- This video will show you what the Honda Brake Hold does and how to use it. It is a very easy feature to use once it is explained.
The footage is from a 2016 Honda Civic EX, However the process for using the Brake Hold will be very similar for other years and Honda models.

This is the third video I watched on brake hold and this explains it the best.
Thanks! Glad I could help you out 👍
My wife is going to love this feature. Just to be clear, does it work on an incline as well?
Do you need to press the Brake Hold button each time you start the car? Or does this setting get saved and stay on after you've used it once?
In a Honda yes, you need to turn it on each time you start the car. In a VW no, it will remain turned on all the time.
In mercedes benz the sprinter when you come to a complete stop. Just press the brake hard it will engage by itself
Should we drive with Breakhold system on all the time. Or should we press break hold button each time at red lights
If you are going to be using it lots I would leave it on. I only use it if I am going to stopping and starting a ton.
@@NorthernVikingExplorer Yes I am talking about Indian roads , so yes going to be using it lot :) ...Thanks
How about the gear positioning? Shall we keep on D or move it to N while stop?
Yes, You keep it in D
@@NorthernVikingExplorer thank you! 👍😊
Keep it in D
Very cool :)
Thank You!
I have a 2017 Accord Touring sedan, and I see the "Brake Hold" and "Hold" spots on my dash, but I can't find a way to engage it (no button). I'm surprised Civic's and Accords of lower tier trims would get the feature and the Touring would not.
How can i use when my car is downhill or uphill?
1:22 that intersection looks very familiar from a car crash compilation I watched 🤔
How do you disengage the brake. This is very dangerous change. The manual handle wascsafer and more effective.
This isn't the e-brake. This is the break hold. It's different.
How to gear? D or N ?
how well does break hold work in stop and go on steep inclines?
It worked well in my mondeo
I detest being behind an auto car when driver uses the hoot brake at stationary eseciallyvwith high level tail lights😢
Cool. I thought I broke my car
Brake hold not working even with the seat belt on
Same problem, did you fix it?
@@jeffersonrios14 yes, my problem was the air bag light. Once I had that turned off, all the other lights like traction control, tpms, and red brake light turned off. So I guess the question is, is your air bag light turned on?
