  • Do you have any leaking windows or doors? In this video I show you how I repaired a leak by replacing an incorrect capping job.
I used this tape for sealing around the door properly:

I see you used tape and 3 screws for securing the header j Chanel. Does that not interrogate the flashing tape and flashing metal to cause potential water leaks? Or is the siding enough to protect that

Mine is trimmed on the exterior similar to yours, I thought the guy knew how to do it right ....wrong! Now the odor of mold and mildew is so strong I can smell it everytime I walk in there. I know the plywood underlayment of the floor got rotted cause I can see that, but I wonder should I tear out the drywall and make sure it isn't also coming from the wall. I'm thinking about replacing the sliding door, and I don't know how to trim the exterior even if I had the equipment. I had one estimate of $4, 900 to replace the existing 60" wide sliding door with a 72" wide Pella 350 series with blinds inside of it, and they'd re-trim the siding of course. I backed out of that after I realized they wanted $4,900 for a new sliding door.. so I think the labor comes to about $2,000 and you know contractors don't pay what we do at Lowe's, so labor was even more than that.

The top piece of flashing has to be behind the siding and taped in order to be water lapped properly

Diy? Yeah right... you skipped a ton of steps and designed a piece that no DIYer could do...

Not sure how this is DIY when no one I know has a siding bender in their garage.
