So they don't add objective XP to weapon levels in objective modes, but add objective XP to a non-objective mode... Best part is, instead of just giving non-objective players a gamemode they like(TDM), all objective players will hop on TDM to level their guns meaning when they return back to objective based modes, they'll be TDM-brained and pretty much go for kills. Unironically, might kill the game in the long run if they don't somehow fix this. Sounds stupid, but I know what we're like.

I did a deep dive into the actual numbers for a video and… you would only need about 2,5 kills with double weapon xp tokens & weekend to gain a weapon level. based on 1500xp per level. That is INSANE. 10000% gonna get changed
Damnit, now they fixed it. I was getting 2-4 levels per TDM match and now it just got an update and I only got 1/3 a level for 28 kills. The math isn't even mathing now. I wish sometimes people wouldn't post videos like this because I was leveling up really fast the last couple of days. Now it's back to a crawl 😢
This game has been a godsend. I’ve been looking for a multiplayer game to play since BO4 and finally there is a game on the market that is fun to play above all else.
No? It wasn’t mentioned in the patch notes or advertised at all. Knowing all the glitches and bugs that have been happening (like losing kill audio) I wouldn’t be surprised if this isn’t intentional and will be reverted

I think this was Mark trying to compensate for the insane level cap at the time and they never got around to fixing it. Let’s hope he gives us a warning this time on when they’re going to patch it.

What’s going on but this weekend I unlocked all the mods on about four weapons and honestly, I didn’t play that much. Just seem like I was unlocking from way faster and I literally unlocked all of my done. I picked four or five weapons.
I finally downloaded Xdefiant after watching your and BT videos. It's extremely hard for me to get any kills on Kbm because of the longer ttk. After 2 hrs of play, my M4 is only level 5. This made me realize I'm the dude Activision is catering to with the short ttk and sbmm. I'm THAT bot. But that's OK since I rarely game anymore lol
it gets better, the M4 is not great and most guns feel bad without attachments. Learn the maps, get better movement, and try to get headshots. Also there used to be a mode with SBMM for players under level 25.
I mean it makes sense because you have no other objective besides getting kills so they gotta compensate for that and reward players for going on killstreaks but on the other hand it would be better if they just made the camo grind a little easier by dropping it down to like 150 so it would still be challenging but not as tedious and grindy as it is now where pretty much noone is getting gold camo unless they play their ass off for hours and hours just for a single weapon.
I feel like this was either intentional to promote the new gamemode or they underestimated how easy it is to get a high score as a casual player. I usually have a KD around 0.75/1.2 in objective gamemodes, but in TDM I'm consistently hitting KD's of 2-3 because the objective is to not die. They probably just looked at average KD/height of streaks and based the numbers on that, not taking determined objective players who constantly die on point into account. Anyhow, I feel like this is a good addition for the gamemode, but I think a cap at 500xp (streak of 9) should be a thing. I've seen screenshots of players gaining 3100xp for one kill, that's a bit.. much, haha.

Ok so the standard average player is still not catered for even with a (glitch), 60% of players will never get a kill streak over 3/4/5 let alone 12 unless they are cheating or so dam lucky that nobody is shooting back. EU servers or the ones i join anyway are still having major lag/hit reg issues and now i'm faced again with VPN people with 200 ping in games, i can not seem to get an even game let alone a kill streak.
TDM is riged in my opinion. Every match I played there was less than 10 kills difference betwen both teams in the end. If there is no SBMM how the hell every match is close 100- 98. Second dying behind walls is even more annoying. Sorry but Xdefiant is starting to piss me of

Yeah this game is not going to last very long. They’re making changes based on complaints from CoD noobs that know nothing about how games work. But because the noobs are the biggest part of the playerbase they need to make them happy. I wouldn’t be surprised if they get pressured to add sbmm for the noobs as well.
Kinda sad TDM is here. I liked how the game had no TDM mode bc it was as close as we were gonna get to forcing people to play the obj, but now everyone's gonna flock to tdm and leave the other gamemodes empty
I'm glad as people on my team barely played the objective anyway and it's good for me not to play objectives and do TDM as objectives really ruin my KD. In Escort for example, i get a 0.5 KD but usually the top scorer in Objective play while being in the bottom half of my team but when i go for kills, i usually hover around a 1.0 KD.

This right here. I love TDM. But I know TDM is what killed CODs other modes. People just want the dopamine from kills. Playing objectives is too hard for their bot brains to do in combination with getting kills. It’s like these dudes can’t grasp the concept of doing both 😂 I really hope there’s a good balance of players in all of the modes. They’re really well done. I just create a custom playlist and add in all the modes. Still finding games instantly for escort and other objective modes.

