Nice work and great to see someone using an airbrush. When I enquired about this with cerakote they said it couldn’t be done. Do you have any tips for a beginner to make airbrushing cerakote easier? Tip size, air pressure etc. Keep up the great work 👍
Did love it. But just a suggestion. Can you display the slide by it self with close up in full detail. To see the finish product. You need to show case your great work. Excellent combination. I’ve been looking for a good straight forward tutorial with great colors. Thank you! ~E
So you fully cure your base coat (rather than just curing to a tack free state) before laying any stencils? I always thought the subsequent coats wouldn't stick if you fully cured between layers (stencil applications in this case). That is so cool if that's what you do. Makes it much easier.
Cool video.. so you never mentioned the in-between oven times.. are you just doing flash cures of 15 min.? also. I'm new to cerakote, but been doing powder coating and with multiple layers powder can build up with stencils being a thicker material, so I will peel if I can before final curing to allow the edges to flow a bit so they aren't so sharp. would it make any sense to flash cure the last color then peel all stencils and then final cure?
Hello friend, I speak from Brazil. I would like to know the dimension of the tip you used in the airbrush 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 mm? What pressure range did you use on the compressor? 15 - 20 psi
Hey, I just ordered your stencils Branson- I’m gonna give this a go with an American flag slide overlay... I guess I do the flag first so the camo is behind it! Reverse
@@envsurf Yep. Do the flag. After the last color goes on, tack it, and peel the stencils. Lay on the stencils for the camo, and treat it like a blank slate.
I know I’m late on this and not sure anybody asked yet. This also might be a stupid question. At what temp did you bake that ? I noticed you had the rear slide plate on which is usually plastic. How did you cure the slide without that part melting?
Is priming a thing for even the first layer of coat (base coat) or is base count the primer and acted also like one of the 3 colors. Or is base coat another word for first color of the 3...surry just new and learning 🤔
Base coat is your first layer it’s gunna be your least seen color but will usually be the one that stands out the most. So let’s say you do red white and blue and want white to be least seen you go white first. Stencil spray red or blue next then stencil and repeat. So the base coat is not primer it is one of your colors u choose to see he just went with a black/grey multicam color
Hi i am from turkey and i am your subscriber also. Here i want to try 3 colour cerakode. Same as this video. My english not realy enough to undsrtand your spech. İf posible could you write all process. For example howmany percentage paint need for Base code or did you put the gun in the oven between codes. How many degress and how many minute. Which sticker you used and where can i find it. İf you help me i am really apriciate. Thank you
When applying Cerakote over Cerakote, flash cure at 150 - 180 degrees (F) for 5-15 minutes. Allow parts to cool to room temp before applying additional color(s). When flashing parts for camouflage or stencils, all parts must be fully cured within 24 hours from the initial flash.
That looks AWESOME.............I want to try doing this to my firearms. can you tell me what kind of pray gun you have and where to buy the paint and stencil ???
I'd use a vinyl cutter like a Cricut. They aren't too expensive. You can also use an x-acto knife and cut them out. I think you have to use a high temp masking which you can get online or at places like Uline.
While the pattern maybe a Woodland pattern, the colors are Urban camo. Woodland Camo would be GRAPHITE BLACK. H-146, PATRIOT BROWN. H-226 and HIGHLAND GREEN. H-200.
I love the old woodland BDUs n stuff and the pattern. Awesome video, I love watching cerakote videos.
I ended up liking it more than I thought I would.
What kind of sticker material do you use and do you leave the stickers in place while cooking or remove stickers first?
Same
Nice work. Turned out great. 👍

Nice video mate. Very thorough! Great work!

So spraying inside the slide doesn't make it stick when chambering a round?
@@traysgang mine are nice and tight, no issues.
I doubt it's fully cured
Shouldn’t fully cure between stencil colors, cerakote has lots of instructional videos to watch
3rd video I’ve watched and it finally makes sense. Great video
Looks great. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
That’s looks great. What were the 2nd and 3rd colors? Very nice finished product.
Awesome job looks nice
Cool, you make it look easy
Nice , How long do you let the piece cure in the oven?
You did an awesome job, thank you for the details.
Looks sick!
Awesome work..Congratulations!!
What airbrush do you use and what tip?
Question. Can you reuse the acetone/de-greaser from the dipping station or must you dump and use new liquids every time?
We use it until it isn't clear any more. About 2 - 3 guns worth.
Is it possible to cerakote a diamond fluted barrel 2 different colors? Like the milling lines 1 color and the diamonds themselves a separate color?

Where i can find those stencils for print?
Did you do a full cure between coats or just a flash cure? What is the temp rating for the stencil material?
Is that heat resistant vinyl?
I hope yall make more instructive videos!
Where can I get them stencils

That looks amazing man! Thank you for making this! This will be the video I follow when I do my glock
What temp is the oven at? What type of airbrush and nozzle are you using?
What airbrush are you using? Does it needs to be at least .4 size?
What do you charge for something like this?
Thanks for sharing!!
Congrat Bud.
Where did you get those woodland stencil stickers?
You can find SVG filed to download and use with a cricut if you have one. Otherwise, you can order them online from several websites already precut.

Do you sandblast or do you use a scotchbrite/sand paper?
From what I know, you must sandblast
Nice
Quick question, what can i do to avoid big steps between coats?
Lighter coats and follow up with a clear coat to smooth everything out
Where to buy stencil?

High temp. Cerakote.com has it.
