- For players who appreciate the mojo of the past matched to contemporary features, Fender created the Vintera ‘60s Stratocaster Modified. Blending classic looks with a modern neck profile and fingerboard radius, hotter pickups and updated electronics, this guitar packs a surprising amount of power under the hood.
For modern Fender tone they re-voiced the trio of single-coil Stratocaster pickups, kicking things up a bit by increasing the output for more girth and gain. Thick-sounding, yet articulate, they have the power you need for any style of music. The “Modern C”-shaped neck has a 9.5”-radius maple fingerboard with 21 medium-jumbo frets for classic playing feel. A contemporary, two-point synchronized tremolo offers rock-solid performance and tuning stability, while the S-1 switch adds the neck pickup in positions 1 and 2, unlocking even more tonal variety. Other features include vintage-style tuning machines and strap buttons, chrome hardware and four-bolt neck plate. Includes deluxe gig bag.

Thank you for starting with a clean neck pickup sound. That's how you know that you have a good strat in your hands.
Great job showing the wide range of tones. I'm on the verge of getting one and this is helpful.
That's a great playing my friend!
Exactly the sound that should come from a fender!
Wow, F-bombs at the end. That was unexpected.
Great guitar with great classic sounds, this or the modified Tele.
Great review!! This guitar sounds fantastic.
Thanks for the great demo just bought one. Great value.
Love the middle pickup at 10:30 . We gotta show it some more love.
Strat middle pickup is best pickup
Very informative and excellent playing.
It sounds really good.

My type of guitar. It´s a beauty.
Love your demos, not hot on the s-1 but guitar looks nice
The mint pickguard is very nice as are the pickups themselves. Not a fan of Pau Fero instead of Rosewood, but at least it’s not that compressed paper Gibson calls Richlite.
@Malcolm Brody Maybe will be easier just to get a new girlfriend
Jim Graff is inspector gadget!
Great playing! I'm considering one of these and I also want to demo it though my YT channel!
i tried one of these in the shop and its a great guitar ,really good strat ,took me an hour to decide between this and the american strat performer ,in the end i paid the extra £150 and got the american performer strat ,was gutted as its a really great strat but the performer just has a touch more class
I see some disdain for the Pau Ferro fretboard. SRV seemed to love it for his guitars and it certainly hasn't hurt any of the Reverend guitars that I've played.
Still with the vintage staggered pole pieces though. They would have been on my modify list.
I’m buying 5 CDs of that opening
(smile) I was ready to come in at the end with "i was born with a plastic spoon in ...my... mouth."
Great demo! BTW I thought you're Reggie Miller
Great guitar, but I prefer '50s modified strat in daphne blue. Could you please compare them?
Really interested in purchasing this guitar, the only thing that has me concerned is that you have to remove the neck to access the truss rod.
I totally agree, WHY would Fender have this feature on ANY guitar at this point in time? I realized this year that nearly ALL of the Custom Shop Strats have the truss rod adjustment access at the heal. DUMB! And I'm a massive Fender fan.
I have one like this, and I’m able to adjust it without removing anything. Just have to be careful, because the screw driver is at a bit of an angle.
Thanks. Taking the pickguard off to adjust the truss rod isn't convenient, never mind the neck itself.
@@sinnertrain7405 maybe because they made a whole series based on their vintage era designs, even tho this is the “modified” version, they wanted it to vibe like a vintage guitar, even tho it has a two point trem (which I prefer better than the 6 screws trem)
All you have to do is loosen the neck plate screws a couple turns and its enough to adjust the truss rod.10 mins and done.
Vintage guitars require unscrewing the neck from body of the guitar, re-attaching, testing and taking apart again if another if further adjustments / another slight turn is needed on the truss rod. I think that is pretty annoying. That as opposed to having the truss rod accessible near the head stock makes a difference. I agree I suppose that its not a big deal if you dont have to do this often. But when you do have to do it, its a bit if a magilla on vintage fenders. Just my opinion, and I figured being that this modified guitar had modern accents, it would have been cool to have easier access to the truss rod.
CM Kilcullen : who told you , you had to remove the neck, to adjust truss rod?

