#TequilaCamTuesday..... The long awaited 130 build video is here for your viewing pleasure. Grab a margarita or three and enjoy the stupidity. Let me know if you have any questions!!
where can i find those wheels in europe? roval website only ships them in the us, and on the specialized italia there are none, just the new ones that are heavier, more expensive and uglier
The total dream rig right there! The new sb130 is so beautiful! It might be one of my next bikes! The new generation of small travel bikes are so capable. I love how you make fun on Pinkbike from time to time. Imagine those people ride as much as they comment!
Big thanks on the build Nate👍🏼learned a few tricks. Next time, a little more instruction on making the cocktail. I found myself pulling directly from the bottle cuz I just couldn’t follow along quick enough😉
This video was very informative. This format outshines your other bike checks because you show additional tips and hacks as you build it. Transparent pipe on derailleur, vinyl, “Clear Brah”, Etc. What is CLEAR BRAH? Thanks and do more of this. Thanks nerd
Surprisingly information bike builds vids! Always fun to watch when it's cocktail time.I just slapped some fresh Minion DHF's on my Yeti this week. I LOVE new Minion day also haha! Cheers dude!
first bike build ive watched till the end. wasnt really bothered about the bike more just listening to you chat on about bikes! awesome vid. would love to see more mechanical videos!
Nate, morning from Bangkok during my "on rotation" flying gig. I must say its great to see you in a kick back relaxed , jovial mode and enjoying some killer T when building your Yeti as opposed to your hair raising downhill intense MTB'n! Always enjoy your videos and for giving me a lot of confidence and admiration to better my riding skills. Blue skies brother, Jg
Nice vid mate. Great to watch and love the humour. Looked at a SB 130 today at local bike shop ,they are sweet bikes. Looking forward to your thoughts. Cheers Nate👍👍
Fek yeah! Anytime you combine tequila and new bike day...life is glorious. Especially a real lime marg. I've been seeing pics here and there of your 130, but never quite got a solid "up close" look at your build. Super solid, amigo. Will definitely check out those Roval wheels. Keep pedalin' and enjoying the margs!
I’m always learning something off you firstly where to ride secondly more alcohol needed thirdly 34 teeth is almost 36 fourthly I could always go faster! Fifth that amount of editing is time consuming!! Still ain’t come down from the Enchilada thanks for the inspiration ✊️
im glad to hear you say do whats comfortable (gearing and cockpit) here lately all my buddies just do and copy whats on the internet. im all for customizing for comfort and because you perfer it.... so fuk um iv allways been an upstream type of guy anyway....
I'm bummed that this bike doesn't have the flipped and shrouded stanchions like the SB100, but I love the new look of it. Still wondering if it is 29er/b+ capable. Thanks for posting, and being straightforward about sponsorship or lack there of WRT parts.
I have been running a 2.5 Minnion in the rear without issue. Transparency is the best policy. Not trying to fool anyone, I am fortunate to have the support!
Badass bike! I'm a monster of a man at 240 lbs kitted up. I'm thinking I should be on a 150 for the extra beefiness. Or do you think the 130 is up for the challenge?
Really curious why you went with the 130 vs. the 150? Especially if you put on a 160MM fork in the 130. For as gnarly as you get, seemed like the better fit. Loved this vid BTW.
Thanks for watching man. I will be building a 150 with a 170mm fork in the near future. Honestly, the 130 handles 90 percent of my riding really well. 150 will be a park\DH rig for me. Smash Wagon.
Should def do a show like this where u talk bikes stuff. Really like the one on one feel of this vid. Would be awesome variety with the riding vids, you've got the personality for it and all the knowledge as well!🤙🤙 #tequilacamtuedsday
Always quality !! Nate ; Nate can you Run a Fox 36 160 on the SB 130 & cranks can you go down to 165 instead of the standard 175 to reduce Rock strikes ; Loved your bike build👍🏼🤘🏻😎👌🏻
Those are the important things! Always enjoy the videos and if you're ever in the Southeast (Atlanta, TN, NC) area, would be great to have you join up on one of our ChattaHooligan rides.
