Thank you so much for this wonderfully evocative collection of photos. I know they aren't of anything "special", but for some reason I can't put my finger on, they took me back to some very happy days and I found the footage very emotional.
Thanks for sharing. Brings back a lot of happy memories that I had as a child that went on holiday there in the 1970’s. Your photos just capture perfectly how Scarborough was in its day.

Many happy memories at Scarborough with a few friends that are not with us anymore in my youth. Still have good times with my beautiful wife..
What a lovely memory, went there as a kid from Glasgow 79, 80 and 81, loved the place x

So sad that most of the attractions that made 1979 Scarborough so great are long gone.
Jeff Allinson yes the futurist theatre gone, North and south Bay pools, thanks to the clowns in power.
It's still an extremely popular resort though, despite these "great" landmarks being taken away.
@@ghamandlupinwalkingtours The place has lost a lot of its sparkle. I still love it though.
LIVED THERE FROM 1982 TILL 89. LOVED THE PLACE. FAVOURITE PUB, THE MUCKY DUCK.
I went to Scarborough for a concert in 2021.
I remember the Indian Palmist at Corrigans. We as kids took the Micky out of him and he would chase us but not far as he was a bit overweight.
Have you any photos of Scarborough in the Victorian days. Especially pictures of North Marin Road Cricket ground. Please
Sorry, no. I'm not from Scarborough myself. Those photos were from Easter 1979
Brill old pics looks so sterile now 😢
