    I don't know if it works in every airport, but it works in NYC. A long time ago, I had bought something at the airport food convenience store and they gave me a bag. I kept the bag and put my own food for the plane in it. TSA doesn't care how many bags you have with you, just as long as the stuff in them is allowed. Meanwhile, because of the CIBO vendor bag, I basically get to have 1 carry on (my backpack) and 2 personal items, because it looks like I bought food at the airport.

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  Рік тому +16

      That is true! If it’s a food item, they presume you’re going to eat it and get rid of it when they collect the garbage. For me I am going to eat it but I’m going to have to keep my containers. I think as long as the airlines are not serving food, they have to be able to give people options to bring her own due to blood sugar issues, and like one of the flights I took earlier this year with my dad where we were stuck for a long time and all of the restaurants at the airport we were diverted to were closed by the time we landed so I think that is something they’re going to just have to allow until they start serving food again🤷‍♀️😊

    I learned from flying during Covid that I can survive on a 4 hour ✈️ flight with a little bottle of water and a cookie. If I put a couple of granola bars in my backpack 🎒, they usually make the round trip, and I discover them when I get home. I have very well traveled granola bars.

      I remember flying during Covid, and I was so afraid to take my mask off and even drink water! I usually bring more than just a couple snacks because I flew a few times where we were rerouted and ended landing and staying overnight somewhere and it’s late and nothing is open and it’s been a long day and just wanted a little something to snack on. Last time I traveled with my dad a four hour flight became a 36 hour ordeal.

Now I’m on the portion control kick and it seems to be working and I feel much better after meals now. You don't use those typical cheap plastic products that I see on other videos and that I really don't like. Plus you care about eco-friendly and reusable things. I was surprised with the first video I saw from you, the one with the "Best EDC multi tools", I haven't found many videos on this platform of women carrying a Leatherman, for example. Or now, in this video, the Sea to Summit cup, or the wax cloth... etc. These are the kind of things that I buy or would buy! 👌🤗

    Thanks for sharing! I really enjoyed the video. I actually have that same miso soup, and prefer chopsticks too. I have been looking for a nice wooden pair to travel with that were sturdy enough. The snack containers with the lids attached is really a fabulous decision. As much as I enjoy my lock& lock little container with dividers, how many times do we need to drop the lid in turbulence? never again with it attached! I have used a cloth handkerchief to wrap food in before, but the waxed cloth is probably a better idea. I have used a small 10ml spray bottle for olive oil and used a packet of "real lemon" which is lemon juice that is crystallized like sugar. Packing some cooked rice could make a nice addition to the soup, and make it more filling without taking up a lot of space. sort of a step in between the snacks and a full meal.

    Hi Eunice, I love all of you ideas, but I was thinking about the snack containers you got from the hardware store. They are a great size, but not necessarily made with food safe plastic. I use slim pill boxes with separate compartments. They are about the same size as your containers and 5 food safe plastic. Just something to think about.

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  Рік тому +1

      Thank you so much and you’re absolutely correct. The ones from the hardware store or not food safe. However, I do feel since I’m not leaving food in there for very long and it’s not a liquid or being heated. It’s probably pretty safe.. although I do like your idea about the pillboxes, I just find the compartments are so small. But they do make food safe ones now on Amazon now snackle boxes are becoming more popular.💕😊

      @@TheoryofSimple yes, they are becoming more popular! I was lucky to find pill boxes that have deeper compartments. I love them. I have two, like you. One for sweet, one for savory.

    Awesome travel items. Hubby and I are traveling to New York this year. Via Train. What would you pack for an overnight ride? {we'll be in a sleeper}. We will only be using back packs, no luggage. Also, what would you pack in a separate backpack for getting around via walking, subway and ferry ride in the big city. oh, one more question. We are taking a bus tour. what would you pack? {ps. it's 8hrs.} I have had these questions on my mind for a while but could'nt find a post to answer them. Grateful I found yours.

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  Рік тому +1

      Well, my answer depends on a couple of things. He said you’re only each taking a backpack on this trip and staying overnight on the train, but are you also staying overnight in the city and for how long it is also very doable to do a week trip with just a backpack so I will have to do a video on just that. If the train will let you bring on something beyond the backpack, for example, a Crossbody bag or a fanny pack, I would definitely bring those on the the train with me. I’m also not sure what kind of backpacks you’re bringing but you may not want to walk around all day with a large backpack and you may want to leave that in a hotel room if you are staying in a hotel room. If you are using those backpacks to go all day in the city, then you have to pack pretty strategically and be willing to either carry something heavy, or divide things up into pockets and other smaller bags to carry. Like I said this probably would take up a whole Nother video, so I’ll try to do that soon.😊 I hope this helps somewhat and I hope you have a wonderful trip to New York City😊❤️

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  Рік тому +3

      Yeah, I don’t wanna carry around either but I also have been stuck in airports when things are shut down or I got into a hotel room and you can’t get anything in and it’s just better to have a couple of things with you to make it a little bit easier on your travels. There are so many bathrooms around. These are so quick and easy to wash up and put back in your bag and they’re just so useful. It’s worth it for me.😊
