  • Shells and sea life grow and erode in interesting ways under the forces of the ocean. This makes them a fantastic macro subject. Get up close to explore the intricate details and textures found on the surfaces of shells!
In this photography tutorial, we're shooting shells using both conventional lighting and coloured light. We wanted to get back to the basics of the Adaptalux Studio System and have fun adding some colours into our seashells to make them even more eyecatching!

'Back to basics' is great as it's a nice launching off point for exploring new ideas - through experimentation.

It's an old manual 50mm, anything with a manual aperture ring should work nicely!
