- Friends, gather around and let me tell you a story. A story about a man, a man who had just about everything he could ever want or need. The man wasn't rich, he barely had any money to his name. Just enough to get by. The real wealth he had were friends that cared for him and would help him in need, and a very special person he held very near and dear to him. He had support from his family that kept him going, and an achievable goal to set his future in place.
But he lost sight of what was important to him, and having been so cocky about what the future held, one by one all of what was important to him was taken away. He was a victim not of circumstance but of his own undoing. Even though he regretted all the trouble he had caused and wanted a second chance, it was too late for him. He had to get control over himself and his life before he lost everything.
This man in my story, is me. A lot has happened in my life in the past few months and its time a take a step back and focus on what's most important in life while I can. With this I announce my retirement from the Brony music scene. Not out of any spite directed towards the community, but because I need to work on my future.
I'd like to thank, above all else, God and my parents for always being there to support me. If it weren't for you guys I wouldn't still be doing what I'm doing today.
I'd like to thank Kyle, Ryan, and Kaitlyn as well. You guys are always there keep me up and happy and set a good standard as to what I should be working towards in the future.
I'd also like to thank Veggie, Gabe, Feather, Nick, and Chad for help making this dream a reality. You all did your part to make this the best track I've ever put together.
I'd like to thank Ben for always being a great friend and an inspiration to me, Basch for getting me into this in the first place, and Dylan, Chris, and Sjru for always being there for me when I need someone to talk to.
I'd especially like to thank Sarah. You made me happier than anyone else ever could have. You were the best person anyone could ever ask for, the kind of person people dream about. I understand that you want to pursue a normal life and its unfortunate that I couldn't be a part of it, I'd be willing to go to the ends of the earth to be able to get just one more chance. I've made some mistakes I will regret for the rest of my life. But I can be happy with the memories we had and knowing that in the long run it was the best decision for you. You will always be special to me.
And to the rest of my friends, you know who you are. You are all wonderful people and I thank you for all the amazing experiences you have provided.
And this friends, is where my story ends. It's been an amazing experience being with you guys, you've always had faith in me and I could have never hoped to get as much of a following as I did. In due time, I will be back. You'll still see me around, But it's high time I started getting my life in order while I can.

I've only known of your music, and the brony community for a short while, but you, along with all of the many friends I've made in this short while, have been so inspirational to me =') Though it may be sad to see you are done with brony music, I am happy for the time you spent making it, and even happier for you that you are making what you feel is the best decision for your life.

just some personal ramble: few years ago, i was really into epic music. and sometimes in between all the intstrumental tracks, Les Friction's songs were added. they made me realize how much i miss vocals in songs. for a while their 3 songs were my faves. then i got into video games and brony music accidentally, through checking out fnaf music. that's how i discovered this channel. and i loved almost all the tracks. but not until today, when i got nostalgic and checked out the rest of Les Friction's music, that i listened to original What You Need. and i got this "i have heard it somewhere... but where??" and then i realized. here. like wow, it's such a weird feeling when 2 niche things i love overlap.
man, all your uploads are of such quality. you have good taste and skill. what a magnificent goodbye track. i hope future will be kind to you, and that life will turn out the right way for you.

Wow, a really rich story behind this song. It's amazing to be able to read it. I don't feel as though I have had such deep social relationships with people. I have, however, had an extraordinary experience of my own. I worked hard for happiness, and for 6 months of my life I felt constant bliss-bliss in each moment-and a stream of constantly happy thoughts in the background of my consciousness. That was in the past. Currently, I am trying to get my life together. I do self-improvement activities on my to-do list everyday. Exercise 3 times a day, meditate 3 times a day, and read the Bible. I have been trying to add more meditation and reading that I do (with limited success). I also make an effort not to lose touch with my friends and give myself personal time. I hope to be a good person, happy, and to have a life I am satisfied with.

While this is a really beautiful song, and it's easy to hear the passion and work you've put into it, I'm afraid I can't agree with what I hear is the sentiment therein.
From the comments under the 'About' tab above, as well as some of the lyrics, this sounds like an apology song for 'Sarah.' It also feel like this hiatus is the direct result of a conflict between you and her, perhaps over your involvement in the fandom and the other creative people in it. I know next to nothing of your personal life or your relationship with her or your family, but hearing the kind of sentiment put in this song always makes me sad.
That's not to say that taking a hiatus (even if it ends up being a permanent one) isn't the right thing to do. But if you're going to do it: Do it for yourself. Maybe she'll come back, and maybe she won't. Maybe someone new will come along, and maybe they won't. Maybe your family (or others in general) will accept you for who you are, and maybe they won't. But I think you'll be healthier and happier if you try to be a whole, complete person by yourself and for yourself.
Maybe it's too early for anyone to say this to you, and maybe you'll hate me for saying the above. But this is coming from someone who was so devastated by going through a divorce that it's taken me 5 years to crawl out of my shell. :/ In any case, I wish you the best, and for happier times, eh.

You are far better off than I am. No clue what I want to do with my life, no real talents except I like technology and can build a circuit. Bad at math, so any sort of engineer is out of the question. Im officially screwed. You on the other had have something. You have gone through a profoundly life altering experience, and you better learn from that. Time heals all wounds. ever thought of anyway you could possibly transfer your knowledge of building a cercit to a game? As you are fond of tech also even someone with pretty bad math grades can do coding, you're just more restricted to simpler coding, im sure theres something, maybe even story board creation for games like i do.

Obviously I don't understand the full context of this specific situation, and I don't expect it to be explained, but I've never understood why stopping making pony content has ever been a huge deal to the people making the music or the people listening to it. Under the assumption that the artist is still making music and wants to start making "more serious" music, why does that mean that pony music has to be left behind entirely? And from my perspective, I didn't listen to the artist because they were making pony music. Pony may have allowed me to discover them, but I listen because I enjoy the musical style of the artist, which will likely show through in their non-pony music as well.
Obviously if you're leaving music entirely that's a different situation altogether. Sorry for the rant btw, it's just that this situation seems to be happening a lot lately.
