I’ve watched like 50 videos on this guitar (I’m a bit obsessed with the idea of affording a LP) and this demo showcases this instrument better than any of them. Great playing too
Owned a gold top tribute before upgraded to a traditional and a custom shop. Gotta say you get the exact les Paul sound from the tribute. Only thing you miss is that shiny nitro and binding/mother of pearl details. It’s all aesthetic differences
Finally got my Gibson Les Paul. It’s a 2022 Les Paul Tribute in honeyburst. I fell in love with it the moment I played it. Such a beautiful guitar and the sound is amazing!
These guitars are a great value for the money. Great looking, great sounding, great quality, lighter than a Standard/Traditional. What else can you ask?
Just got a tribute this week. After comparing it to a standard I can say they are very much in the same ball park. The standard had a bit more bottom end and detail in the sound, but the tribute really holds up.. I doubt you'd hear the difference in a live situation! I can really recommend the tribute.. Plus.. I really like the stripped down look!
@@atozee7189 You won't regret getting the tribute. You'll dig the neck. I stumbled on to these back in 18. I knew nothing about Les Pauls since 2007. I love my tribute, but from what I've read, the Years to get are the 17 and 18s. 17 was weight relieved, has 490 and 498 pickups. The 18 isn't weight relieved. Pickups the same. If you know how the Standards feel, the Tribute is slightly thinner. I have an 18 goldtop. Lotta fun to play.
The most comprehensive demo of how the guitar actually sounds of any online demos! My favourite reviewer, bar none! Once you introduce OD / Distortion it sort of ceases to be a guitar demo and becomes an amp / pedal demo - wish a few other YTers would wake up to that! 😀
I just got one on sale for $899 at GC. Great guitar love the lighter body. Bought it 'cause the neck just fits me perfectly. Sure the top isn't at pretty as one of the $3000 Standards but it has all of the the LP essentials and it sounds like a LP. Love it and still have money left over for golf!
@@atozee7189 Hi, Ato I would say that the neck is bordering towards thick. It is not as wide as my 2009 335 though. That being said it is comfortable and easy to play.
Great playing and demo. These tributes really do have a sweet clean tone but a killer distorted tone too. The honeyburst finish makes it look like a original '58 burst models that are really faded
Just got a 2020 in tobacco burst...love it...tried a studio and standard.. don't like glossy finish on my guitar necks...satin so much easier to play 🎸🤘
For what I paid for a new Les Paul Tribute demo model, I got this exact model. I literally have zero complaints. It sounds good, plays great, stays tuned, neck feels like butter...I've never spent less money and got a better guitar. I might get a little better pickups , simply because prefer a slightly hotter response, but nothing wrong with the stock humbuckers that come with it...
I just got this guitar, and im considering to change the pickups as well. What is preferable to change to? Im also prefer the more hotter response :) Have a nice day man
Oskar Kringlebotten Not sure why people always want hotter pickups. You lose articulation? You can always boost the front end of your amp? A Carl Martin plexitone or a tube screamer does a fantastic job. Obviously it depends on the tone you’re shooting for to an extent but if you have a reasonably recent guitar (which you do) then amp choice and settings are probably 90% of the eventual sound.
Ford Slither they’re good enough.. but there are plenty of replacement pickups that sound better.. sustain better.. hotter with more clarity while still getting nasty with the roll of the volume knob
I bought one of these. They are very good, with a great small neck ;the pick ups are great and build quality good, and beautiful finish.I returned it only because the sound has a hollowish sound due it being heavily routed in the body.It actually kind of ruined what would have been an incredible guitar. I have the special tribute and a 50s Standard goldtop and they are excellent .I think the weight relief; resulting in many large cavities being carved out in the mahogany body underneath the maple cap has and taken away the tone. It had a hollow, woody type tone that wasn't as good as the Standard or the les Paul Special tribute.
Got one more thing to say and will be done. I kept having to retune even after the setup shop visit. Went ahead with Grover locking tuners, problem solved. I've read a lot of the controversy and maybe a string change with less wraps might have solved the problem but very satisfied with the Grover rotomatics.
Man this is one of the best values in guitars. I got one used for 625. There are a few for sale for around 750-800. (2018's don't see 2019's yet) At 800 that's likely less than it would cost to buy an Epiphone and upgrade the pickups to match. I can understand wanting to buy new and support the manufacturer, but they already got paid for a guitar someone's not using. Find yourself one, you won't regret it.
I have waited for years to but a Les Paul andI pulled the triger on a 2019 satin tribute. I alrrady own the double cut but never had the real thing before those 2 purchases and couldn't be happier
I just got the 2019 honey burst shipped from GC. I've been a Strat player for years with an exception here and there. Haven't even tried a LP in many years. I liked it right off but sounded a bit off the first day. Thought well, intonation maybe, I'll take it to the setup guy. Next day better and seems to sound more in tune, maybe needed playing?? Plays like a dream despite a little getting used to a lighter touch than my EBMM cutlass. Still going to have setup done this weekend even if minor adjustments. It is one of those guitars you can't put down very long.
No, and not just because I recently got one. Body wood and cap is practically identical to a standard. Where Gibson cuts the cost is in finish and binding. Nothing wrong with getting that Epi but do your homework and you'll see this guitar is more in line with Gibson's more expensive guitars.
Had an epi lp custom and now 2021 gibson lp tribute. Epiphone was very good, but it cant compare with the tribute in any level, sound, quality, playability... In this guitar are amazing.
Marco Tramontana check the used market in reverb or locally. About $700-800. Honestly I wouldn’t buy these new, and I’d look into the 2017-2019 models depending on your taste. I’m an ES type of guy and own various custom shop and Kalamazoo 335/345/355s. These are major bang for your buck. I’d say the gold top looks the most classy after you add the included pickup switch cover

I never like the 490R/T pickups. I'm not so sure about the maple neck.
I think gibson should make all lp's with a maple neck. Sounds much crisper and articulate. Great demo. Thanks👍