That quick glimpse of you swinging a hammer into you bottom bracket at the beginning made me gasp out loud! lol Sweet new sled Nate, I'm sure you'll give her a proper spanking on every ride!
The geo feels very different. Feels just as stable as 55, but seems to be a bit quicker to turn and has a more lively feel on trail to me. The steep seat angle is SO much better for climbing. Still love my 55 though.
I made my own custom bike frame protection using a traction pad for surfing......you can cut the traction pad into strips or pieces to fit whatever you want to protect on your frame.....Its not clear like the invis protection but its actually a lot better to protect your investment, Has some padding built into it so when your rig slams the ground or rocks it actually has a small cushion to absorb the impact, and all the places I ride everyone is like that is really cool what is that? I use Da Kine surf traction.....DAKINE brah!!! Keep up the amazing content!!
2 parts Tequila, 1 part lime Juice. 1/2 part honey or other sweetener. Shake, salt, pour, consume, repeat. I was out of serrano peppers unfortunately....
First thing first, you are quiet a bit bartender, always know what is the right at the moment, CHEERS!!! The build is just perfect, love the 36 chain ring, is great to use "real man" gear when need it, preorder mine, love to run oval and YETI recommended only up to 34, so will have 32-34 (even my wife has the same), always saying you can or you can't climb hard stuff, not any BS spinning like hovering helicopter , done!!!! Have to tell this, wishing you many many new frames and components for great entertaining video builds like you done already...... NERD, you need to meet me, everybody knows that right color coordination and personal touch make your bike faster, cooler and easier to pedal than any average one of billion low standard! Enjoy!
Told you last winter we are buying 5.5, but we didn't , spent money on camper van downpayment, this year is the year, I am getting SB150 and wife SB5 Beti, was worth to wait I think, tested 2 weeks ago and decision is concerted , cant wait, thank you again for entertaining production, maaaan!
This was such an awesome bike build! Now that you have ridden these bikes for a bit, if you were smack dab in between sizes (5'10.5") would you size up or down? The internet tends to say up, but large feels pretty big...
Thanks for the awesome vid Hillsy! Mines on order but as I am a non-ambassador slouch 🤪 it’ll be awhile before it arrives. Did the Stages clear the chainstay without mods? I was afraid the sensor/battery housing was going to rub and force me to switch to Quarq...🤞
The arm that I am using clears with about 3mm without any mods. This is the most clearance I have seen after running meters on the bikes for. a couple of years now. Stoked.
So good man. Love these build videos. Can't wait to ride one of these bikes. Purely for the water bottle of course. Should have put a "PinkBike" branded bottle in while making this video. Would have made this over the top and probably brought down the interwebs. :-)
Rly liked watching this! Especially since i worked a lot on my mew bike the last months! One Question on suspension: how many volume spacers do you run and whats your SAG?
Not sure how many spacers are in the rear, 2 tokens if front. I may add a token. I run 30ish percent sag in the rear and never measure the front. Hope that helps.
Nate Hills thanks, that helped. I‘m trying different setups in my fork and had good succed with two spacers for the steep tech trails i ride in the alps. But for my hometrails this is two much. Do you change setup for different terrain?
I know the boys over there very will. Jeff and his crew are top-notch. However, that shock is not available to purchase. I'm wondering if you have any pull over at RockShox to have that baby put in production?
