    I started using PCO Services at the beginning of the year. The price was daunting at first, but now I don't know how I ever operated without it. It's absolutely amazing and makes my job so much easier. Loved the video. Thank you for these videos each week!

    First of all, thank you for doing what you do on this channel. I've learned a lot from worship leader wednesdays. My church use to do mid week rehearsals, when our worship team was new. We had a rehearsal two hours before service on sunday, in addition to Wednesday night rehearsal. We started only doing Sunday morning rehearsals but we went to two services and dont have the time. We are going back to a mid week rehearsal.

    Thank you so much for sharing with us. I’ve been frustrated for the very reason, that for a time, we weren’t having midweek practices. But with a change in leadership we are back at it and God has been good to bless our efforts!

    Also I have to add... I came across your UA-cam channel in a season of my ministry where I was asking God for direction.
    There were many challenges that I was facing with many of our team members.
    And WOW! After seeing and following yalls videos... I can’t believe how much I have yet to learn..
    I felt so humbled before the eyes of God and all I could do and say was “Lord forgive me for not giving you the best that I could be, I quickly realized that I was failing as a leader and miserably. Boy have my eyes been open.
    Your videos have challenged and encouraged me to want to give more and give God what he solely deserves.. nothing more than my best... I I am now going to cast a new vision for our team. I’m going to trust in then Lord and in the process see what God has for us all.
    I am eternally grateful for these videos .
    I don’t know you personally but I feel that I’ve known y’all forever.
    That’s how the body of God works.
    Blessing to you both.
    Thanks BRIAN & BRIAN
    May God continue to grow you both in his word, in wisdom and in your ministry.
    Blessings

    We have rehearsals every Thursday before Sunday (unless on the rare occasion something comes up and most folks can't make it) and we have rehearsal an hour and half before service. Many times Thursdays are a great worship in of themselves. However, there other times that Thursday is a train wreck, which usually signifies Sunday is going to be flawless and wonderful.
    I couldn't imagine not getting together the week prior on a regular basis.

    Man I would love to be able to just sit around in a circle,Play what you can and enjoy the fellowship more than anything.Be a great thing to learn and hone a few skills with out messing things up for others.I have no expectations of performing in front of people,I don't have that confidence that maybe I could be a blessing.But then again,God opens doors sometimes if you put your heart into something.I don't know what key you are in but this talk was like music to my ears.

    I know our practice on Thursday night's is normally a train wreck, and we meet 1.5hrs before service on Sunday and everyone does better. I would not give up mid-week practice for almost any reason! Great video guys....oh yeah, those Facebook Groups are fun!

    • @spsanders69
      @spsanders69 6 років тому

      Funny, we have the same formula and I used the same wording on some Thursdays that are a disaster. The following Sunday is usually an amazing morning. It is so amazing how things can change within 3 days.

    • @tonymesser6988
      @tonymesser6988 6 років тому

      SS Sandman it truly is amazing. I think that mid-week practice helps highlight, for me, where I need to practice! It helps me understand what area I need to work on. It is crucial. Practice by yourself is always important, but one would be insane not to take advantage to get the whole group together at practice.

    Rehearse at rehearsal. Don't practice at rehearsal- that wastes people's time. Learn your parts and practice at home, and then apply your efforts at rehearsal. Ideally then, the songs at rehearsal will sound nearly identical to what it will sound like during service.

    Out of curiosity, when would you transition from one team with subs to two complete teams? Right now we've got 3 keyboard players, 3 drummers, 1 bassist, 1 electric guitar, 2 acoustic guitars, 2 female singers, 1 male singer, 1 sound man, and 1 utility guy who fills in on guitar, bass, or sound. I'm pushing back a bit on moving to two teams because I'm worried about losing the community that we've built. What are your thoughts?

    Hi thank you for taking time and do this video….. I have a question.? How you can do rehearsals if you have 3 service in Sunday + 3 service in the week with 2 pianists that also play bass, one Sax, one flute and 3 drummers. All are volunteers.

    Is there ever a time where your team as a whole gets together? Since your given Sunday team is only rehearsing once a month, do you find it difficult introducing new songs?

  • @lonestarthundergamer

    How do you address some of the issues addressed here if you’re new to the worship team?

