Right?! We had a doe that didn’t show any sign of udder development until she was about 3 weeks from kidding last year but we are about at that date and I haven’t seen a change yet and I know she comes from good milking lines! Hoping she’s just a late bloomer 🤞
I feel like she had a little udder bump starting. From the angle of the camera anyway. My first set of girls are at about the halfway point now. So exciting to watch their bellies grow!! The last couple of years were rough and I didn't get many kids so I'm really excited that so many are pregnant. ❤
My one doe that kidded this year didn't have a udder until right before she gave birth and really popped a udder after she gave birth to a single buckling. Her sister on the other hand her udder was really noticable at 3 almost 4 months and she had twins. Best of luck to you this kidding season. I hope all goes smoothly for you. I'm excited as I have a doe due in April. Both my girls were FF as well
I’m pretty sure our doe sugar didn’t have one until a week before she kidded last year but I can’t for the life of me remember 😅 If I can get everyone bred 7 out of our 12 does will be first fresheners definitely didn’t think that one through 🤦🏻♀️ I hope your doe due in April has a smooth delivery 💖
@fullmooncreamery my doe that is due had a very good birth back in March no issues. I actually almost missed the birth she went super fast she was going to deliver outside before I could get her in the barn 🤦♀️ so I'm hoping all goes smoothly for her once again. I'm still up in the air if I want to breed her sister this month or not or just wait until next year she had a hard birth with twins but bounced back good.
I just had 6 of my does with the buck we rented. I saw 3 done and the other 3 not. now I'm just hoping i missed the deed, the buck is rather expensive. I'm pondering doing ultrasounds next week to take a peek. do you know at what day can you see some bubbles to confirm pregnancy?
I can confirm about 40-45 days people can do it earlier depending on how good you are at it and the machine you have, also the size of the does comes into play as well. It’s much easier to see babies in Nigerians dwarfs than big girls! You can also send in blood tests or do at home blood tests at about 28-30 days
I eyeball them but do not recommend. you can use a measuring tape to get their weight! I use a hanging scale for any goat kids we have since I need accurate weights on them Eventually I’ll get some sort of animal scale!
Oof 22 days left and no udder! Fingers crossed. With ff we see udder bumps 2 months before kidding, she does have that little puffy bump though

I hope you have a wonderful kidding season! 💖
We use rubbing alcohol instead of ultrasound gel, and it works even better for us, you have to make sure you shave them before though
The only problem with rubbing alcohol is I’ve been told it can ruin the ultrasound probe quicker and the smell of it makes me so sick 🤮😂
i have 3 does due between Christmas and New Years too! one might go before then
That’s so exciting! Ours are due dec 23rd, Jan 9th and Jan 17th and then we have a short break until we start back up on March 27th

How do you weight your goats if you don’t mind me asking ! What kind of scale ! 😊