Hello, Nate and thanks for the tutorial. I need your help in selecting the right SB130 for me. I live in the Seattle WA area and ride places like Tiger Mountain, Raging River, Olallie, Tokul, etc. I'm an advanced rider who can easily do black diamond trails and some double black diamond trails but not without walking hairy parts of them. I'm ready to buy a new SB130 and I'm torn between 2 builds Yeti currently offers: 1. The Race X01 build 2. The new Lunch Ride version. I'm afraid that if I go with the Race X01 build, my downhill performance won't be so good and if I go with the Lunch Ride version, my climbing performance will suffer. How much will I gain/lose choosing one build over the other? I know the Lunch Ride version is slightly heavier than the Race X01 version. However, I'm definitely planning on going with the carbon wheel upgrade Yeti offers. What is your advice? I welcome advice from other SB130 owners too but I realize most people don't have a new SB130 Lunch Ride because they just came out about a week ago. Thanks for your time!
My 130 has basically been a LR since day 1. You really aren't compromising much on the uphill, but the bike really comes alive with the taller fork. Unless you are racing uphill, I wouldn't really focus on weight, but fun. The LR will let you get a bit more loose and have more fun. At the end of the day, that is what puts a smile on my face. Hope that helps!
Nate, I ordered the 3M tape you suggested and was curious if you've had any issues with it peeling while applying dry instead of wet as recommended. Thanks!
Hi Nate, it's drew again from Yorkshire UK great cams on Friday's as usual !! You know you have 160 mm Up front on your SB 130 that's what I'm going to do with mine. ! You said it drops the front by 1/2 degree to 65 has affected the climbing by much? As your a Rock shox Athlete & I would have the Fox DPX2 instead of the De- Lux shock ? Best wishes Drew 👍❄️🌲🌲🌨️
How does she do when you get her into some bigger stuff? For my riding style, this bike would be more suitable than the 150 for the most part, especially if i threw a 160 in the front. But I do see myself getting a bit more sendy in the future, and love to hit bike parks a few times a season. I am coming off an SB5.5 which was the sweet spot for. I cant decide between 130 or 150
Cool build Nate! Love Yeti! Are you use it any rim protector like cushcore, panzer or other? What do you think also to save some flats and can finish a trail without change the tube? Thx!
I haven't run any inserts. I down't really want to mess with cushcore as it is a complete pain and completely useless if you are really far from civilization for. a few days at a time. I like the pool toy idea, may give that a go.
Nate so has the 36 t chain ring eat into the frame yet ? I run a 36 as well and looking at a Yeti but not if I can't run a 36 voiding warranty Booooo ! Also Thanks for ALL those AWESOME Videos RIPPIN and Shreddin IT UP !
#TequilaCamTuesday..... The long awaited 130 build video is here for your viewing pleasure. Grab a margarita or three and enjoy the stupidity. Let me know if you have any questions!!
Yeah, I got one... how can I become a matchy, matchy, tequila nerd? 😂
The more you drink Russell, the easier it gets.
Here's a awesome question....What's better 26 or 27.5 or even 29er ? 🤣😂🤣😂
Pinkbike is waiting for you Superminiracer..... haha
where can i find those wheels in europe? roval website only ships them in the us, and on the specialized italia there are none, just the new ones that are heavier, more expensive and uglier
"...think they make like fishing poles" 😂so good!
Lures, reels, that sort of thing.....
Can't say Shima....fishing poles lol
Yes, proper color matching! (paused vid>hit like button>continued vid) Sick bike man and nice build!
I'm such a dork.
Unless you’re red/orange color blind like me. Cool to see the tracing idea. #kindergartenflashbacks
The total dream rig right there! The new sb130 is so beautiful! It might be one of my next bikes! The new generation of small travel bikes are so capable. I love how you make fun on Pinkbike from time to time. Imagine those people ride as much as they comment!
The PB comment section if good for a laugh now and then. Time is better spent riding though, if you ask me, ha.
Big thanks on the build Nate👍🏼learned a few tricks. Next time, a little more instruction on making the cocktail. I found myself pulling directly from the bottle cuz I just couldn’t follow along quick enough😉
Sounds like you are drinking correctly! ha
Dat sponsors disclosure doe 👌
Sick machine!
