Monster 41" Snook caught on Siesta Key, Sarasota FL

Just caught my personal best Snook the other day at the North end of Siesta Key beach. Me and my friends could see a couple of very large Snook lurking around the rocks, and when a school of small jacks started running by, the large Snook started to become active. The only setup I had with me that day was my 4000 size Penn Pursuit 2, with 20 lbs. braid, and 20 lbs. Monofilament leader. Once I caught a small jack with a little white jig, I quickly took the jig off, tied on a 2/0 size circle hook, hooked the jack threw his nose and casted him right in front of me. It did not take long for this Giant to chase that little jack up to the surface and engulf him. Once I realized I had this fish hooked good, I knew I was in for a crazy ride!

I didn't even realize that Snook got that big, I just thought they were kind of like a Largemouth Bass, lol, great catch though!
