Quando piove non la smette più! Ma la pioggia in Corea del Sud è un pò come da noi, almeno in estate: forti acquazzoni quasi tropicali da cui si esce scrollandosi ridendo l'impermeabile e, ovviamente, lasciando in hotel la bici per andare a vedere il Museum of Art e i colorati lavori degli artisti presentati nelle sue sale. Peccato però che siano quasi tutte chiuse e non è la prima volta che va a finire così. Pare quasi che nelle giornate di pioggia i sudcoreani non abbiano nient'altro da fare che rintanarsi nei famosi centri commerciali sotterranei: alcuni lussuosi, altri più simili ai tipici mercatini di strada asiatici. Lì trascorriamo le ultime ore a Seoul, prima di caricare tutto sulle bici e raggiungere la stazione ferroviaria da cui parte il treno ad alta velocità diretto a Busan. In poche ore rifaremo il percorso al contrario, però stavolta comodamente seduti, ripensando con orgoglio e un velo di nostalgia alle giornate trascorse sulla bici, fino all'arrivo a Busan. Ma questa città di porto ci piace anche al ritorno e percorrerla in bici di sera, tra i suoi grattacieli illuminati, è da brivido. Trovato l'albergo a downtown, resta ancora il tempo per una notturna partita a biliardo!
It won't stop raining! But the rain in South Korea is a bit like in Italy, at least in summer with many heavy, almost tropical downpours for which people just shake off their raincoats cheerfully. We have to leave our bike at the hotel and walk to the Museum of Art to see those colourful artworks on display. We regret that most of the museum rooms are closed: unfortunately this happens frequently. It also seems that on rainy days South Koreans have nothing to do but hole up in their popular underground shopping malls with their luxurious stores and small shops like at the typical Asian street markets. At the underground malls we spend our last hours in Seoul, then go back to the hotel, load our bikes, reach the Seoul KTX station and catch our high-speed train to Busan. In a few hours the train covers our bike route in reverse. While sitting comfortably we look back on our bike trip with pride and nostalgia. In the evening we get to Busan. We enjoy our way back by bike from the railway station to the downtown hotel with the illuminated skyscrapers and there is still time left for a night game of pool!