Transparency is always the best policy.
First bike build I’ve watched in ages. Enough detail without boring. Like your “matter of fact” style and tequila interludes... 🤘🏼
Thanks Tim, drinking while watching this video also makes it more interesting, haha.
nice one. One of the best bike build video's I've seen. Perfect amount of detail mixed with not taking bikes too seriously. Thanks, Nate
Never take things too seriously, bikes are fun. Just like tequila. Thanks for watching!
I don't think anyone on Pinkbike actually rides. They just sit on the internet all day criticizing everything! Anyway, sweet bike there broski!
Always wondered if they actually ride... Pure entertainment if nothing else.
This video was very informative. This format outshines your other bike checks because you show additional tips and hacks as you build it. Transparent pipe on derailleur, vinyl, “Clear Brah”, Etc. What is CLEAR BRAH?
Thanks and do more of this. Thanks nerd
Clear braah is thinly sliced bro bras that have been bleached and pounded until they become translucent.
Best 20mins I spent all week! Sick build🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thanks for watching all of that!
Surprisingly information bike builds vids! Always fun to watch when it's cocktail time.I just slapped some fresh Minion DHF's on my Yeti this week. I LOVE new Minion day also haha! Cheers dude!
New minion day is the best day!
I AM JEALOUS!!! This bike was on my short list, but way too expensive. So I wound up with a new '18 SB5.5 instead... Thanks, Nate!
Enjoy! I have had several 55's. You will be stoked! Still love mine.
first bike build ive watched till the end. wasnt really bothered about the bike more just listening to you chat on about bikes! awesome vid. would love to see more mechanical videos!
Real talk, ha. Thanks for watching.
You crack me up!
Seriously can't believe that you are actually at home. Thought that you lived on the road!
Can't wait to see the ride video.
Loving some quality time in the cave of man.
giggled quite a few times through this video. makes me want to build a bike for the first time
Do it.
definitely a chain guide and bashguard when you run a 36t. me, out of shape running a 30 t, never hit it.
Great video! Had it on in the background with headphones on and the cheering that you added scared the shit out of me!
Probably the funniest bike build I’ve seen before
hands down the best mtb youtuber out there!!!
i road this bike this past weekend..sweet!! rig..obviously not spec out like Mr Hills
Thanks Jason. Glad you got to throw a leg over her.
Beautiful build, proper cocktails. 10/10.
Cheers Ryan
Loved the video. I can't wait to get my SB130 ordered! Also, cool tip on the vinyl to color coordinate. I'll definitely be using it! Cheers Nate.
Cheers Brian, enjoy your new bike;)
Nice vid mate.
Great to watch and love the humour.
Looked at a SB 130 today at local bike shop ,they are sweet bikes.
Looking forward to your thoughts.
Cheers Nate👍👍
At 09:10 tequila was already possessing you 🤣, thank god you didn't cut a leg of your Lyrik instead of the steer tube.
Haha, close one. Measure 14 times, cut 3 times....
This was awesome. Shows your relaxed personality, which is way cool!
It was the tequila talking, ha.
Nate your the man! I think you should run a 38 tooth ring up front! Your bike builds are great thanks!
Wish it would fit! haha. Mountain gearing.
Dude! This is entertaining as hell. You’re a funny dude and a great rider. Cheers!
Haha, thanks for watching. Glad I could amuse you.
Fun video. Thanks for not getting too serious on the 🚲 build.
Happy Trails on your new rig bro 🤘
What me serious? Never.
Nate I always knew you were a stud, but damn, you're THE most interesting man in the world!
Haha!
Alien technology. Love the video. After a ride, I eat popcorn and watch your channel.
Sounds like a solid recovery plan David!
Once you’ve had some time in the saddle would love to see a review on the 130!
Right on Nate! Can't wait to see this beast in action!
Awesome bike man! i'm going to own it soon, you're the best, Thanks Nate!
