Not gonna lie, when I first heard about the Sherry (?) Franke book coming out it felt like a cashgrab, for someone who was abused and put in the spotlight I figured she'd take some time to heal and be with her family, but from your review Jess it sounds like she's captitalizing on her fame to get the message of how destructive family bloggers can be which is commendable. Also impressed she has the understanding to keep her younger siblings out of the book and focus on her issues.

I hadn't heard of the Take Down book before and honestly the distinction between what two consenting adults upload vs the others makes me want to read it more. Definitely gonna add to the TBR

I think it’s telling with, the house of my mother vs bad mormon, how a “compelling story/narrative” ain’t nothing if you can’t knit a good yarn lol. Especially discretion and diction. You’re line reading from bad mormon made me giggle so thank you.

I'm about halfway through Shari Franke's book rn. It's good. I also just read Gypsy's book which was a wild ride.

Very interesting books! I'm definitely reading that momy's vlog daughter's book ( i dont know if i have that sentence correct 😂) and the Hub too, so intrigued.
About The Liveship traders... i couldnt finish the 1st one 💔, and the Fizt books are some of my favs! But they contained so much hurtful relationships and broken characters i just couldnt.
I'm going to start soon the 3rd from Rainwilds and these? Loving them!

I’ve been in a slump since finishing The Anthropocene Reviewed towards the end of December. Hopefully a reread of the Emily Wilde books to get ready for #3 next month will do the trick.

These are some interesting reads! Regarding the Mormon books, there's actually an ex-Mormon UA-camr (Alyssa Grenfell) who makes videos about the community from a more critical angle. She also has a book published about her journey with leaving the religion and how people can go about their deconstruction. If you haven't seen her content before, I think her stuff would be a good try if more depth is what you're seeking. Also, that Pornhub book seems similar to a documentary I watched a while ago about Pornhub's impact and people wanting to hold them accountable. It's Money Shot: The Pornhub Story on Netflix.

but that they arent correctly moderating either is terrible