Yes, I see now that one doesn't always have to do that...
lol! professional inspection inspector. sadly, if such a thing existed, it would be a six figure a year gig that I wouldn't even be able to sniff.
I have the 50's and love it but it has the maple fretboard. Id like this on but not sure I can deal with that board. I have a player series with the PF and its ok but ok at best. What we want is rose wood please.
I bought this color Vintera 60s modified Strat after comparing it at my LGS to Am Pro and Pro II strats with rosewood fretboards. The Pau ferro on mine is darker and less porous than the rosewood on the American made strats, and plays nicely (and much darker and nicer than the nasty, pale PF fretboard on my China-made Epiphone Casino). The neck is chunkier, which I like, but the pickups are way hotter, which I don’t particularly like. But in all I am very happy with the new Strat.
@@ghalston5641 chunkier neck eh. Interesting , the neck on my 50’s is pretty awesome, it’s very slim but kinda feels longer then most top to bottom. I love the neck. The necks on the 60’s roadworn starts are pretty normal c shaped so I’m surprised your is chunky and it’s a 2021 ?
Finally hired a bald guy to fill in for mark
It should have vintage frets and a darker ebony fret board
strats never had ebony boards
Would this make a good starter guitar?
It's my number one and I'm 17 years into the game and enjoy expensive guitars but nothing beats this
@@MrACangusyoungDC does the lack of 22 frets make much difference?
@@benhoughton7009 no. You know, it's quite vintage to limit yourself to that 21st on the high E. Comfortably Numb solo has that 21 (to 22) bend because of that sort of limit.
@Ben Houghton play guitars in shops and even if you're beginner you might still feel what jumps out on you. My exact guitar is really good. They're all different. Maybe more so when cheaper. Mine sounds really good unplugged for example, which you shouldlearn is a good indication of whether a guitar is trulygreat or not. And the exact neck is great. The shop had done a good job setting it up as well. So all I say is that this guitar has the potential to be much more than a beginners guitar

I wish that by calling this modified, that such meant the truss rod was accessible by the headstock and not at the bottom of the neck. Pain in the a** for neck adjustments.
That is a good question. With more experience and learning, I have come to the conclusion that I have to do that less often than I thought would need be. I live in an apartment where humidity levels and such get whacky depending on the time of year. I've learned that necks move (temporarily) often when the weather changes. Sometimes you need to just leave them alone for a few days rather than get impulsive and panic and start to mess with them. In the summer it gets very humid in the north east. In the winter too, but my apartment can get very hot and dry. Someone suggested I get those HUMI packs. I am going to try them soon as we approach the cold months. Any feed back welcomed.
With that aside, I just thought the modified 50's strat would have been cool with the more modern modification in this regard... but I see where you are going with this...
If only fender would make their frets taller and even. I havent played any fender, except custom shop of course, that met my specs.
У этой гитары, по сравнению с американским professional, немного не хватает нижних частот! А так, гитара хорошая, хотя цена ее в Украине завышена! Она стоит около 1500 долларов!
Wish it come with a maple fingerboard, those side dots (on the darker fingerboard) are almost invisible.
Don’t know why Fender puts them between the fingerboard and the neck. Terrible design imo.
F-bombs.... classy. Wonder what fender thinks of that
Obviously you're a Fender hater. Nothing better to do?
Wonder what fender thinks of non-sponsored gear reviewers cursing
Pao Ferro looks awful. For what they’re charging for these they need to go back to rosewood.
Whats new? Nothing's new. Same guitars over and over.
ever heard of the acoustasonic?
actually very awesome and great features for pennies
@dark day relax dick nose
rudedude101 that’s the whole point of their flagship models. If you want new look at the parallel universe stuff