You will enjoy! I promise.
I’m always learning something off you firstly where to ride secondly more alcohol needed thirdly 34 teeth is almost 36 fourthly I could always go faster! Fifth that amount of editing is time consuming!!
Still ain’t come down from the Enchilada thanks for the inspiration ✊️
No worries Mitch. Glad you enjoyed your enchiladas.
im glad to hear you say do whats comfortable (gearing and cockpit) here lately all my buddies just do and copy whats on the internet. im all for customizing for comfort and because you perfer it.... so fuk um iv allways been an upstream type of guy anyway....
Do what feels good man. There is no "right" way, just preferences. Enjoy the ride!
I'm bummed that this bike doesn't have the flipped and shrouded stanchions like the SB100, but I love the new look of it. Still wondering if it is 29er/b+ capable. Thanks for posting, and being straightforward about sponsorship or lack there of WRT parts.

Badass bike! I'm a monster of a man at 240 lbs kitted up. I'm thinking I should be on a 150 for the extra beefiness. Or do you think the 130 is up for the challenge?
Bigger or smaller than Richie? haha. I say go 150 and smash into everything!
Love your transparency and love watching your vids!
Great build, Nate. Thanks for sharing.
Sweet bike, sweet looking work area.
That bike is perfect
Those are some nice G Loomis pedals! Lol Man! It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a video out of the shop and it was gold!
Haha, thanks mang
Team Daiwa bruh!
Sick build man! Try installing the clear bra with water and a shot of isopropyl alcohol, it will lay down nice and smooth 👍🏼
Should def do a show like this where u talk bikes stuff. Really like the one on one feel of this vid. Would be awesome variety with the riding vids, you've got the personality for it and all the knowledge as well!🤙🤙 #tequilacamtuedsday
Thanks Carson. Definitely considering doing some more of this style of video. Just need some more tequila... ha.
Always quality !! Nate ; Nate can you Run a Fox 36 160 on the SB 130 & cranks can you go down to 165 instead of the standard 175 to reduce Rock strikes ; Loved your bike build👍🏼🤘🏻😎👌🏻
You could run any fork or crank you like. I have no issues with 175
can this handle a vail pass shuttle?? seriously, sick build. hopefully this sees some good action at home before things change too much.
Haha, hope it is up to the task. Snow is coming!
Nice build! Oh and the Santa Cruz organic tequila mix is da bomb! Makes for some pretty tasty margaritas!
I will give that a try. Thanks for the tip. These are the important things, haha.
Those are the important things! Always enjoy the videos and if you're ever in the Southeast (Atlanta, TN, NC) area, would be great to have you join up on one of our ChattaHooligan rides.
Nice build! Have a similar setup on my vitus sommet crs love it!
That quick glimpse of you swinging a hammer into you bottom bracket at the beginning made me gasp out loud! lol Sweet new sled Nate, I'm sure you'll give her a proper spanking on every ride!
I promise to ride this bike with complete disregard for my personal safety.
Any thoughts on the 130 vs 5.5?
Bought a 5.5 last fall and love it. (Water bottle cage wasn't a deal breaker for me......lol.)
The geo feels very different. Feels just as stable as 55, but seems to be a bit quicker to turn and has a more lively feel on trail to me. The steep seat angle is SO much better for climbing. Still love my 55 though.
Bought 5.5 in the Spring. It's a monster. Can run over anything!!!
Good tip right there. I bet that offers a lot more protections than the clear bra. Good stuff! #adam'sbikehacks
Hahaha im a bit of a bike nerd myself, raced Mammoth last weekend it came in handy!
using a traction pad seems like a huge waste of money (unless its recycled) you could use 3m adhesive foam instead in order to save some money
I gave used mastic tape before for the chainstays. Works great.
Nate Hills - Legend as always!
That’s a nice ride bro! Cheers to you!!
Cheers Grant.
