Excellent humor, pacing, research and topic. Even if this was for a school project, all this is incredibly promising work for a completely new channel. I've subscribed. As for the video, this was amazing, and captures so much of what I've always tried to put into words why true dedicated handhelds have been so significant and important, even as the world moves on or tries to act like completely different things like handheld PCs, emulator handhelds and the Switch are anything like these real handhelds.
Thank you so much! Some of us in the group are quite passionate about handhelds since they had such a unique form factor and had such a special place in our childhoods, so making a video about it just felt right. And I completely agree with you, handhelds truly were unique in the opportunities they provided developers and the experiences they could provide. A lot of people we spoke to about the topic would simply say that "Handhelds are not really viable anymore since everyone simply has a phone now which they can play on", but we believed they missed the point. Im happy more people share this opinion :)
Thank you :) we got quite a high grade for the video, so were very happy! But for the most part is was just really fun to put the video together and film all the dumb skits, so im surprised someone else actually liked the video as well hahaha
can't tell if this is sarcastic or not, sorry. they meant proper dedicated handhelds, not cloud streaming devices, handheld PCs, often illegal chinese emulator handhelds or even the Switch. did you watch the whole thing? this level of production and quality typically comes from those with millions more subs.
Hahaha I see your point, but I we believe it's moreso sad that big developers are not really bringing out handhelds anymore, for which they would produce dedicated games. Mobile gaming and portable PC's just aren't the same... But ofcourse we are super happy that people still value playing older games on handheld consoles such as the r36!
@@stephanvisser4738 Something yall might like if youve not seen it yet is the Playdate- its a new handheld with a monochrome screen and a crank to try get new creative games made
@@stephanvisser4738 In the offchance my attempt to say so earlier never went though- something that would probably be a good idea for everyone to look into a bit is the Playdate! Its a modern dedicated handheld console with a monochrome screen and a crank- while indi focused theyve also got officially approved and released games that you can buy in bulk (the console also comes with a few for "free") and theres already been a bunch of good stuff released for it officially and on Itch (bought new now theyre $200 though which kinda sucks)
The only bad feelings I had toward this essay whilst marking was trying to find something wrong with it. Great work guys (yet again)!
Damn, the algorithm led me here. Great piece. Good luck with your course!
