- Published in 1910, “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” was composed by Leo Friedman, with lyrics by Beth Slater Whitson. In 1911, it became a hit song for the Peerless Quartet. In addition to film and TV appearances, the popular song has been recorded by numerous performers, including Bing Crosby, The Mills Brothers, Patti Page, Fats Domino, Pat Boone, and Shirley Boone. The Peerless Quartet recording is preserved in the National Recording Registry for its “cultural, historic, or artistic significance.” This piano accompaniment for "Let Me Call You Sweetheart” is improvised by Charles Manning.
