@@therealnecromancer1231 I know that opinions exist and all of that boring talk, but you really can't compare Dark Souls to Minecraft because it is inheretly an invalid comparison since both games are very different from eachother, one game is like a meal cooked by a mother with love, care, and competency (Dark Souls) while the other one is like you are given an entire kichen filled with all ingredients, spices, ovens ect, and you are given total freedom on what meals to make and how to make them while still provided with recipe/cooking books if you want to use them for help (Minecraft). I remember watching that Golden Joystick Award event and I couldn't be more happier that two of my favorite games of all time, Doom and Dark Souls, took the top spot for Games of all Time. I mentioned this in your previous video but Doom and Dark Souls are practically the same when it comes to influence. Back in 93, Doom popularize the FPS genre and every FPS games after that were called as Doom-clones since the term 'FPS Game' was not yet "invented". Same with Dark Souls. Every game that takes heavy inspiration from DS are called as Souls-likes, which is something that haven't change which tbf, Souls-like is more of a sub-genre to ARPGs whereas FPS is a whole genre. Another parallel I noticed is that Demon's Souls is basically how Wolfenstein is to Doom. Demon's Souls is the early iteration of 'Souls-likes', much like how Wolfenstein is to FPS games. In which after that, their successor/spiritual successor (Demon's to DS and Wolfenstein to Doom) polishes their predecessor's formula.
@@dondonrv Yes I agree! Doom would 100% win the number 1 spot if DS wasn't there. I mean come on, Doom is technically responsible for the most saturated gaming genre in modern day, that being FPS games. COD, BF, Overwatch, Valorant, CS, you name it. But, you can kinda say the same thing with DS. Either way, I'm just happy that Doom and DS is considered as Games of All Time.

I’m assuming you’re compiling interviews and such and translating them/putting them in a timeline. I ask because I’ve never heard this much in depth info before.

Never knew this game won this award…got hooked on souls games since bloodborne…I started playin in 2019 and I’ve been hooked ever since…hearing Miyazaki story of overcoming his “failure of a game” in demon souls is truly a reflection of the design of his oppressing games…the games will beat u down until you feel defeated and if you stick it out and push through…you get a rewarding feeling after defeating a tough boss…he used this game as a message to himself and to players to never give up no matter how tough your goals may seem to be reached…if you continue to grind you will eventually reap the rewards! He’s a true Legend!
I LOVE this game, and while I can think of more polished and consistent games out there, there’s something about Dark Souls that 100% makes it deserve Best Game of All Time. Maybe this rawness is part of its brilliance. It feels dangerous, uncaring, sometimes broken… but it all adds to the sense of adventure it instills upon players. We will definitely continue looking back and studying this game for decades to come.
Having a person use their imagination to come up with there way they understand a story is amazing! How fromsoftware tells a story in my opinion is the best in video games. I personally love how they let the items, background, weapons and bosses tell u a story is amazing.
Great video, I love learning more about dark souls! Looking forward to the next ones! As a side note, I didn't see Miyazaki comment as a hint to a different director for Dark Souls, unless he was tremendously subtle about it; but maybe he did already have Bloodborne in mind and let out a tiny hint about it...
Miyazaki's game was an inspiration and an art which was enthralling, beautiful and unique. Yet, he goes to apologize so many times regarding what he regrets about the development of this game. Truly inspiring to see humility coming from a visionary. Incredible video and break down, it's a documentary to my all time favourite game. Thank you!
Very intriguing and well put together video in which I learned a lot of things I didn't know, but I would've noped hard out of the game had they had that original idea of the Centipede Demon being the boss in place of the Bell Gargoyles, a first ever playthrough of the "Souls" game is terrifying enough thank you. XD
Incredible documentary, GG! I love Dark Souls, it holds a very special place in my heart ❤ Even though I'd tried the DS2 & DS3 & given up, Dark Souls was the first one I finished, sobbing like a baby at the end. That was in 2019, & since then I've played the Dark Souls trilogy and Bloodborne multiple times each. Elden Ring may have the best combat mechanics, but nothing will top the inherent warmth and comfort that Dark Souls wraps around you. Miyazaki-San is a genius.
I think for the next video, you should involve more staff members (like supervisors, designers etc.). Even though Miyazaki is the main director (and later co-director), his pov isn't really the only thing that defines the videogame. Just a feedback, liking the content a lot anyway.
Today, I came across One of The BEST VIDEO I have Ever seen on UA-cam. Honestly, Thank You for making this..🙏 I am big time FromSoft/SoulsBorne Nerd, have a huge respect for Miyazaki and today it got amplified to an infinite level. 🙌
FromSoft are the only game developers that I genuinely care about and constantly look forward to their next project. They are so consistent with their ability to innovate and try new things with their already refined action/RPG formula, and it always feels like you are immersing yourself in a genuine piece of art rather than simply a video game.

