agreed, not that it needs it, but axe got the least skills among all weapons from nioh 1 to 2 to date, it's not really fun anything gets cool and nice stuff as an axe main and you get nothing
The ideia of use the rotation of the body with a parry to decrease the delay to start a new strong action is amazing. When it launchs is PC, I will make a pure Great Axe build, without doubt.
Nioh is a Masterpiece. Thank the Creator for Team Ninja....They carried the Generation with the best action rpg combat. DMC V....Sorry . The remaster for ps5 will be off the chain
I've played all of these games and Nioh 2 has far and away the best and most complex combat and mechanics out of all of them. The only thing that comes close is Sekiro but it's very linear and streamlined and although I love the combat in Sekiro it isn't nearly as involved and dynamic as Nioh.
Odachi just got one of the most OP animation cancels. Stuck in moonlit snow wind up? No anima or kunai to ani-cancel? Just straight up stress mash the triangle button 👍
Blue moon actually has a huge damage buff independent of other buffs. Roughly a 30% increase. It just has incredibly slow startup and doesn't last very long. Could be useful for zero-ki iai Quickdraw/ grapple damage though
Midstance Cyclone is pretty overpowered.. It's quick, has high DPS, good mobility, great tracking, good ki damage, and easily breaks horns or hits any weird weakspots. You can stunlock a lot of human bosses and repeatedly grapple them with it. The only problem is that it makes most of the other mvoes on Switchglaive look bad. High stance cyclone is actually a slower version but it's only slightly stronger and tends to miss some hits. It also has a different followup and grapple animation on Cyclone II.. Not sure if any other moves have changes in different stances. Kibosh Kicker is also just like a bad Cyclone. No idea why they couldn't give it other good finishers besides Mind's Edge which is also stuck on midstance.
I sat through the first 6 and a half minutes thinking "man, these skills are all really cool, I can't wait for Tonfa to only have one completely useless skill." I have never been more happy to be proven wrong, this is an entire new layer to their gameplay. Thank you for finally throwing me a bone, Team Ninja.
This makes me really interested/excited to check out more weapons. Ive been mainly a spear user since Nioh 1's beta days, but these new skills on everything look badass
Is it just me or the spear and axe got a lame skills compared to the others.. the spear pole dance looks great but you just push them away so not all hits connect and the axe, what happened to the axe..
@@adekaiwamisou She's in the Alluring Ancient mission in "The First Samurai" region. You need to get three items which are in each mission you can get Kodamas in (ie the two main missions and the chasing the elixir mission). Then you can fight her. I'm sad we can't transform into her tho ;(
THE AXE GETS NO LOVE there's so many moves and styles they could bring in, I'm assuming because its less popular? But the Axe has so many skills that are just missing.
Its mostly right after the flash light that you need to remember for the timing. One way to follow the timing is by the audio from your attack. Each stage usually throws 5 hit before going to another so you may want to keep memorizing your attack.
Fatal thrust (spear skill) activates a grapple if you run an enemy out of ki with it. Does it activate on the the basic grapple or any special ones you have equipped such as merciless barrage?
When the silver light flashes during the animation, I think it’s 3-4 times, but after each successful button press, the timing speeds up. Takes practice, I’m still trying to learn it cause uuugghh that’s a meaty combo

GEEZUS that final skill with fists is insane!!! Really love all the additions to katana, dual katana, odachi, hatchets and fists/claws!

It absolutely wrecks with a paralyze build. Honestly fist with imbue paralysis are alone can stun lock in low stance easily

For me, I had to go back the PS store and re purchase it. It will br displayed as free if you had already purchased the season pass.

its because of the mystic art of tonfa: Kannagi. you can learn it from completing highest dojo lvl for tonfa.

Its only with a skill attack that you cancel with kannagi. You simply spin (press R1) right at the start of the skill attack.

It's basically like Ichimonji from Sekiro. Put the increased ki damage modifier on it and it breaks enemy gaurd so easy. I spam that shit on humans.
