Great event! The OG of route density has been teaching the lawn care community for years on how important it is to create profitable service areas. Learn to say "NO" more in 2024!

When you begin to establish a clientele in a new neighborhood, you might initially secure a single client. The challenge arises when you attempt to expand your reach, but other potential clients in the area are reluctant to enlist your services. Consequently, you find yourself traveling to this neighborhood for just one client, which is not ideal. What strategies would you employ to increase your client base beyond just one or two households, with the aim of establishing a stronger presence in a new neighborhood?

I learned that some neighborhoods are just not my ideal clients. I try to do all of the marketing strategies, lawn signs, for hangers/flyers, postcards, sponsor that neighborhood's community events, create special Facebook events for discounted specialty services like aeration or shrub trimming. But at the end of the day, if I only have 1 or 2 properties after making an effort for 1 season, I have to drop that neighborhood to protect my current route density.
