did they give you specifics about the hiring process?
Ive had my interview at Miles Jones Elementary in Virginia USA,and one of the members of the interviewer looks similarly you🥰She's very good to me.
Hello Jerome, Thanks for stopping by the Career Success Channel to share your positive experience with a recent interview. We wish you continued success. Keep us posted.
A perk: they told me they’d be hiring me a direct report if needed.
Thank you for sharing the perk offered if you are hired. It certainly allows you to see the organization's desire for your success to commit to a resource if needed. Great example !Thanks for visiting the Career Success Channel.
You're delightful!
Until you got the job offer then you know well the interview went well.
my boss was straight to the point, LOL
''YOU WANT TO WORKK OR NOT...''
i said yes....
''OK, YOU'RE HIRED''
=))
i work for the car dealership as a mechanic
Thank you so much for sharing this experience. It looks like the candid hiring manager was successful with closing the deal! Good for you. Thanks for visiting the Career Success Channel and sharing your story!
@@CareerSuccess thank you for this video too,
yes my job interview was crazy fast like the Fast and Furious XD
great tips i am writing them all down before my interview.
Excellent! Wishing you all the luck. Thank you for watching.
nice info Jenny
When I had a interview at take 5 oil change the guy interviewing me gave me his phone number.
Thank you!
I'm keeping fingers crossed...
I am too! Good luck to you!
How soon you can join us ? What does this mean
It positive when they ask how soon can you start working because it sounds like they need someone who can start working quickly. Although the only 100% sign that they want to hire you is an offer, it does sound like you had a positive interview.
@@CareerSuccess There were 5 interviews conducted 3 Technical, 1 Managerial and 1 HR round, I got the offer finally, Thanks for your guidance and support, God bless you!!
My interview was a bit hard to tell. She told me they were still interviewing and don't get discouraged. Process takes two weeks and they give people enough time to hand in their notice 🤷🏿♀️ they never replied back to my thank you note.
Hi Niki. How long ago was your interview? Is there something I can help you with?
@@CareerSuccess My interview was on Feb 24 2021
@@CareerSuccess How long does it usually take for a job offer. They check one of my references last week. I haven't heard anything this week from them
I just had one sign 😅😭, but it was not a interview it was more of asking basic Questions.
Perks of the job I’ve had 4 interviews for that makes me cringe at the idea of not getting hired is working remotely and UNLIMITED PTO.
While it's no guarantee, when an interviewer becomes curious about other offers you may have this is a good sign. In fact, it's my favorite sign!
AINT no body interested in me. They always say “IF you are hired......” so the first one don’t apply to me.
When they photocopy your documents
Thank you for sharing!
I had a verbal job offer from the Hiring Manager last July 28, 2022, I followed up after 3 days and they told me they are on a break due to COVID-19 but they'll keep in touch and will send the Final offer soon, But now, it's almost 2 weeks and I have no update from them.
congrats to everyone who received a job offer, even if it's not your first one.. been searching for years and starting to lose hope
After reference check how soon HR will let us know about the status. Otherwise what is good way to ask update
Hello and thank you for watching the Career Success channel. This is a great question. Once the references are complete, then reviewed an offer would be developed. These actions take time to develop and need approvals. I would allow 5 days before sending a follow up to your point of contact.
Thank you sister
Unlimited PTO and fully paid insurance benefits
I've known people who can execute interviews with good posture and etc.
But would not keep the job for some reason and I know people who would
probably do horrible at interviews but would keep the same job for years if hired (through connection).
Before the interview, the recruiter laid out the perks, like mon threw Friday, 10 holidays off ,2 weeks paid vacation and what I would be starting at. ,then I got call for actual interview to come in. Now I just waiting
That is great. I'm glad to hear you had such a good experience. Make sure you also follow up! Wishing you the best of luck.
This video is very informative but also scary. I went on a job interview a few days and I could not tell either way if they wanted to hire me or not. I have been at the same job for 25 years and I want to continue the work that I am doing in a different environment. I just hope I did well because I haven't interviewed in years. I prepared and felt that I answered the question and gave examples etc. I am going to try to stay hopeful but the waiting game is so hard.
You got this! Make sure you follow up with them as well! Please keep me posted.
@@CareerSuccess thank you for responding back. Today is the last day for interviews for the position and they are hiring a good amount of people. I did follow up last week with thank you emails to each person on the panel but haven't heard anything back yet.
