    You said the standby (no load) current was less then 10mA yet your supply meter was showing 100mA, which is a pretty poor standby current.

    In circuit diagram there is no zener diode symbol but in the showed circuit there is a zener diode.why?

    Nice project!! Can you try to change The bipolar transistor with a z44n mosfet? I think that It Will reduce The Power losses. Sorry For my ugly English.

    thanks GOD bless you... just ask about c1,c2 = 680uf but on schematic c1 is 680p and c2,c3 on output is 680uf >>> there is different btween write and name on schematic and you using only one capacitor on output project ... have ask about value for all capacitor ... thank you again

    How does one must count the pins of this IC for the DIP8 case - looking it from its upside,as for other ICs,or from its downside?

    That's a great piece of work, thanks! What about putting a darlington transistor? Could it increase the efficiency?

    • @nunosousa2942
      @nunosousa2942 6 років тому

      not tho mutch, the problem here is that is a BJT and not a MOSFET but i think the the lack of efficiency is not caused by the transistor that much

    • @neagoecatalin879
      @neagoecatalin879 6 років тому

      @@nunosousa2942, thanks for the quick answer :). My mind says the same, since it's being driven by just 3+ volts, it's difficult to put a mosfet, even a logic triggered one. I am wondering if maybe a darlington configuration of BJTs could improve a bit the efficiency? For example, one of my solar controllers is using step up converter with an efficiency of 74%. Indeed, that one uses mosfet for switching. Compliments for your great work!

    • @nunosousa2942
      @nunosousa2942 6 років тому

      sorry for the misunderstanding. In the fact i think there is mosfets with very low threshold voltage like 2v or so, but answering to your question, a darlington with is high current gain will just decrease the current sent out by the chip to the BJT and this may improve the efficiency but a very tiny bit due to less losses by joule effect in the chip

    • @neagoecatalin879
      @neagoecatalin879 6 років тому +1

      You're right, in fact the BJTs in the chip they are connected in darlington configuration and they are putting your around one amp safely. So the current for driving the power BJT is enough. You opened my eyes with the 2 volts mosfet, I didn't knew that exist. Again, thank you!

    Hello , I am watching you close and I must say that this is a good Bulk Converter , One question though .... you have a diode probably a Zener somewhere in your circuit which do not show in your diagram ...can you try to elaborate us of it's absence !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I watch all your videos , I would like to correct the use of the word Throttle, the English word used in electronics is Choke.

    • @superdau
      @superdau 6 років тому

      Better call it "inductor". The name "choke" is usually associated with it being a filtering component to block noise/high frequencies, not to store energy in a boost circuit.

    Why wouldn't a ferrite core work? How do you tell them apart from Iron core?
    Your explanations are shallow.

    • @station240
      @station240 6 років тому

      Ferrite core would work, but likely change the number of turns of wire needed.
      Short answer, they didn't do enough testing.

    • @Basement-Science
      @Basement-Science 6 років тому +1

      You may also run into problems with Magnetic Saturation when using ferrite. So the required ferrite core may be bigger than the required iron powder core.
      Iron powder cores often have a yellow paint on them. Other than that it´s hard to tell them apart.
