I really enjoyed this panel of Jim Zub @StygianDogs! Thanks so much for posting this. I think this is a great time to be Conan and Robert E. Howard fan.
@@jacksonzelda4874 Thank you! And honestly, thanks to Jim for the heads-up on the late-arranged panel. He knew it might be of interest to Conan fans. (Not everyone gets a chance to attend these sorts of events!)
A 4yr run !!!!! Let’s goooo ! Thrilled with Zub’s excitement about doing these stories. That’s the secret sauce !! Zub making Torre as fresh with his art due to Jim working with him like this. Braithwaite is unbelievable as well. Truly something special happening right now and i’m doing my best to be in the moment. But we owe a lot of this to Zub !!
Even this weekend you could see it happening...the building of a cohort of passionate creators. Heroic Signatures' long term vision and Zub’s skill and work ethic is a heck of a special sauce. 👍⚔️
Jim is tremendously generous with his time. We chatted a few times on the Friday and Saturday...he really makes himself available to everyone and engages with great enthusiasm. He even gave me a heads-up on this last minute panel to make sure that I could attend and share it with everyone. 👍 But man, as much fun as these conventions are...it's hard work for them. (I guess the attention and praise makes things easier!) ⚔️
Thank you so much for recording this and putting it up so we all could share in it. So excited to see what's coming. There have been many great Conan comics artists, but I agree with Jim that Cary's Conan is something special. Barry and Big John are iconic and all-time greats and their Conan deserves all he praise it gets, but for me, Cary was the best at capturing the Frazetta-esque Conan feel on the page. I'd love to see more Nord Conan from Titan. But again, awesome video and much gratitude as this channel is one of the places that makes Conan fandom feel like a community.
Thank you for the kind words! Sincerely. I briefly interacted with Nord (small talk/signatures) on Friday and he seems a lovely fellow. I can't imagine he'd be against doing more Conan! 🤔 Let me know what you think of Fernando Dagnino's work in SSoC 4. Felt like old school Chan or something. Fit well in SSoC. Hoping we see more! ⚔️🙏
@@StygianDogs My wife is on vacation this week so it will be a busy week and I am not sure what day I will be able to get to the LCS to pick up Savage Sword, but it it pops up on hoopla (a free media service provided/paid for by our local library system) before I get there I will read it there for sure and pick up my physical copy when I can get there. I am hyped for this one though, and I will definitely let you know what I think of Dagino's art on the book.
No one come close to Ernie Chan and Tomas Giorello. The Truman Dark Horse is the best Conan by far. The french series The Cimmerian deserves a special mention. That art is sublime.
Very humble of Jim to make out Rob's art was the main one to draw the fans in.... I love Jim's writing and often stop to re read some of his lines to fully appreciate them.
Thanks Jeff! You know what else is awesome? Your story in Savage Sword of Conan #4! 🤣 It was great to have a chance to speak with Jim and so many others.
This is such a great panel, thanks for sharing this. I had a blast listening to it. I had always wondered reading these if they worked with a "Marvel Method" of writing over the art because of how collaborative it felt reading, really cool seeing that was the case. Reading this new series has me so excited and feeling pumped for comics again in a way I hadn't since my teens/early-20s. So very fun. I think I AM that guy that walked up to his table selling him on the book. I can't stop talking about how much I love the series whenever comics get brought up.
Thanks for putting this up SD! I just finished reading Conan #14. Really looking forward to what we all know is coming in issue #15! Zub has done a solid job on Titan's Conan. He deserves all the credit he gets!
I am so glad I found your channel! LOVED this interview with Zub, _He is freakin' awesome!_ I am seriously considering changing my channel to be more Conan focused as well; due to the fact that I have more passion for this character than I have ever had for your typical superhero. Also, I am *Happy to be your new subscriber!* 😁Always willing to support a fellow Conan Fan! SKOL ~ *Bjorn - Son of Crom*

De La Torre looks like his own thing, but at the same time just screams John Buscema. I even get a little bit of Ernie Chan, but less busy with the hashes. It's beautiful to see after some of the more stylized Conan portrayals of recent years. Braithwaite also fantastic.
I don't know how he does it. I mean, his personality helps...but the whole convention thing is a lot of work for those guys! (Everyone is so generous with their time too!)
Jim Zub has stepped up since his abysmal Marvel run, but his treatment of Kułl was dogcrap. I have a personal bet that he will make Brissa Conan's very own Brule. Just because he can't or are just to afraid to write Conan meeting new wenches like he should, and he's to white for Zub. That second volume was 80%, dogcrap. Brissa the spearslayer and her companion Conan. I mean he couldn't give Kull at least a heroic action. Brule was the real hero that made King Kull look like a chump and not particularly legendary.

Though Kull did survive being impaled by an Atlantean blade. Bad ass.
