You mentioned that the La Roche Posay Mela B3 Serum has retinol. But you also suggest following up with another retinol after applying Mela B3... Can I double retinol?
My cheek melasma failed to improve with oral tranexamic acid and tinted physical 50+ SPF. Pretty much every topical product from tretinoin, kojic, azelaic, niacinamide, licorice root, chemical peels etc. I am trying this before I do 5% Hydroquinone although I’m not feeling confident this will work but giving it 8-12 weeks
Try Eucerin anti pigment dual serum with thiamidol? However, if you do try it you need to use it for a long period to see results like 6 - 9 months. I saw a Thai lady in the UK with very severe melasma and she used that for 9-12 months and her melasma was drastically fading.
Do you recommend this product for Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation from acne? Any risk of this product causing break outs or purging with acne prone skin?
I had a bad reactio n to it. The first time i applied it almost instantly my skin was burning a little but i thought it started working. I used it twice a day for 4 days and my face got dry, red, itchy, burning and flaky. I stopped using it i have one dark spot on my forehead and hyperpigmentation. I use sunscreen all the time. I dont know which ingredient i reacted to but can you recommend a serum as effective but not irritating?
i wanna know if all 3 main ingredients are in one product so why will i buy another expoliate and retinol? don't you think it will be too much and cause irritation when i add all these chemical also in skincare routine?
Definitely not for everyone, but research shows that more people are likely to use and repurchase products with some fragrance because it improves the user experience.
I have just started using it with a derma roller. I am 46, with hormonal hyperpigmentation. It works really well.
Same age here , light medium skin Latina going thru perimenopause and my hyperpigmentation kicking in , thank you for giving me hope 🙌
Hey does it help with melasma when derma rolling with it?

How about cysteamine? Pros cons compare to melasyl?
Can you recommend a serum that contains alpha arbutin and kojic acid combined?

Same happened to me
Hello, is the mela B3 serum is breastfeeding safe ??
Yes. Should be fine imo
how would one incorporate melab3 when using tretinoin ?
I am on that, too. My dermatologist recommended putting the melab3 serum in place of my regular serum, which I use before moisturizer.
I used it and it did not fix my skin.

Generally these ingredients shouldn't be irritating, so I think there is still value in using a retinol
@@drdustinportela thank you
Please correct the video, it does not contain Retinol. Only Retinyl Palmitate, and there's no research showing these work in any equivalent way
True
It's still a derivative isn't it? It still converts to retinoic acid.
Defo worked on me! But feel hitting a plateau 😢 any advice?? Will try the spf but why don’t they make 50?! 30 doesn’t feel protected 😂
Would also love to see it in a 50!
Thanks doctor
Why do they have to put fragrance in their products 😔
Definitely not for everyone, but research shows that more people are likely to use and repurchase products with some fragrance because it improves the user experience.
Ask the company not some guy on UA-cam
Is this serum pregnancy safe???
I believe it should be, but always recommend discussing with your OB
@@drdustinportela thanks
It smells like eggs to me which make sense since the molecule contains sulfur
