The conversation quickly became what she “didn’t want /didn’t want to do” versus allowing her interests/hobbies/passions to lead the conversation.

Being single is not an affliction nor is it a sign of a character defect. Approaching someone like that is CRINGE AF. Single is just a marital status, that's why you only see that question on legal and medical forms. We gotta do better with attaching value to our marital status.
The first sister is in her own way. She is borderline insufferable based on the conversation. My wife was laid back and we let it flow during the early stages. She asked Ashley for advice and didn’t take any of the guidance from her. I can’t understand how people ask for advice, but they have all of the answers. Good luck!

My husband and I celebrate 20 yrs this month, so we've been taking trips down memory lane -- just THINKING about our 1st encounters gets us both giggling again. We were young, carefree and simply living in the moments -- we were intoxicated with simply being present with one another. Those feelings of complete and genuine interest and openness is what made us stick like glue (even to this day). All the other stuff is definitely important, but the majority of LIFE is serious -- having that person that makes you feel alive and free of all other worry is what makes love worth having -- it's also what draws you torwards instead of pushing you away.

Instead of thinking something is wrong with the guy, why can’t it be he just wasn’t interested. If she talked as much as she did here and started off the date as she did the interview with Ashley combined with asking him to take pics of her (instead of them together) I can understand why he may have been put off. From the way she described the date, it was all about her instead of them having a good time. But it was a first date…just reflect and proceed.
She has the question “what are you looking for” but she hates being asked”why are you single.” I take what are you looking for instead of the other question.

I've never once been out on a date with a woman and she asked me to snap a picture of her. These chicks stay snapping selfie shots with duck lips or in the mirror, they don't need their date to be their cameraman

I guarantee you something was said or felt by that man that let him realize he was juat wasting his time and money on her, or maybe she said something out of pocket that made him decide to just let it be discreetly. She even admitted herself before they went bar hopping that she had no plans to extend the date, which probably means she wasn't into him and was not planning to see him again after that night. The only reason she went bar hopping was because he was paying for it.

The first girl didn't do anything wrong. She didn't scare anyone away. He was not the one for her period. You want that energy to scare away the unserious people. Lola keep that energy. Everytime I have that energy, a guy came correct and he straight up told me that he knew I'm the kind of girl he had to not play games with. My only suggestion is to ask the questions before the date on a phone call. Keep the convi flowing and add some humor. Be open to share about yourself too and encourage them to ask. Consider men that are not asking and getting to know you as a red flag. Get through all your deal breaker questions and decide if you want to go on a date after that. Then, you can just be present and have fun on the date. May be a question or two might come up, but it won't be like if you went into the date to ask all those questions.
