I have a border collie and it’s fine if you don’t have a backyard you just need time to take them out on walks since they have a lot of energy, I’ve found that throwing a ball is the fastest way to tire them out, usually only takes about 30 minutes of constant ball throwing to tire them out

same here, ive had her for a year now but either way i like the way she is, an energetic and playful dog is what i was searching for, as well as a intellegent one, and a distant relative of mine had multiple puppies, so i got one for free for myself and my family.
haha, yeah. training like this helps a lot because it stimulates their mind, but they still get super energetic. about at 1.5 - 2 years she should calm down significantly while still being obviously happy and healthy. just a collie puppy thing :)
Got our boy home yesterday he's 9 weeks and couldn't believe it he knows sit,lie down and paw and is letting us know when he wants out to garden for poo pee not so much but he is using pads. Our labrador was 12 weeks before he knew sit knew they were smart but it's amazing how quickly they learn new words. 😊
They usually are super easy. If there has been previous pet stains, it could be why. Try using food as a reward. Cheese, sausage, bacon, etc (Keep him away from store products. China crap will kill him) If you are having trouble, look up some tips on potty training on the web. Much success!

Yeah he has settled in so well the routine I have him in is potty at 8pm he then sleeps till 10pm back out then he's sleeps till around 2ish then that's him until half 6ish.

My bc thought she had to check on all of our neighbors and their animals every morning and when they had bbqs. 😂 They called her Molley the Moocher. 🤣 Your bc will want be on the same schedule for his whole life and will remember yours. If you are good to him, he will let you sleep in on a few Sundays. My girl could literally tell time to the minute. Have fun with that. I promised her I would take her out every day to play frisbee and I did my best. I regret letting her do it as much as I did after the arthritis but glucosamine saved the day. Keep a bottle ready for him in 12 years or so. Where did you get him?

We had a retriever he would not fetch no matter what so my son loves that he plays fetch just won't bring it back yet lol. We got him through a friend he came from a farm just outside edingburgh. Our lab retriever sadly died and we just felt house was too empty so took up offer visit this little one and we fell in love he came out wagging his tail and giving us kisses so we took him home that day and he fits in perfectly. 😀😆
an absolute little dolly border collies are the best doggies on the planet I ought to know I am on my fourth, they are so smart, that is a little looker, and I am sure that when all grown up is absolutely beautiful
Border collies are so stinking smart. I swear i didn't even have to teach mine, sit or down. He just knew! And he was potty trained so quickly! Took about two days!
We rescued one at 6 weeks. She was hit by a car yesterday. Knew all kinds of tricks. Only 1.5 years old. She was loved and will be missed. RIP Kyla girl
I am so sorry for your loss. We lost our 13 year old Border Collie 8 months ago. I still miss him terribly. I wake up in the night and reach to trap on the wall. He would always come to see me with that tail wagging. 😢
Aww i have a collie pup called Ollie ❤❤ I think they are probably the cutest pups Im currently training mine to be very obedient as its unfair when dogs are out of control! I love hiking 25+ miles but as Ollie is a puppy we've started at 1 - 2 miles and he already has excellent recall and obedience Very intelligent!! Love from Yorkshire
More than just cute fluffs of fur, they are the smartest breed by far. They need plenty of exercise and a job to do or they will think something up for themselves.
I used to have a Border Collie. She learned her commands in 2 languages and also by gesture. We also had many structured games, and she knew so much of her daily routine that I often didn't have to give commands (like waiting right inside the door to have her paws wiped, then holding each one out for me). If I get a dog again, it will be a Border Collie.
Tomorrow a beautiful female border Callie will be at home to be part of our large family along with six cats and one samoyedo, I hope be able to educate her as well as the dog on this video 💜

i love the look of border collies but the character, the energy and the fixation towards every stimulus is something i dont wanna have again. our was a very sensetive one towards everything, from moving cars, to noises and everything that she wasnt used to, made her a stressball that wouldnt stop beeing stress out until it stopped. watch a horror movie and be startled by a jumpscare? prepare that the dog is now frightend the whole night because i had a reaction towards a movie and have diarhea 3x that night. my wife and i handled stuff like this very differently because she wanted the dog to have the best live ever and be euqal to a human beeing, so she allowed everything and demanded everything to stop, that the dog might not like, while i was the person saying the dog has to live with certain things and get used to them
i remember when my uncle got a border collie puppy as a farm dog to help herd sheep and cattle and he ended up letting me name him luke cause...well...i was a kid and star wars episode 6 just came out. They're such great dogs both on and off the job