    • @dkerwood1
      @dkerwood1 6 років тому

      I'd say it depends on your relationship with the worship director. If they don't really know you yet, you just put up with whatever they're doing until you've built those relationships to the point where you can say, "Have you tried..." without sounding like an insufferable know-it-all.

    Worship Leader Wednesday: Our worship group leads every Sunday in a 4 song program with announcements after the 3rd song. I always question if I should keep them standing throughout the whole program or sit them down after the 2nd song. We have a few older congregants. What would you advise?

    • @worshiptutorials
      @worshiptutorials  6 років тому

      We typically do a similar order, and we always have people seated during announcements.

    How do you maintain unity with in your entire Worship Team with 4 teams? I have been a part of a worship team at several churches. Every time we grow and have enough people to have teams it ends up being an “us” and “them” between teams. How do you maintain unity between teams with in your entire worship team ministry. The battle is against division, but by creating teams we are intentionally creating division to simplify planning. And teams are definitely easier to plan than a rotation. What are your thoughts?

    • @brianmichaelfuller
      @brianmichaelfuller 6 років тому

      We are VERY INTENTIONAL with creating opportunities to build community. At rehearsals, we cast a ton of vision for unity and we share stories of how God is using all our teams every week to change lives. We use names and specifics! Our common thread and bond then becomes what God is doing through and in us and NOT what we are doing as individuals. Also, create events and nights that everyone can get together. Also, every 12 months we change are teams and put people on different teams than they served the year before.All these little things help. But it takes a lot of work and effort and constant vision casting!

    “Make rehearsals great again!” Lol jk Great content guys!! What are your thoughts on rehearsing vocalists and instrumentalists separately during the week followed by a run through all together before Sunday morning worship services? In your opinion and experience, is this something that would be both beneficial and sustainable for a team?

    • @brianmichaelfuller
      @brianmichaelfuller 6 років тому +1

      Brandon Rose we now spend the first hour of rehearsal with band and vocals separate and we come together for run through!! It helps a lot!!! You just need to appoint the right person to lead the grouo

    How do I engage an audience that is disinterested, in the context of youth group worship or at chapel for high school?

    • @brianmichaelfuller
      @brianmichaelfuller 6 років тому

      andrew, this is a common problem and one that is deep and wide. Certainly cannot be covered in one comment. But I will say this, the single best way to get people engaged, is to get to know them!!! Make sure as a worship team, that you are hanging out with the people you are leading. Build a relationship with them and earn trust. That is the first step to engagement. Also, stop referring to them as an audience:) lol

    Excellence is often misunderstood as being stuffy, rigid, and excessive. I dislike that attitude because it leaves room for laziness and complacency. Excellence should drive stewardship.

    • @christianboddum8783
      @christianboddum8783 4 роки тому

      I'd say there is a difference between exellence and perfectionism. Exellence is very much a mindset, an attitude and to some degree a talent. Perfectionism on the other hand is a tricky animal, because the setting (Worshipmusic) is not ideal for perfectionism, and will cause tensions. What is heard from the stage may be perfect to the listeners, but it is a lot decisions and compromises made to make the Worship a coherent expression. Exellence Yes - perfectionism NO :-) There must be room for the spirit through it all. FWIW

  • @zeke276
    @zeke276 6 років тому

    In my experience, the word rehearsal and practice have become synonymous. My personal opinion is that they are profoundly different. Do you find the vocabulary you use for instruction important and how do you communicate the difference?

    • @worshiptutorials
      @worshiptutorials  6 років тому +1

      We always say that rehearsal is not the time to learn the songs - and if you choose to do that, you waste everybody’s time. We say it with love, of course :)
      Once you begin to build a culture where people know that they are expected to come to rehearsal prepared, it starts to get really awkward for a person when they show up unprepared.

  • @joeargon9804
    @joeargon9804 6 років тому

    I gave up mid week rehearsal 3 years ago and it was the best decision I've ever made (right under accepting Jesus). I understand the community concept, but you can have other events to build community besides a mid week rehearsal. We are human beings and we forget things and we make mistakes. I did mid week rehearsals for years and ditched it, the teams show up ready and they know their parts. We've actually increased in quality. Have clear communication a week before we play, explain transitions, who is doing what, and life is way better!

    I don't agree with the 30 minutes of talking before practice. This is something I'm trying to get our worship team out of since they are wasting TOO much time talking and not enough time practicing.