Sweet build
Always dig the insight to the setups
Best bike build vid ever. Great job :D
Thanks Chris.
Nate, I mustache you a question...can you give us your cocktail recipe?
2 parts Tequila, 1 part lime Juice. 1/2 part honey or other sweetener. Shake, salt, pour, consume, repeat. I was out of serrano peppers unfortunately....
I was trawling the comments for this exact query, before I asked! hahaha
Enjoy!
Haha, thanks for the kind words Verdon! Stoked you are getting one, you will be amazed. So much fun!
A camper van is always a god gall. Got to have some place to store those bikes, ha.
This was such an awesome bike build! Now that you have ridden these bikes for a bit, if you were smack dab in between sizes (5'10.5") would you size up or down? The internet tends to say up, but large feels pretty big...
I relate to your big chainring use lol, I ride a 40 up front hehe
Yes, same team.
Dude, that bike is properly beautiful
Still waiting on an espresso setup check... good shit as usual man
Awesome, been waiting for so long for another one. thanks man
Thanks for waiting.
best bike build video ever
Thanks!
Stoked.
Such a sick build!
Cheers Scott.
Sick bike how does the YETI 130 compare with my KONA 153DL small..
Best mtb vid of 2018 tbh...
Thanks Bud!
So good man. Love these build videos. Can't wait to ride one of these bikes. Purely for the water bottle of course. Should have put a "PinkBike" branded bottle in while making this video. Would have made this over the top and probably brought down the interwebs. :-)
Haha, good idea. That would have broken the inter webs.
Great video, very entertaining Nate!
Awesome bike Nate! What is the chain guide you used? I can't find it on your parts list, and every MRP chain guide I see only fits 1x11 on its spec.
Mrp SXG. 11 is the same as 12 Spd.
sweet build!
I know the boys over there very will. Jeff and his crew are top-notch. However, that shock is not available to purchase. I'm wondering if you have any pull over at RockShox to have that baby put in production?
Haha, that is not my call friend, I'm just an athlete. Guess this one is custom. Maybe someday.
What's the diameter of the clear tubing you use to cover the rear derailleur cable housing? Siick bike! 🤙
Such an awesome video made by an awesome guy, nice.
Cheers Yannick.
Man these new Yeti frames look awesome. Some day I'll retire the 575...nawwwwwww.
Great vid although Scotch and cigars is the superior activity while bike buildering.....
Like the Tequila, like the Breville , and man that Yeti 👌
All the good things.
Nate, I ordered the 3M tape you suggested and was curious if you've had any issues with it peeling while applying dry instead of wet as recommended. Thanks!
I have only used it dry and never had an issue.
SUper awesome and fun bike build!!
ps. so many stans bottles on the right hahaha
Always prepared m8.
Good video, Nate!
Hi Nate, it's drew again from Yorkshire UK great cams on Friday's as usual !!
You know you have 160 mm
Up front on your SB 130 that's what I'm going to do with mine.
I cant decide between 130 or 150
130 feels similar to my 55. I would imagine the 150 is overkill for most of the riding we do. Almost a dh rig...
Nerd. Brilliant suggestion on the trace transfer. I'm a nerd too.
What's the total weight come in at for this awesome build. The frame with rear shock looks super light...
I never weigh my bikes, they are as light as I feel comfortable without compromising durability. Probably 30 if I had to guess with real tires.
Thanks for doing this Cam!
Edit: Thanks neeeeerd
NEEERDDDD!
Thats a dream bike
Great job! I like to buy my next yeti from you
Awesome bike build great video 👍 Bud light 💡 please! 💪🏋️♀️🚴♀️😎
You drink Bud Light? lol
Okay that was pretty funny I enjoy Tequila as well 🤫
Ever mix tequila into bud light? ha@@MTBTexasBikeRider
A matter a fact “Yes” I have😏
Is this your go-to rig for Sedona trails or the 150? Awesome bike!
Either way.
