This costume should've won an award! After having read the book, when she first came on the scene, I had imagined her much taller and more imposing, but if you think about it, they say humans were shorter in ancient times, so it kinda makes sense. Such a shame it was also her last role, if I remember correctly. She was born to play Akasha in this movie
I usually watch this movie just for Aaliyah's performance. This is one of my favorite vampire scenes of all time. Now that im older, as a Gen Xer looking back, this clubbing scene was metaphorical for everyone who thought they were an evil badass, but when ancient, more powerful evil shows up to the party they go up in smoke. This part of the story and movie feels very relevant to now.

When she began seducing that stranger with her sensual gaze and body movement inviting for him to come, I held my breath. Nirrini, I know this is 2 yrs late. Lol. I would’ve left, if I sensed her ancient power. They shouldn’t have been so stubborn about an ancient, entering their bar. Ignorant vampires. Lol
Aaliyah absolutely killed this role! She made a phenomenal vampire queen. Best female vampire in movie history by far. Just imagine this redone with today's modern CGI, cinematography, and big budget production. If she was still here, it would have been EPIC.
Akasha gave me chills down my spine..that's how badass Aaliyah was in this movie. She was so talented at everything :( I also remember getting hyped up buying the soundtrack after watching the movie. Such good music all through the movie (korn, deftones, papa roach, static-x)!
***** She only loves Lestat. That is why she woke up after 6000 years, because he plays the violin. In fact, his playing woke her up! Sorry, but you wouldn't stand a chance. LOL
she wanted Korn on her last album but most likely her label (Blackground not Virgin Records) put a stop to that idea. it would have fit perfectly with that album and the darker and edgier theme it had.
Pity she died not too long after making the movie she did absolutely do that role completely justice. No one else could of done it better if they tried.

Okay these vampires are not the brightest huh?? I mean... As soon as she walked in they knew something was up with her, she was NOT like them in any way shape or form, then take her clothes in account, then topped off with a CROWN. Then, and most importantly... for me... was.. HER VOICE!!! Like, did ol' boy not hear how she was talking?? If I'm standing next to them at the bar, as he trying to holla... and I hear that...I'm out... Tell Jason Imma be at the car, I didn't wanna come here anyway! Jason just had to say some F'ed up shyt and got y'all all murked...

Nirrini,
I know this is 2 yrs late. Lol. I would’ve left, if I sensed her ancient power.
They shouldn’t have been so stubborn about an ancient, entering their bar. Ignorant vampires. Lol
You should be a writer. So descriptive.
If you read the book it gets better

Long Live Aaliyah, she was a perfect and beautiful woman.
Aaliyah absolutely killed this role! She made a phenomenal vampire queen. Best female vampire in movie history by far. Just imagine this redone with today's modern CGI, cinematography, and big budget production. If she was still here, it would have been EPIC.
that'd be so cool! They should do that. Wish they did The Vampire Lestat in 2015 and just cgi Aaliyah in it and stuff.
Omg Mary j Blige bout to slay new queen vampire role
I think we all if not most can agree this is one of the best scenes of this movie if not the best
kazeshini I agree fully
It's one of the best vampire scenes ever actually. Definitely top 10.
Because she's protecting Lestat, the vampire rockstar she's been crushing on for two centuries.
kazeshini yeah she made those female vampires look like lambs about to be roasted Lol 😂
kazeshini the best scene
she was so beautiful
Akasha gave me chills down my spine..that's how badass Aaliyah was in this movie. She was so talented at everything :( I also remember getting hyped up buying the soundtrack after watching the movie. Such good music all through the movie (korn, deftones, papa roach, static-x)!
Her body movements and heavy metal is just perfect
Akasha is 6000 thousand years old. Don`t mess around with her.
lol
id knock the dust of that pussssy
***** well she would still kill you lol
***** lol ohh
***** She only loves Lestat. That is why she woke up after 6000 years, because he plays the violin. In fact, his playing woke her up! Sorry, but you wouldn't stand a chance. LOL
Korn and Aaliyah= Genius
she wanted Korn on her last album but most likely her label (Blackground not Virgin Records) put a stop to that idea. it would have fit perfectly with that album and the darker and edgier theme it had.
Honestly if Aaliyah was still with us we probably would have heard that pairing.
Aaliyah tore this role up! She made Akasha iconic af!❤❤ Rip Baby Girl 🕊️
“Really? Is that what you’re going to do?” He didn’t realize in that moment he sentenced the entire bar to death. Lol
this woman is the most beautiful woman i ever seen
GreifeLuft yes indeed.
Have you seen the singer Vanity in the 1980s?
Girl he said what he said 🙄
Pity she died not too long after making the movie she did absolutely do that role completely justice. No one else could of done it better if they tried.
Your standards must be low as fuck.
the smile she flashed at 3:26..too cute
and that walk at the end
Bro I didn't even notice that
So many feelings expressed there
Now, that's what you call a spectaculair effective way to remove the trash out of your club!😝
My favorite scene of this movie. "Really. Is that what you're going to do? " She was bad ass in this movie.
her teeth are perfect
Yeah, nice and sharp.
That walk tho she nailed it lol
I know right? lol. She was amazing.
LaCandace ThaDiva nail her
LaCandace ThaDiva left eye shut

She KILLED it!!!!!! Will always be the scene that makes her a budding MOVIE STAR!!!! What could have been....
As soon as I, as a vampire couldn’t track this unknown vampire’s movements; I’d have been OUT! 🤣
aaliya was so perfect for this role! everything-- her expressions, her movement-- was so on point!!!
goldfish1871 Aaliyah*
3:00 favorite part the way she turned her head to look at home girl with the knife like "really bitch " and flicked that wrist like " Mmmm ok talk to the hand " and then turned around to the other 2 like "bitch ya still here..ok..dismissed "...loved it!!!
the look you get when you see beetle-boy the original 'flick of the wrist' 😂
the look you get when you see beetle-boy lmbo right😂
Okay these vampires are not the brightest huh??
I remember watching this movie in theaters and everyone was cheering at the end of this scene! Aaliyah was an amazing artist and actress! I still love her so much!
This still gives me goosebumps, even after all of these years!
R.I.P. Aaliyah

@@EdwardCapone-il1wd exactly. I would rather be with the undead than a fool
Nah she has a maker mather means cause mother cause and prototype.Akasha should have been made by Lilith or witch Margret. More of daughter'- mother peogenenator. To read that makes it worse that she died , and we're still waiting for Story of the new queen.

keke2200 Is that you Keke Palmer?
Best scene in the movie. She’s very serpent like in her movements, almost like a cobra sizing up her prey.
She deserved more screentime
