@@ModernDevotion the pads, acid and beats are all incredibly funky and proper, reminiscent of jodey kendrick and co. beginning is my fave bit haha, banging funky braindance pls do more
The sound engine is wide open on this guy. I came from a Moog and or Moog clone background so I was kinda used to bass just being there ya know? So it was a bit to get used to. But once you figure that part out it’s pretty easy to get low end out of it now. I think the thing to remember is that this is a 4 track groove box so they kinda engineered the voice to be very flexible since it could be everything from drums to pads. There’s a lot of work keeping headroom available. Most bassy mono-synths don’t care about that so they go balls out from the jump. Using the high pass or peak filter with filter tracking turned all the way up let’s you dial in your low end to fit your mix. Not as immediately fun like other bass focused synths but much more usable overall. It’s pretty much the opposite of the dual vco from the rytm. That’s all low end sweet spot almost to a fault since you need to choose what your one filter is going to do. You can’t scoop out any lows to make room for a kick with the rytm. But if you’re multi-tracking and mixing who cares you can adjust that part in post.
@@ModernDevotion Thanks...i am thinking about getting a A4 or a Rytm (i have a MPC Live) to get some "analog" flavor...and i am more inclined to the a4, since it can do "Drums" too...altough the rytm seems more "in your face" maybe :)
@@cronenbergj I found the rytm a little tough to break out of the boxes the designers built for you. Obv there’s samples but you have an mpc. I’d say a4 would be better pairing for an mpc
If I recall correctly osc 2 is tuned an octave and a perfect 4th above. And the Chords are similar to open minor 11th voicings a few other folks have expressed interest in the pads from this so I might revisit the concepts used in a future video. :)
Another cracking track ...I am definitely being drawn towards elektron products through videos like this 👌
this is so cool, omg
this is the good stuff!! sold me on an A4 my days
this is pure fire 🔥 ...and You just getting started with A4 #skills
Dude thanks so much! I feel like it's still a little meandering in the beginning but I love the pads so much I figured I'd post it up, lol.

Lovely tuning on the pads. Were you tuning the oscillators per step?
