    The total dream rig right there! The new sb130 is so beautiful! It might be one of my next bikes! The new generation of small travel bikes are so capable. I love how you make fun on Pinkbike from time to time. Imagine those people ride as much as they comment!

    This video was very informative. This format outshines your other bike checks because you show additional tips and hacks as you build it. Transparent pipe on derailleur, vinyl, “Clear Brah”, Etc. What is CLEAR BRAH?
    Thanks and do more of this. Thanks nerd

    • @natehills9388

      Clear braah is thinly sliced bro bras that have been bleached and pounded until they become translucent.

    I'm bummed that this bike doesn't have the flipped and shrouded stanchions like the SB100, but I love the new look of it. Still wondering if it is 29er/b+ capable. Thanks for posting, and being straightforward about sponsorship or lack there of WRT parts.

    Badass bike! I'm a monster of a man at 240 lbs kitted up. I'm thinking I should be on a 150 for the extra beefiness. Or do you think the 130 is up for the challenge?

  • @blakcloud2561
    @blakcloud2561 6 років тому +1

    Really curious why you went with the 130 vs. the 150? Especially if you put on a 160MM fork in the 130. For as gnarly as you get, seemed like the better fit. Loved this vid BTW.

    • @natehills9388
      @natehills9388  6 років тому +1

      Thanks for watching man. I will be building a 150 with a 170mm fork in the near future. Honestly, the 130 handles 90 percent of my riding really well. 150 will be a park\DH rig for me. Smash Wagon.

    Any thoughts on the 130 vs 5.5?
    Bought a 5.5 last fall and love it. (Water bottle cage wasn't a deal breaker for me......lol.)

    • @natehills9388
      @natehills9388  6 років тому +2

      The geo feels very different. Feels just as stable as 55, but seems to be a bit quicker to turn and has a more lively feel on trail to me. The steep seat angle is SO much better for climbing. Still love my 55 though.

    • @marek19

  • @loamtrailer805
    @loamtrailer805 6 років тому +1

    I made my own custom bike frame protection using a traction pad for surfing......you can cut the traction pad into strips or pieces to fit whatever you want to protect on your frame.....Its not clear like the invis protection but its actually a lot better to protect your investment, Has some padding built into it so when your rig slams the ground or rocks it actually has a small cushion to absorb the impact, and all the places I ride everyone is like that is really cool what is that? I use Da Kine surf traction.....DAKINE brah!!! Keep up the amazing content!!

    • @natehills9388
      @natehills9388  6 років тому +2

      Good tip right there. I bet that offers a lot more protections than the clear bra. Good stuff! #adam'sbikehacks

    First thing first, you are quiet a bit bartender, always know what is the right at the moment, CHEERS!!! The build is just perfect, love the 36 chain ring, is great to use "real man" gear when need it, preorder mine, love to run oval and YETI recommended only up to 34, so will have 32-34 (even my wife has the same), always saying you can or you can't climb hard stuff, not any BS spinning like hovering helicopter , done!!!! Have to tell this, wishing you many many new frames and components for great entertaining video builds like you done already...... NERD, you need to meet me, everybody knows that right color coordination and personal touch make your bike faster, cooler and easier to pedal than any average one of billion low standard! Enjoy!

    One Question on suspension: how many volume spacers do you run and whats your SAG?

    • @natehills9388
      @natehills9388  6 років тому

      Not sure how many spacers are in the rear, 2 tokens if front. I may add a token. I run 30ish percent sag in the rear and never measure the front. Hope that helps.

    • @Simssss888
      @Simssss888 6 років тому

      Nate Hills thanks, that helped. I‘m trying different setups in my fork and had good succed with two spacers for the steep tech trails i ride in the alps. But for my hometrails this is two much. Do you change setup for different terrain?

    Hello, Nate and thanks for the tutorial. I need your help in selecting the right SB130 for me. I live in the Seattle WA area and ride places like Tiger Mountain, Raging River, Olallie, Tokul, etc. I'm an advanced rider who can easily do black diamond trails and some double black diamond trails but not without walking hairy parts of them. I'm ready to buy a new SB130 and I'm torn between 2 builds Yeti currently offers: 1. The Race X01 build 2. The new Lunch Ride version. I'm afraid that if I go with the Race X01 build, my downhill performance won't be so good and if I go with the Lunch Ride version, my climbing performance will suffer. How much will I gain/lose choosing one build over the other? I know the Lunch Ride version is slightly heavier than the Race X01 version. However, I'm definitely planning on going with the carbon wheel upgrade Yeti offers. What is your advice? I welcome advice from other SB130 owners too but I realize most people don't have a new SB130 Lunch Ride because they just came out about a week ago. Thanks for your time!

      My 130 has basically been a LR since day 1. You really aren't compromising much on the uphill, but the bike really comes alive with the taller fork. Unless you are racing uphill, I wouldn't really focus on weight, but fun. The LR will let you get a bit more loose and have more fun. At the end of the day, that is what puts a smile on my face. Hope that helps!

    What's the diameter of the clear tubing you use to cover the rear derailleur cable housing? Siick bike! 🤙

    Nate, I ordered the 3M tape you suggested and was curious if you've had any issues with it peeling while applying dry instead of wet as recommended. Thanks!

      I have only used it dry and never had an issue.

    Hi Nate, it's drew again from Yorkshire UK great cams on Friday's as usual !!
    You know you have 160 mm
    Up front on your SB 130 that's what I'm going to do with mine. ! You said it drops the front by 1/2 degree to 65 has affected the climbing by much? As your a Rock shox Athlete & I would have the Fox DPX2 instead of the De- Lux shock ?
    Best wishes Drew 👍❄️🌲🌲🌨️

    How does she do when you get her into some bigger stuff? For my riding style, this bike would be more suitable than the 150 for the most part, especially if i threw a 160 in the front. But I do see myself getting a bit more sendy in the future, and love to hit bike parks a few times a season. I am coming off an SB5.5 which was the sweet spot for. I cant decide between 130 or 150

      130 feels similar to my 55. I would imagine the 150 is overkill for most of the riding we do. Almost a dh rig...

    What's the total weight come in at for this awesome build. The frame with rear shock looks super light...

      @natehills9388  6 років тому +1

      I never weigh my bikes, they are as light as I feel comfortable without compromising durability. Probably 30 if I had to guess with real tires.

    Cool build Nate! Love Yeti!
    Are you use it any rim protector like cushcore, panzer or other?
    What do you think also to save some flats and can finish a trail without change the tube?
    Thx!

    • @natehills9388
      @natehills9388  6 років тому

      I haven't run any inserts. I down't really want to mess with cushcore as it is a complete pain and completely useless if you are really far from civilization for. a few days at a time. I like the pool toy idea, may give that a go.