Thanks for the kind feedback! Much appreciated! :)
I'm not the only one who watches these while playing soulslikes right ? It just sets the mood nicely
You're not alone 🙌🏿. This is relaxing to listen to while playing any of fromsoft games. ❤
Thanks for sharing such insightful message! I agree with you! Among all Souls game, it feels the most "authentic" as a true adventure.
Having a person use their imagination to come up with there way they understand a story is amazing! How fromsoftware tells a story in my opinion is the best in video games. I personally love how they let the items, background, weapons and bosses tell u a story is amazing.
Agreed! Thanks for sharing! :) And no 30 minute-long cutscenes!
Excellent documentary I hope you get much more reviews so that you can grow as a channel and create even more content related to the series.
Thanks for the kind feedback! Much appreciated! :)
Love all you guys ❤ so happy there’s people who share the love and appreciation i have for these games and the games Miyazaki has blessed us with
Thank you! One of my goals in this channel is to build a strong and active community around the Souls games :) Cheers!
I love how you can hear Keza’s voice breaking. You can hear the passion.
Agreed! :)
ive been waiting, thank you for continuing !!!
Thanks for the support! Cheers! :)
This is a well documented video on the game's history. I've never touched the game but I like learning about it through stuff like this
Thanks for the feedback! :)
Haha...we'll see in the future videos :)
Amazing video! Mad props for making this.
Much appreciated! Thank you! :)
I see Dark Souls video, I see length over 30 minutes. I click watch. Great video
Glad you enjoy it!
i have been waiting for this video! I love it, keep up the great work

Awesome content, looking forward to the next one! Dark Souls changed the gaming industry forever.
Thank you! Cheers! :)
Dude, what a vídeo. Congrats, really. Brought so much Joy. Subscribed, keep on It your work is astonishing!
Thanks for the kind feedback! Cheers! :)
Thank you!
Thanks for the kind feedback! Much appreciated! :)
Incredible work, thank you!
Glad you liked it! Much appreciated! :)
You deserve so fucking much more man! Blessings my beloved.
Thanks for the kind feedback! Cheers! :)
Wonderfully made, thank you for this!
Thanks for the kind feedback! Cheers! :)
I think through out all the sousls series hidetaka's mind set was simply "Challenge Breeds Excellence".
Yeah! :) I just have a weird wish... like him doing a One Piece game or a Diablo game...
@@dondonrv diablo sounds interesting, I would like to see them do a torn based RPG like the Final Fantasy series.
This is such a great content! Thank you! Can't wait for Dark souls 3 part
My pleasure! Thank you! :)
XD
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks! :)
I really liked these videos. It's like the lore behind the lore
Thanks for the kind feedback! Much appreciated! :)
Incredible documentary, GG!
I love Dark Souls, it holds a very special place in my heart ❤
Even though I'd tried the DS2 & DS3 & given up, Dark Souls was the first one I finished, sobbing like a baby at the end.
That was in 2019, & since then I've played the Dark Souls trilogy and Bloodborne multiple times each. Elden Ring may have the best combat mechanics, but nothing will top the inherent warmth and comfort that Dark Souls wraps around you.
Miyazaki-San is a genius.
Thanks for the kind feedback! Much appreciated! :)
@@dondonrv No problem! You also have a new subscriber \[T]/
Love these videos, keep going.
Thanks for the feedback! :)
Excellent video man. Really enjoyed this.
Thanks for the kind feedback! Cheers! :)
Miyazaki truly is a genius at directing and handling projects and creating games
Agreed! We're fortunate he is also the president of FromSoftware, and not under the whim of management.
Subbed and liked you did a great presentation and it just gives me way more appreciation for Mr. Miyazaki and his team
I think for the next video, you should involve more staff members (like supervisors, designers etc.). Even though Miyazaki is the main director (and later co-director), his pov isn't really the only thing that defines the videogame. Just a feedback, liking the content a lot anyway.
Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated!
Today, I came across One of The BEST VIDEO I have Ever seen on UA-cam. Honestly, Thank You for making this..🙏
I am big time FromSoft/SoulsBorne Nerd, have a huge respect for Miyazaki and today it got amplified to an infinite level. 🙌
Thanks for the kind feedback! Much appreciated! :)
FromSoft are the only game developers that I genuinely care about and constantly look forward to their next project. They are so consistent with their ability to innovate and try new things with their already refined action/RPG formula, and it always feels like you are immersing yourself in a genuine piece of art rather than simply a video game.
Agreed! Especially with Dark Souls, it does not feel like a game.
