I mean these guys were probably playing the alpha with other competitive chivalry players for close to a year if not more and probably have at least 4k hours of chivalry too which is more or less the same gameplay so I wouldn't call it the birth.
@@KvltKommando I mean, you dont need 4k hours in chiv to be this good, I have around 650+ in chiv and I consider myself pretty good (not on stouty's level).

@@CDLightt lmao. smooth mouse movements is generally the way to go. Cant remember this case 100% but i think i just did a quick flick with my wrist. You need to time it perfectly though and i guess i had some luck doing so here.

Teen Tactical probably a bit too late to reply but listen to the audio cues, it’s a bit harder in large groups but in a 1v1 there’s a grunt noise as soon as the attack is too late to feint or morph.
There's audio cues- but honestly- the best counter to the feint spam is to get aggressive and to be prepared to panic block a lot (this means start an attack and cancel it in time to block/riposte). Just don't let them control the fight and remember that it takes stamina for them to feint, so wear them out!

Quick Question: I keep hearing the term "gambling." Is that attacking in the middle of the opponent's attack expecting them to feint (so you can poke them out of it)?
Second Question: What is so great about the Halberd? Just curious.
Gambling is basically taking the chance in the middle of another persons attack or gambling if they are going to feint or morph so you can get a quick jab in basically anytime you wanna take a risk
It's taking a risk- which is part of every good fighter's arsenal, imo.
So for example, say you were just done trading hits with someone and you just pause and don't attack at a time when you think the opponent would expect it. This is a gamble that effectively works as a feint. It's a psych-game if done right.
The halberd is valued because of it's long reach combined with it's large amount of damage. It also dismounts riders, if I recall correctly.

How do i get into the comp scene of Mordhau when theres no ranked mode or any real tournaments yet?
closest is popular duel servers, do good on those and the rest will do itself

Mordhau's competitive community is the same as Chiv's in that it's oldschool and predicated on the clans hosting them instead of an event hosted by the devs. Still though, there's apparently going to be a competitive season mode soon.

I'm not an expert and I have like 50-100 hours on Mordhau but I agree that the skills and playstyles that are good for 1v1 might not be good for teamplay, the tempo and patience is completely different. A cautious style that wins more than not in 1v1 will potentially eventually lead to you getting 1v2'ed especially if you don't have teammates that can hold their own.
Stouty you're the type of person id go watch esl mordhau for . Keep the destruction coming im really sure there isnt anyone on your level yet.. gg wp

I’m curious m8 how do you stay so calm? Is it purely bc your skill puts you at ease? Or are you more skilled bc you are at ease. I can be incredibly passionate/competitive and I find I get emotional/riled up quite easily and I can see how quickly my skills go to shit. I was a comp chiv player in NA with in the ballpark of 2k hours and I’ve had many people tell me that I overthink when I fight. I’m constantly strategizing and talking to myself. Are you thinking deeply or sort of letting your reflexes take the lead. Just curious. Cheers
Definitely just go with the flow and try to pay attention to your weaknesses- I find that I'm at my best when I'm in an almost 'meditative' state. Remember: anything they can do, you can do as well. Stay in The-Now and just concentrate on the little things a piece at a time; don't worry about how good you're doing either, it's also super important to your morale. Just try'n enjoy!

Accels and drags are usually enough to score hits and if they parry everything I should win on stam

I want to know the keybind scheme for a really good player to get an idea of what I can map and what will work. If Stouty could share that would be nice but if anyone else could share it I’d be happy with that too.
Get a 4-5 button mouse and assign the angled strikes to them- keep your field of vision as wide as it'll letcha, and consider messing around with your game's dpi to get a look sensitivity that feels loose and works best for you.
Turn off motion blur, and any other bells and whistles that might get in your way (lens flare)

5:20 I know they need the leaning strikes for deeper mechanics but that just looks ridiculous. It looks very close to Chivalry helicopter styles. Will it devolve into that too?

It would be cool if two teams competed against each other with random selected weapons(either everyone has random weapons or everyone gets the same random weapon)

@@genos876 I meant in a casual/competitive setting meaning that it's competitive in the sense that two teams meet and fight each other but it's casual as the teams would have to agree to fight with random weapons and they would agree on how the weapons are distributed. Its more of a private kind of mode and I wouldn't expect to see this if the competitive scene was handled professionally.

NA player here. I knee cap/slice Achilles all the time on a 1st strike with an underhand swing. It's like no one expects it. Nothing special at all but it works for now

Really efficient weapon, especially when paired with an agility oriented build- I roll with a 2/1/2 Greatsword with Second wind and fury and it's a great stam/speed build for the damage the thing dishes out.

Mordhau noob here. Can you explain that jargon to me please? "Friendly?" "Tenacious?" "Acrobat"? Obviously it's a style of play, but can you elaborate?
@@Terrr05 Those are perks mate. Friendly means you deal and take less damage from friendly fire. Acrobat means jumping costs less stamina, and tenacious passive regen is faster.

Jaxy Boi Have you ever played it? It is definitely playable in third person. Try pressing ‘p’ in your next game.

@@schoob4822 because your own character model is blocking your view of your opponent and their weapon. With 1st person POV your field of view usually allows you to have a constant clear view of your opponent and their weapon at all times. If someone was to go for a underhand right stab for instance, you wouldnt see it with a normal 3rd person camera angle. You have an all around clearer idea of precise animations, from both yourself and the person youre fighting, and where/when hits are gonna happen. All the people on here that you can find that are objectively "good" use first person exclusively. Thats not coincidence. Oh and, atleast personally, more immersion is always better.
