I love this song. I won $75.00 second place in a Kiwanis Talent Contest playing this song. I practiced it over 1000 times. I am not kidding. - TAV ♥️🇺🇸🌎👍🎵
I give you all my respect I can not comprehend HOW,I love older music because everything that we have today is trash but I have been playing for more than 4 years and I am puzzled
Wahah brilliant recap of my progress after about 8 hours of practicing this at 16:56 . But then I've been playing piano for about 3 weeks now so I might have bitten off a bit more than I can chew ;p . Still, soldiering on, almost cracked part 2 and I get the feeling rest will just be more patterns and the biggest hurdles I am overcoming right now. Anyway, great tutorial, thanks!
I’ve been playing for 10 years and this took me 3 days a couple hours a day. And you don’t have to play it exactly. Learn the main octaves then add and improvise
It would be very nice if you could write with letters what the notes are above you hands, that would make it easier to see what you are playing :) nice tutorial!!
pretty please pretty please finish the maple leaf rag tutorial! :) I learned the first part but the next part is my favorite! Loved this one too though thank you very much.
Nice! I can already play this but I really like listening to it! But it's cool because I play it the exact same way as you, did you learn this by ear too?
Got this one down but can you PLEASE make a tutorial for the rest of the song? Or is there sheet music for the rest of the song you can link? Thank you so much have learned two songs through your tutorials they are truly so insanely helpful, can’t thank you enough.
No it just takes practice. I’ve played piano for 4 years and I had to play this song at a recital one time and now I’m coming back to learn it again and I still need to practice cause right now……….. let’s just say it’s a lil rough lol 😂
If you can't play the octaves just play the first note of the octaves and if you can do that play the first two notes of the octave. Eg:- In c octave with an e, play c or ce.
"not for beginners" is an understatement...i'm grade 5 and have been struggling with this piece and still haven't managed to master just the right and left hand separately despite hours of practice - looked it up and apparently it's grade 8 standard so don't be disheartened if you're also struggling to learn this one!
I just teach myself piano because I always wanted to play and never was interested in lessons or formal teaching, so I’m sorry if this question is stupid, but What do the grades mean?
I’ve been playing since I was 5, but I wasn’t really progressing over these 9 years, but this song really felt like I was progressing into the better songs.
This was actually on my keyboard, idk how but it has a thing we’re it already are has songs on it but I learned most of it on their 😂 I’m hoping to actually learn the whole thing 😽
7:18 this is where I left off. (Edit) I have finished as much as I could learn from this, and learned the B section as well, now I am starting C section.
100.000 Subs with absolutely no reason. I have been playing for years now and what I find that it helps doing one hand at a time and as soon as you know you have your left hands part down do your right hand. This doesn’t work for everyone but it might might help you.
How do you look at both hands at the same time? They're both playing pretty big shapes, pretty wide apart and jumping around. Where are your eyes looking?

I look for the left hand, because the right one is easier to memorize for me. Just try and look what you prefer