Shit has been so campy it's wild, my lobbies are basically a standoff & sniper contest, I'll stick to the other modes, they need to take away XP for being stagnant, with the way Snipers & Marksmen rifles(OP) & LMG's are what I get 1 shotted by the most even if they aren't one shot guns unlike the Tac 50, they need to nerf the damage, penalize stagnant gameplay. Feels like their shooting themself in the foot with this weapon lvl stuff & scaring away the casuals. I dont get why they would do this. It makes TDM the most attractive game mode for leveling up. Thats just going to gravitate more people to that mode when it wasnt even in the game to begin with. Where are the xp incentives to carry on playing Objective modes. Like objective score going towards weapon xp. The main reason i play XDefiant is for the objective modes. I honestly didnt feel the need for TDM. There are plenty of other games that have that mode.

All the more reason they should add objective XP to weapon XP. They’ve essentially done that with TDM. Hopefully they’ll add that at some point. But regardless, I’m happy with the weapon level XP changes.
So this shows they're listening and it's their 1st implementation of Objective Weapon XP since it was the easiest to add. These killstreak numbers may only be for the way the game is from the last patch and it'll most likely get adjusted when the Weapon XP patch comes out.

Tdm in this game is awfully slow paced

Nero all of your hype is nonsense if majority of players have hitreg issues. Maybe not as heavy as me (i need 40 bullets so 5 register) but how are we going on killstreak if we need to empty entire mags to kill a guy while the bunny hoppers only need 0.01 seconds to shoot us around corners?. And your lack of aknowledging the hitreg problem is doing harm to xdefiant. It has practically 0 casuals in my area of matchmaking and i cant blame them. This game is such a shitshow.. they adding all that stuff that could easily wait + 99% of their focus is the store. Game is an easy cashgrab for you sheeps

Game looks fantastic, movement feels great but the TTK seems like FOREVER to me. Feels longer than playing CoD in core modes.
And that is a good thing, no more easy kills for campers

It was already patched. I was getting 2-4 levels per match and now I I'm only getting 1/3 level every match.

this will make people to camp a lot on TDM to do big kill streaks, right? then when they go back to other mode as soon they star dying a lot they will camp instead of playing objective, isn't? I mean I think they did this to incentivate people to move and kill but seems to me that will do the oppositive
Shit has been so campy it's wild, my lobbies are basically a standoff & sniper contest, I'll stick to the other modes, they need to take away XP for being stagnant, with the way Snipers & Marksmen rifles(OP) & LMG's are what I get 1 shotted by the most even if they aren't one shot guns unlike the Tac 50, they need to nerf the damage, penalize stagnant gameplay. This game has been a disaster back in the said release window phase, I wouldn't be surprised if they lose more people & a few months later we see the "We are sorry to inform you, but we have decided to cancel XDefiant" post lmao. I can't believe I waited 4 years for this dog shit game.

If i could get more than 1 kill without some freak shape shifting and jumping over my bullets then changing direction in mid air before shooting my face off with the MP7 i would do this 👍🏼

Made a post about this on the subreddit a couple of hours ago. TDM is objectively the best game mode for leveling guns now.
As long as you can kill people with guns. I can't do that at all... Finished 1-25 in last TDM match :(

Feels like their shooting themself in the foot with this weapon lvl stuff & scaring away the casuals. Bring on the try hards & campers but nothing for scrub players like me who can only gain confidence by playing the objective. I dont have a good time when I dont play the objective bc all the modes already feel like TDM. I can play till I get good but I rather get better at other games I'm already decent at like Street Fighter or Tekken 8.
Great. They’ve made gold camo worthless. Wish they just change it back to what it was and leave gold at 200. May as well just give everybody gold and be done with it. I guess bursting into tears and throwing a tantrum gets you what you want….puttng in little effort and getting what you want. Sad.
I dont get why they would do this. It makes TDM the most attractive game mode for leveling up. Thats just going to gravitate more people to that mode when it wasnt even in the game to begin with. Where are the xp incentives to carry on playing Objective modes. Like objective score going towards weapon xp. The main reason i play XDefiant is for the objective modes. I honestly didnt feel the need for TDM. There are plenty of other games that have that mode.
Would be such a better game without the faction ability’s gun plays good weapons good movement goods but got this bo3 /4 hero shit in it and I cbf with it

I just tried thos after watching a video went on an 8 killstreak with a level 1 rpk and it didn't go up more than one level.. finished 27 and 8
All the more reason they should add objective XP to weapon XP. They’ve essentially done that with TDM. Hopefully they’ll add that at some point. But regardless, I’m happy with the weapon level XP changes.
So this shows they're listening and it's their 1st implementation of Objective Weapon XP since it was the easiest to add. These killstreak numbers may only be for the way the game is from the last patch and it'll most likely get adjusted when the Weapon XP patch comes out.
