Thanks so much for sharing these tips! You have no idea how much you have helped me! I'm a newbie and was having a challenge with finding the RIGHT settings. Thanks again!
Oracal transfer tape does not pick up oracal 651 vinyl, especially with small letters and details, you have to to spend an awful lot of time pressing and using a pick to get them released from the backing, i am surprised that you are able to apply and release these decals with such each !!
Thanks for the video!! Can you please help me with the kind of transfer tapes? I am using ORACAL 641 with ORATAPE MT95 and MT52 transfer tapes. But many times the fonts and shapes fail to stick to the transfer tape. Do you think the one in your hand, the MT80P would be better? Is it stronger? Thank you in advance for the help! :)
If you're having issues, you could always use a heavy tack transfer tape, but removing the transfer tape from the blank. It may be easier to try reverse weeding instead. Check out this blog post: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/09/how-to-reverse-weed-vinyl-small-letters.html
@@SilhouetteSchool thank you! Weeding is perfect! I have issues aftereards, when sticker should stick to transfer tape. Which higher tack tape would you suggest? Thanks! :)
Hi, Thank you so much. Ive hunted for days about this. After buying a cricut joy for christmas and over £100 worth of vinyl that is 641 to be told now its no good for glass or christmas baubles. Can you please advise if i can use this or do i have to bin it. Luv from the uk
Hey there, 641 is a matte permanent vinyl, I'm sure that you could use it for some type of ornaments! We used permanent vinyl here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2022/10/tips-for-how-to-apply-vinyl-to-round.html
@@SilhouetteSchool hi thanx for your reply, ive since found out gloss 641 cannot be used for anything which could come in contact water or outdoors. I am over the moon though that I can still use it. Thank you again. Luv from the UK
I am using 651 vinyl with this transfer tape and it will not pull the image off I have to do every single letter until the image is on the transfer tape, I am using the Cricut to cut the vinyl. I am trying to make some stickers for my customers but so far I am unable to because it will not pull the whole image up at once. Is there a trick to this ?
Same, should have read these comments first. Now I have $200 worth of this junk. Even if it worked, having to remove transfer tape from backing paper is a big waste of time.
You COULD technically do it without transfer tape, if the design is one piece it might be fine, but I just prefer to use it. Makes life so much easier.
I've been using lined transfer tape and wanted to swap to something that was clear after application. I picked up a couple of rolls of Oracal MT80p and like a lot of other people in this thread have had no luck getting it to pick up from 651. I don't know if it's changed over time, there's bad batches going around, or there's something that the supplier is doing but it doesn't matter if I have large cuts or detailed cuts/cut with autoblade or CB09/different room temps/depths from 1-30 it just will not pick up. Cheap roll of YRYM from Amazon picks up same cuts perfectly.
I had some Kassa matte sheets that came with my Cameo 4 shoved in the back of the closet. I just tried a couple of test cuts with that and the Oracal tape wouldn't pick up from that either. I'm going to order a bit from Swing and see if what I get from them is different from what I got from a different supplier.
Adhesive can break down with age as well. There are a lot of variables. Check out this blog post for some other tips and tricks: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2017/08/vinyl-wontt-stick-transfera-tape.html
I kinda have the problem that it c9mes off the baking too easily... And smaller parts get detached fast. Wanted to check if there's a hack for that. It is a super sticky flexible foil the 651....so when small pieces get off the vack foil they stick super hard to each other and get streched and destroyed in the process 😢😢
I use Oracle HT 55 for use on Oracle 651, and it works great. Her suggested settings are not working for me either,,, i dont get her numbers , they are all wrong , at least for me. the force is too high, just start a lil lower and work your way up, record your settings for each type vinyl you use.
751 cut setting are HORRIBLE cut right up my vinyl every time I ran anything through it had to back the force from a 15 down to a 9. I am assuming this has ALLOT to do with how new and used your blade is
Oracal MT80 does not stick to the vinyl. One swipe, 2, 3, 10, it takes forever to get the letters to come off. I am not impressed. Going to get contact paper from the dollar tree instead. All the video's make it look so easy & uh, no.
At 6:22 the specs for Oracal 631 are displayed on screen while you are describing the specs for 751...
I’m so addicted to ur So Fonty site lol.

The 751 works for cups and walls ?
yes

@@SilhouetteSchool Thank you I will look into this.
Did you print with an inkjet printer on the vinyl paper
Hi, have you tried 951?
This tape does not pick up Oracal 651 at all. I wish I hadn't wasted the money on it.

were the cut settings you gave with a mat or without a mat?
With a mat :)
Can I use the Oracal 651 vinyl without the transfer tape or is it a must?

Is the tape heat resistant
which one out of the would you recommend for making custom mugs?
Either a 641 or a 651. These will hold up to handling and washing. These vinyls are NOT dishwasher or microwave safe so just be aware of that!
Are the cut settings going to be the same for a portrait 2?
The MT80P transfer tape does not work for me at all. Im using Oracle 651 Vinyl
Same, has a ton of trouble lifting the vinyl from the backing. Using blade 1, speed 5, force 10.
Omg I got mine in yesterday and I ended up using my dt contact paper instead..I'll try again

I dont know ANYONE who has any luck using the Oracle MT08 tape you are using.... Everyone i know uses Oracle 651 for decals, with Oracle HT 55.
Which oracal vinyl would you recommend that will stick on leather sneakers that will stay for custom paint over it?
GT A did you end up finding out?
Great video
Learning so much thank you !
I ended up with a 651 matt black and it doesn’t release with an average release tape! A wasted roll of 651 I guess.

Helpful thank B you
Where did u order the plaque? I’m new to Cricut word and info was very informative.
I agree this Oracal transfer paper does not work and siser does not work waste of money
I changed my blade settings to what you listed for 641 and it cut straight through the vinyl smh lol
Me to. Its not cut like her...do u find good settings
My image want release
GRACIAS!! SUPER BIEN EXPLICADO...
I accidentally bought application tape instead of white vinyl…
You can always use transfer tape so I wouldn't worry!

Doesn’t work with 651 lmao, not at all
It works with 651 :)
That shit is useless with Oracal 651.
Lol screw it.
Oracal Sucks!!! Never fully transfers. DONT USE
🤡
Oracal is the industry standard. Get another hobby..
