- With all the rain we've been getting this year, the plants that have been waiting in the ground are coming to life. it has been an amazing experience living out here in the desert. I've learned so much about myself and how to live in nature.
If the camera won't focus on something small, you can try putting your hand behind the object. Interesting plants for sure.
Thanks for the advice, I just tried it, and my mind is blown. Thank you. In the next video, i will definitely do that.
Love El Paso .....just had your vid pop up .....keep the content coming .....love it!

Nice bro keep ‘em coming. Can’t wait to see the finished product
I'm a long way from that
Glad to see you and the family still thriving bro 💪🏾
Yea, trying, this summer hasn't been that bad. Last year, the heat was worse.
With the smaller yucca, they do better in pots until they are bigger, then put them into the ground.
Thanks for the tip but I didn't plant this one. It just popped up after a thunderstorm
@southwestoffgrid awesome, let it grow then. Also, you can use rock as a ground cover around your plants to help keep moisture in the ground.
I think you can eat the flowers of the ocottillo
Im not sure about eating the flower, but I've definitely had the tea before and it was pretty good
@@southwestoffgrid Awesome 👍
If you are able to mulch your plants you would likely increase the survival rate by 25-75%
They would also grow faster
Maybe by a little maybe by alot
The most important thing to do in a desert
Is to conserve water for the plant to absorb
Definitely. Thanks for the advice
How far east are you from El Paso? 😁
I'm close to the horizon area but still within el paso limits
so are there no building restrictions in the area for people wanting to live off grid? we're looking for property to build on to be off grid as well.
The property I purchased had no zoning restrictions on it. You just have to do your research, and when you find a property, call the county and ask a ton of questions to make sure you can live off grid
Will you ever live in big city ?
I would consider it if I can still live a self sustainable lifestyle. Tbh, my goal isn't to separate myself from society but to have more control over the resources i use and the cost of using those resources. I've seen some pretty cool videos of people who live off grid and grow food in cities.
I lived in Houston then moved back to the midwest...Will have to check your other vids, Just subbed, hope you get lots of viwers, interesting info on the plants.🌵🏜️
The midwest? I don't think I've been to that part of the country. I lived almost everywhere else lol
