    So excited to see Marcelo playing a Firebird for worship- I thought I was the only worship leader who used one in church... 😇👍

    I hold a monthly worship night at my church. I usually get a good crowd (the church is very small about 40 people, about half attend the worship night) The most recent though only around 8 people showed up. But we had an amazing night of worship.

    LoL @ Let the Holy Spirit lead...My pastor said to the board (on the topic of stage presence/making a speech)..."Dont wait until the day then pray back stage for the Holy Spirit to lead you on stage, Work on it from now to then!"

    Thanks so much for this GREAT information! Makes me want to help plan another night for our small church and getting a couple of other churches involved. We did one 2 years ago and had 2 other churches from our community involved, it was great.

    We did what we called a Festival of Praise at our church about 6 months ago. We invited 3 other groups to come and share. We did sell tickets with all money going to charities that each group selected. Our church was the biggest of the four but we have about 500 members give or take. It was a great night enjoyed by all. This was the 3rd time for a similar type of night.

    Good stuff. Good ideas. We did a worship night in February. Have one coming up in June. We structure ours with communion and baptisms alongside worship. About 4 songs up front and another 4 songs in the back with baptisms happening at the same time as the second set. It’s powerful. We don’t do a long drawn out rehearsal tho. I think it depends on your team and the level of their musicianship. Certainly since y’all did some recording (?) that’s different. We come in and just run through the ins and outs. Figure out transitions, what instrument is covering the in between, any worship leader moments, etc. but at the end of the day, we move through the set in a fluid manner. We might play though a song halfway and then cut the tracks and break it down and build it back up live (meaning without the tracks). We have the instruments to cover that. I’ll usually have a couple songs that aren’t “planned” but that we “might” move into as a tag if the moment feels right. Again I think it depends on the level of your team and the strength of your MD to lead through spontaneous moments. This is just what works for us. Seems like y’all have a great team. Love following your ministry.

    My (traditional) church has an early contemporary service at 8:30am..(that's our time slot because of 'logistical reasons'). But honestly the numbers are not that bad for an early service. But we're not getting the (intended) younger audience numbers (duh). I've been talking with my pastor about doing a Sunday night service, maybe just through the summer. I loved the ideas presented in this video (except the 5 hr practice... uhg). Love you guys!

    Brian, (or Fuller) have you ever organized a community night of worship where other churches join together with yours for a community wide night of worship? I have a vision for this and want some input from anyone who has done this. Thanks!

    • @worshiptutorials
      @worshiptutorials  5 років тому

      I (Brian) have done something like this. It was more of a Christian artist showcase with worship involved, so not as much like networking with churches. It took a lot of planning and tons of logistical work. Overall it was a pretty cool event.

    Thanks for this video guys, really confirms what I've been thinking about doing for awhile. Our church has a covered pavillion and I'm thinking of doing a housefires-ish setup in the round. Projection might be an issue, would you recommend printing condensed lyric sheets or find a way to get a projector hooked up?
    Definitely good advice to include other people in planning and I'll probably schedule it for July or August now.

      Finn, find someone who is highly administrative first asked them to help you and then let them tell you all of the things they should be doing :) lol That’s the whole point with administrative people. They will see things that they need to do that you don’t even see. Thank God for them

    Brian and Fuller, I have done a few of these worship nights (5th Friday worship nights) in a couple different churches. That being said we've always had a hard time drawing in people from outside the church. I am hoping to get a worship night planned for this summer and doing it outside. How do you suggest getting the word out to the community? we've tried flyers and social media so far.

    Quick question. My church is about 140 people in size. As far as the band goes, there’s 19 of us. We are beyond blessed with musicians at a church of our size.
    Now to the question. The myself and the rest of the teenagers would love to put on a night of worship for the whole church, but as far as vocalist go, there’s only myself and one other girl who is extremely comfortable and talented. I am not as comfortable and don’t lead in church.
    We are trying to keep the band made up of youth as much as possible. But we are missing a bass player.
    Is this something that we should be considering realistically? Or should we do a night of worship with our normal band members of all ages, and cover all instruments and positions? Would love you hear your thoughts, thank you so much!

    • @markcummings2344
      @markcummings2344 5 років тому

      That sounds like a great idea and congrats to you all for wanting to do it. I believe that for unity and maximum effectiveness, it would be best to have the band be open to all the musicians (or at least for any positions that need to be filled), not just a certain demographic age set of them, especially for something that is including the whole church anyway. The early church in Acts indicates that ALL believers had ALL things in common, it doesn't say the youth did their own thing and the seniors did their own thing, etc.

    • @worshiptutorials
      @worshiptutorials  5 років тому

      Thanks! The section of the video that showed the actual event pretty much had the entire set list in it - I think there was only one song at the end that I didn't include. I know that the team all picked the songs collectively. I'm not sure what you mean by not getting into arguments, ha. They just collectively came together with an order - is that something that usually causes fights in your church?

    • @domvillarreal01
      @domvillarreal01 5 років тому

      Worship Tutorials not necessarily fights just a saying what if we get into arguments

    • @worshiptutorials
      @worshiptutorials  5 років тому

      Ha 'fights' was probably the wrong word to use on my part, haha. Fuller and I actually talked at the end of the video about how involving more people into the planning process makes it a better event overall. But it's easier just to plan the whole thing by yourself (if you're the worship leader).

    About the number of people showing up: We had a date once a month where all the student bible study groups would gather and learn about God. On one of these occasions we decided to do a worship evening. Usually we were somewhat around 20-30 people, but on that day, beside from the three musicians and my own bible study group which organized the evening, only one other person came about 10 minutes late. We were already thinking about leaving when she said she would really appriciate if she could praise God with us.
    What can I say, I think it was one of the best worship times we ever had with just 8 people attending!
    p.s.: I just read Lee Silcox comment, sorry for copying :D

    I would like to create a Worship Experience team at my church where we bring some discussion topics to focus on (weekly, monthly, quarterly, not sure yet) to help grow our worship team and the experience itself. What topics would you and Fuller recomend? I just feel like our church's worship needs that "little something extra" to push it into that next level of growth.

      This would be a great opportunity to develop core values for your team and then spend time expanding on them.
      For example, the core values of our team (which you can totally steal) are Community, Ownership, Excellence, and Reverence. Each of these are important to us as a church and worship ministry, and you could spend an evening talking about each of them.
